Race 1: Roy Chillemi TTC Trainer of the Year Class 6 Plate - 1000 metres
1st – BLAME GAME 2nd – GLENGYLE 3rd – BAR ATTACK 4th – JOHN’S SPECIAL

GLENGYLE (G. Kliese) and SIR PEPPERCORN (P. Cullen) were slow to begin.

Approaching the 200 metres BAR ATTACK (App. B. Swaffer) was checked when tightened for room between GLENGYLE (G. Kliese) and JOHN’S SPECIAL (D. Missen), which was taken out by BLAME GAME (W. D’Avila), which initially shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail, then shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.

At a point near the 100 metres BLAME GAME (W. D’Avila) shifted out, forcing JOHN’S SPECIAL (D. Missen) outwards and resulting in BAR ATTACK (App. B. Swaffer) being inconvenienced. Jockey D’Avila was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he had on this occasion.

Race 2: www.townsvilleturfclub.com.au Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Handicap - 1000 Metres
1st – ALL OVER 2nd - CHICAMONI 3rd – VEYSONNAZ 4th – DANLOTTO

The start was delayed when, after being placed in the barriers WANT TO WIN (App. B. Swaffer) and ZIP ‘N’ ZIZZ (M. Elliott) broke through. Both horses were quickly restrained, returned behind the barriers where they were examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and cleared to take their place in the field.

VEYSONNAZ (W. D’avila) and ALL OVER (F. Edwards) were slow to begin.

WOOLGAR ROAD (I. Toward) began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped DANLOTTO (G. Kliese).

Near the 500 metres WANT TO WIN (App. B. Swaffer) was checked when tightened for room between ZIP ‘N’ ZIZZ (M. Elliott), which was taken in slightly by WOOLGAR ROAD (I. Toward), and CHICAMONI (D. Missen), which had a tendency to hang out.

Upon returning to scale App. B. Swaffer reported that in his opinion WANT TO WIN may have choked down over the concluding stages, which resulted in the gelding failing to finish the race off as well as had been expected. App. Swaffer said that he had recommended to trainer T. Rowe that he add a tongue-tie to the gelding’s approved gear.

App. B. Swaffer, the rider of WANT TO WIN, was reminded of his obligations under A.R. 137(A)(4) regarding his use of the whip on a horse that was out of contention.

Race 3: Follow Us On Facebook QTIS 3-Y-0 Maiden Handicap - 1000 metres

EIREANN, SEQUALO SUZIE and WAY TOO PRICE CI were scratched at the deadline for the declaration of scratchings when no riders were available.

YOU’RE SO LUCKY (R. Wiggins) was slow to begin.

MISHANI WIPEOUT (T. Bannon) began awkwardly and shifted in, and a short distance later had to be eased to avoid the heels of CRYOGEN (J. Babarovich) and lost ground.

In the early and middle stages ALL IN SPIRIT (App. B. Swaffer) raced greenly, and near the 600 metres hung out and became awkwardly placed on the heels of TRACK ACTION (G. Kliese).

Approaching the 500 metres YOU’RE SO LUCKY (R. Wiggins) momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of ESCONDEE (F. Edwards), which shifted in.

Jockey I. Toward, the rider of THE RUSTLA, and Jockey R. Wiggins, the rider of YOU’RE SO LUCKY, were reminded of their obligations under A.R. 137(b) to ride their mounts right out to the finish.

A post-race veterinary examination of ROCKYFAME (D. Missen), which was eased down in the straight, did not reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Mr R. Long was advised that the gelding must trial satisfactorily before being permitted to race again. Mr Long undertook to inform stewards if anything should be amiss with ROCKYFAME in the days following the event.

Race 4: Racing @ Cluden Park This Saturday Class 1 Plate – 1400 metres
1st – LADRETTO 2nd – SONIC BLAST 3rd – STAUNCH NORTH 4th – PINNACLE RIDGE

On jumping, SIX BOB (F. Edwards) and STAUNCH NORTH (R. Ryan) made contact, resulting in STAUNCH NORTH losing ground.

When the pace steadied near the 900 metres STAUNCH NORTH (R. Ryan) shifted out to improve and then was obliged to race three wide for the remainder of the event.

Race 5: Ian Toward TTC Jockey of the Year Class 3 Handicap – 1200 metres
1st – WHY NOT NOW 2nd – MEREDITH 3rd – CAPTAIN FUN 4th – TOUCH OF ELEGANCE

Approaching the 600 metres TOUCH OF ELEGANCE (R. Wiggins) made contact with the running rail.

Near the 600 metres CAPTAIN FUN (App. B. Swaffer) shifted out, taking MEREDITH (W. D’Avila) out onto MOUBASSIN (T. Bannon), which in turn shifted out forcing MENDEZ (A. Merritt) wider.

MENDEZ (A. Merritt) raced wide throughout.

Race 6: SKY Racing Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap – 1000 metres
1st – EXPLOSIVE STAR 2nd – TUTUDUMONDE 3rd – SPURFECT 4th – SASSY

SAVVY DONNA (J. Babarovich) and DELARGO SCENE (F. Edwards) made contact on jumping.

CANDY MOMENT (M. Elliott) began awkwardly.

In the early and middle stages SASSY (App. B. Swaffer) hung out and then raced wide for the remainder of the event.

Shortly after straightening for home PRINCESS FELICIA (A. Merritt) commenced to lay in and became awkwardly placed on the heels of WHAT A DRAGON (P. Cullen).
