GENERAL:
Due to technical errors, blinkers did not appear in the Race Book for a number of runners: Race 3 TELLOFF: Blinkers did not appear in the Race Book - not a gear change. Race 7 SUPERSTITION: Blinkers incorrectly shown in Race Book - not a gear change. DIAMONDNET - Blinkers not shown in Race Book - not a gear change. Race 8 CLEVFILLY: Raced in visor - not shown in Race Book and is not a gear change.
 
Race 1:  Boost Juice Maiden Handicap - 1609 metres
 
MORE THAN KALOOKAN - Became unbalanced on jumping.
 
STORMY ZUMA - Over-raced and threw its head in the air in the early and middle stages.
 
MONACO ROCKET - Rider S. Wilson advised stewards that in his opinion the gelding failed to back up from its most recent run, on 22nd May 2017. Trainer J. Manzelmann agreed with Jockey Wilson's assessment of the run and said that it will be his intention to space the horse's future runs.
 
ZOFFANY ROCKET - When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the colt, Trainer J. Manzelmann stated that the colt had steadily improved since resuming from a spell and believed that the horse will improve further as it steps up in distance.
 
 
Race 2: Jepson Media QTIS 2-Years-Old Maiden Handicap - 1000 metres
 
DROPPER ROCKET - Slow to begin.
 
CHARLIE ROCKET - Began awkwardly, laid out in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out.
 
WICKED MISTRESS - Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA NIKITA - Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Rider B. Grylls advised stewards that in her opinion the filly was in season. This was confirmed by trainer K. Johnston.
 
LOVE ME RUBY - Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages of the race. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
BOLD SAM - Had to be restrained when attempting a doubtful run near the 450 metres.
 
Race 3: DCM  Electrical QTIS 2-Years-Old Maiden Handicap - 1000 metres
 
ROCKSTAR ROCKET - Slow to begin. Traces of blood were present in its off side nostril when returning to scale, a post veterinary examination revealed this to be a superficial wound and such no further action was taken.   
 
CRAIGLEA TICKER - Slow into stride.
 
TELLOFF - Near the 450 metres was restrained when racing in restricted room to the inside of GOLDEN GUARDIAN, which shifted in marginally.
 
GOLDEN GUARDIAN - Near the 400 metres shifted in marginally and hampered another runner. Jockey P. Cullen was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
FRAN - Raced 3 wide with no cover for the major part of the race. Hung out rounding the home turn and shifted wider. Trainer J. Caught was advised that a warning will be placed on the filly's racing manners.
 
MOLONGLE GLOW - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 4: Become a TTC Member QTIS 3-Years-Old Maiden Handicap - 1300 metres
 
RICHTER SCALE - When Jockey S. Sheargold was unable to fulfil his engagement due to personal reasons, Jockey J. Lambie was substituted as rider of the filly. Bumped by another runner at the start. Raced wide with no cover for the majority of the event.
 
CANON KING - Steadied near the 800 metres when over-racing for a short distance.
 
MASON'S CHANCE - Began awkwardly, shifted out at the start and bumped another runner.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE - Steadied when disappointed for a run near the 300 metres.
 
BANSHEE JET - Apprentice Q. Krogh pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R. 137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner prior to the 100 metres. Apprentice KROGH was fined $400. In accessing penalty Stewards took into account his poor record in relation to this rule.
 
Race 5: Townsville RSL Open Handicap - 1400 metres
 
HORACIO - Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner.
 
CRAIGLEA DEKEN - Bumped by another runner at the start. Had to be restrained near the 300 metres when placed in restricted room between ROCKNET and HORACIO, which was taken wider by RANKED (Apprentice E. Cass), which was tiring and shifted ground.
 
STABLE SURPRISE - Over-raced in the early stages and had to be restrained from heels for a short distance. Had difficulty obtaining clear running leaving the 300 metres until near the 200 metres.
 
RANKED - Entering the home straight shifted out when tiring, taking another runner wider and hampering runners to its outside. A short distance later RANKED shifted in and hampered another runner. Rider E.Cass was severely reprimanded and advised that, although her mount was tiring, in similar circumstances she would be expected to make a greater effort to keep her mounts straight.
 
Race 6: TSV Winter Racing Carnival 15-29 July BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1200 metres
 
STANDFORD - Slow to begin. Forced wider on the track leaving the 800 metres.
 
BON TEMPS - Began awkwardly.
 
PACHAMAMA - Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
SAN VITTORIO - Shifted wider to improve leaving the 800 metres. Laid in over the concluding stages and proved difficult to ride out.
 
CORONATION JOURNEY - Over-raced in the early stages.
 
LINE BREAKER - Approaching the 700 metres the saddle on the gelding shifted forward, placing its rider at a distinct disadvantage before the horse was retired from the race.
 
Race 7: Town Automatics & 4WD Class 3 Plate - 1000 metres
 
SHOT OF COURAGE - As Jockey D. Simmons was indisposed, Jockey B.Thomson was substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey Simmons was advised that he must provide a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again.
 
ONE FOR THE MONEY - Began awkwardly. A short distance after the start was steadied when crowded for room. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SUPERSTITION - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SHAHQA - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
EASY WEEKEND - Rider G. Kliese advised stewards that when the gelding showed no customary speed out of the barriers, rather than being caught wide he elected to restrain the gelding and take up a position closer to the running rail.

VAUNTING - Late scratching,at 3.30 p.m.,, by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer S. Molino was advised that he must furnish a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.
 
DANE CHEVAL - Began awkwardly.
 
LITTLE RED CORVETE - Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 200 metres and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
THURSTON - Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
RYLEE'S SAGA - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CLEVFILLY - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DIAMONDNET - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
