LATE RIDING CHANGES
 
When Apprentice E. Cass was indisposed and unable to fulfil her engagements, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Jockey L Attard was not riding at today’s meeting due to personal reasons and was replaced as per Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: Phoenix Constructions QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap – 1000M
1st  -  OUTBACK TYCOON  2nd  -  ROSE OR BUD  3rd  -  CRAIGLEA EPSOM  4th - REVERBERATING
 
 
REVERBERATING – When S. Wilson wasto be overweight, permission was granted for him to ride the filly 1 kg over his declared weight. Jockey Wilson was fined $200.
 
CRAIGLEA EPSOM – When Jockey L. Attard was unable to fulfil his engagement for personal reasons and no other suitable rider was available, permission was granted for Jockey I. Fry to be substituted and to ride the colt ½ kg over its allotted weight.
 
HI SUGAR – Was fractious in the float en route to the course, examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
FIRESTAR PHOENIX – Slow to begin.
 
INVERNESS EXPRESS – Slow to begin.
 
RED DAYS – Slow to begin.
 
SHADOW BOLT – Slow to begin and was inconvenienced shortly after the start.

WATCH ME DAZZLE EM – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CRAIGLEA EPSOM –Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 2: Reichhold Enterprises BenchMark 55 Handicap – 1000 metres
1st  -  EQDAAM  2nd  -  KAP IT OFF  3rd  -  SABA LASS  4TH – CHAT TIME
 
RAINING DOLLARS – Slow to begin.
 
FOREST MAGIC – Improved onto heels near the 500 metres and had to be steadied for a short distance. Rider M. Haley dropped his whip near the 250 metres.
 
SPLASH OUT – Near the 650 metres had to be steadied when crowded for room.
 
VEE EIGHT SIXTY – Crowded for room near the 650 metres. Had to be steadied to avoid heels near the 350 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the winning post. Jockey F. Edwards was fined $200 under A.R. 137A in that he used his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100 metres.
 
SABA LASS – Near the 650 metres shifted in and inconvenienced other runners. Jockey A. Coome was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced 3 wide with no cover throughout.
 
MOLONGLE HERO – Shifted out near the 350 metres and inconvenienced another runner. Jockey P. Cullen was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
Race 3: Goodsell Earthmoving Class 1 Handicap – 1400 metres
1st  -  ON THE BID  2nd - 3rd – LEGENDARY PLUME  -  MISS HAVISHAM  4TH – SYDNEY HARBOUR
 
SYNFUL – When Jockey M. Abe was to be overweight and no suitable rider was available, at the request of connections stewards ordered the late scratching of the mare at 1.14 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets on the horse be refunded in full and that deductions of 2¢ in the dollar for the win and 2¢ in the dollar for successful place bets apply. Jockey M. Abe was fined $200 under AR120(b).
 
FRENCHENKA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
WHO’S YOUR CADDY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SYDNEY HARBOUR – Slow to begin.
 
LIEN – Improved onto heels leaving the 800 metres and had to be steadied until a point near the 700 metres.
 
CAPE LUCK – Began awkwardly, then raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 4: Weseal MM Country Cup Qualifier Open Handicap – 1300 metres
1st  -  ACCIDENTAL  2nd  - VO TREASURE  3rd – MISHANI GLADIATOR  4th - BLAME GAME
 
HORACIO – Leaving the 900 metres, near the 500 metres and again rounding the home turn had to be steadied for a short distance.
 
TURN UP THE VOLUME – Jockey M. Abe was fined $200 under A.R. 120(b) for being overweight for TURN UP THE VOLUME. Blundered on jumping, shifted in and made contact with another runner.
 
RIVARIVA – Was bumped at the start. Raced 3 wide with no cover for the majority of the event.    
 
ACCIDENTAL – Improved onto heels near the 800 metres and had to be steadied.
 
BLAME GAME – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
NOOGOORA BURR – Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
Race 5: Feldt Constructions Maiden Plate – 1300 metres
1st  - THREE HENRYS   2nd  ZEDAHEEL   3rd - PURSUITOFHAPPINESS  4th
SOME SUNNYDAY
 
GABONIA – Was declared a late scratching at 2.33 p.m., acting on veterinary advice when it was found to have blood in its left nostril. Subsequently all bets made on GABONIA were ordered to be refunded and that the following deductions of 2¢ in the dollar for the win and 2¢ in the dollar of all successful place bets apply. Trainer R. Cousins was advised that the gelding must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again. 
 
WHO’S A STAR – Shifted in at the start and inconvenienced another runner.
 
DYNAMIC EMBRACE – Was bumped at the start.
 
THREE HENRYS – Shifted in under pressure near the 200 metres and had to be straightened.
 
DAESY DANORO – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Hung out leaving the 700 metres, shifted very wide on the track taking no competitive part in the race. Trainer L. McCormack was advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
 
GUNGA GALUNGA – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SUNSHINY GIRL – Shifted in marginally near the 1000 metres. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
SOME SUNNYDAY – When over-racing had to be steadied from the heels of SUNSHINY GIRL which shifted in marginally near the 1000 metres. Had a tendency to hang in throughout the race. Connections advised that it is now their intention that the gelding will be sent for a spell.

Race 6: Civil Workx Class 3 Plate – 1200 metres
1st  -  NO BITING  2nd  -  METEOR STORM  3rd – FLYING IGGY  4TH – BLOUKRANS
 
SHAFTSBURY – Had not started for over 12 months, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Began very awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with another runner.
 
GOOD MUSIC – Was reluctant to proceed to the barriers.  Bumped heavily on jumping. Commenced to race ungenerously leaving the 1000 metres, shifted out and inconvenienced another runner. Continued to race ungenerously and again shifted out near the 800 metres and the 600 metres having to be steadied. Was disappointed when attempting a narrow run to the inside of BLOUKRANS which shifted in slightly near the 200 metres. Trainer T. Comerford was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.
 
BLOUKRANS – Shifted in under heavy pressure near the 200 metres. Rider F. Edwards was advised to make a greater effort to keep his mounts straight in similar circumstances.
 
BRAVE BOW – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced near the 800 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Connections advised stewards it is now their intention that the gelding be sent for a spell.
 
FLYING IGGY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
OUR RECIPE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
