Due to technical errors, blinkers did not appear in the Race Book for a number of runners: Race Race 2 - DECODED. Race 2 -. MISC: Visor. ZOE IS THE BEST - Blinkers; - Is a gear change. Race 4: Townsville RSL Royal Rewards - 2000 metres:
 
FRENCH HUSSLER - Trainer J. Wigginton advised stewards that after returning to his stables he had the horse examined by his veterinary surgeon and also had blood  tests taken. The gelding was found to have minor soreness over the hindquarters, which had been treated by a chiropractor, and the horse had since pleased him in its track work.
 
Race 1:  Jim Roberts Locksmiths Maiden Handicap - 1400 metres
 
MIGHTY MEERKAT – Dislodged rider during preliminary, after cantering a short distance,
was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Rider Z. White declared herself free of injury and fulfilled her engagement.    
 
ROCKSTAR ROCKET - Slow to begin.
 
DAESY DANORO - Slow to begin.
 
SONSEE ARRAY- Slow to begin.
 
MISTA BOSS - Began awkwardly and shifted outwards, hampering another runner.
 
FLYIING DUBAI - Bumped at the start, had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
MAROON CREEK - Slow to begin. Jockey G. Kliese pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R. 137(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the finishing line. G. Kliese was fined the sum of  $300.
 
Race 2: The Hunting House Class 1 Handicap - 1200 metres
 
DECODED - Acting on veterinary advice, stewards ordered the late scratching of the gelding at 12pm. Trainer R. Baker was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to DECODED being permitted to race again.
 
GENERAL BEERS - Turned its head to the off side as the gates opened and lost ground.
 
NASTY GAL - Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TIBYAAN - Began awkwardly and shifted in, crowding runners to its inside.
 
ZOE IS THE BEST - Crowded for room at the start. Improved onto heels approaching the 100m and was steadied and then shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
AUTHADANE - Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
MISC - Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
FREE PRESS - Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 800m and had to be steadied. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SOME SUNNYDAY - Shifted in slightly near the 800m and crowded runners to its inside. Rider N. Nelson was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
MISHANI REDMAN - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 3: MM Electrical BenchMark 65 Handicap - 1000 metres
 
WHO'S YOUR CADDY - The start was delayed, and rescheduled for 1.33pm, when the gelding dislodged Jockey D. Simmons, who required Ambulance attention. Stewards ordered the late scratching of WHO'S YOUR CADDY at 1.15pm. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on the gelding be refunded and that the following deductions apply:
 
 
            1¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, MARK'S LEGACY
            2¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, MARK'S LEGACY
            2¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, STRICTLY MAGIC
            2¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, MINNIE STREET
 
MARK'S LEGACY - Apprentice Ms A. Thomson, in the presence of senior rider G. Kliese, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R.137(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in near the 200m under hard riding when not sufficiently clear of PINCER STRIKE (S. Wilson), which had to be steadied and shift in tightening the running of MOLONGLE HERO (W. D'Avila), which in turn shifted in and tightened the running of MAHRAJAAN (S. Sheargold), which was checked and lost its rightful running. Apprentice Thomson's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 29th July 2017 and to expire at midnight on 10th August 2017. Slow to begin. Found to have bled from both nostrils during running. As this was the second occasion on which the gelding had bled, trainer A. Molino was advised that the horse would incur a lifetime ban from racing in Australia, under A.R. 53A(5).
 
MINNIE STREET - Apprentice N. Nelson, in the company of her master Mr R. Nelson, pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R.137(a) in that she permitted the mare to shift in under hard riding when not fully clear of ROSE OF CLARE (App. Z. White), which clipped heels and blundered. Apprentice Nelson's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight on 29th July 2017 up to and including midnight on 10th August 2017. Rider lost the use of her off side reign for a short distance approaching the 150m.  
 
STRICTLY MAGIC - Slow to begin.
 
CHEERING - Held up and unable to improve for a short distance leaving the 400m.
 
MAHRAJAAN – Tightened for room near the 200m and was checked.
 
ROSE OF CLARE - Clipped heels and blundered near the 200 metres and was checked.
 
GUTZ CI - Shifted out approaching the 200m and bumped another runner.
 
MOLONGLE HERO - Shifted out slightly near the 300m and bumped another runner.
 
Following the event rider D. Simmons declined ambulance advice and declared himself free of injury to fulfil his further engagements.   

Race 4: The Mater Women's Unit QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap -  1000 metres
 
The start was delayed due to complications arising from the previous event.
 
LIKER - A pre-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to its off hind leg. The filly was cleared to take its place in the field. Rider P. Cullen dismounted the filly returning to scale feeling something was amiss. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will liaise with Trainer G. Coleman in relation to the mares progress.
 
MAGNITUDE LAD - Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
MOLONGLE MAGIC - Slow into stride. Shifted out near the 300m bumping another runner.
 
ALPINE MAGIC - Tightened for room on jumping.
 
MISTA BUSY - Began awkwardly and shifted inwards, tightening another runner.
 
BROKEN FINGER - Rider W. D'Avila reported to stewards that he was of the opinion that the filly got its tongue over the bit. Trainer W. Winters advised stewards that he would experiment with a gear change prior to the horse's next race start.
 
RELNINO - Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted out near the 750m and hampered another runner. Near the 300m was bumped by another runner and was steadied.  Shifted out near the 200m and bumped another runner and became unbalanced.
 
CYCLONE FUGITIVE –Near the 750minconveniencedby another runner, which shifted out abruptly.Bumped on the hindquarters near the 200m and became unbalanced.
 
PLATINUM TYCOON - Shifted out and away from another runner near the 750m and hampered another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CAPTAIN'S PICK - Raced wide for the majority of the race.  Inconvenienced by another runner near the 750m and shifted wider.
 
Race 5: The Rack'n'Stack Warehouse Open Handicap - 1609 metres
 
PULSAR - Began awkwardly.
 
KNOWING ME - Hung in near the 150m and again near the 50m, and had to be steadied on both occasions.
 
ROCKNET – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6: The Coffee Club Bracelet Fillies & Mares Class 6 Handicap - 1300 metres
 
JEWELLERY THIEF - Was declared a late scratching at 9.30am. Trainer R. Walsh was fined $100 for failing to scratch by the prescribed time.
 
VO TREASURE - Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of Jockey W. D'Avila as rider of the mare. Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
KAYLEE - Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
REAL WARRIOR - Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race and raced very wide rounding the home turn.
 
ZAHA EXPRESS - Bumped near the 1000m.
 
CRAIGLEA FOCUS - Shifted in near the 1000m and bumped another runner.
 
ETRANGERE - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ROCKETTE ROCKET - Raced in restricted room from the 600m to the 400m while being steadied off heels and unable to obtain clear running after entering the home straight until leaving the 200m.
 
Race 7: Global Welding/Talbot Heatley Lightning Open Handicap - 1000 metres
 
ASSIMILATOR - Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer M. Dale for the late declaration of Jockey G. Watson as rider of that horse.
 
LOVER OF LIFE - Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping another runner.
 
NATURAL DANCER - Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
ROYAL PHYSICIAN - Slow to begin.
 
ONE BAR NONE - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
LE CAP - Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
