GENERAL :
Due to technical errors, the following horses were not shown in the Race Book as wearing blinkers: Race 1, SLINKY TYCOON, Race 2 KWANZA and PINYARDA,, Race 3, INDELICACY, Race 4, ETRANGERE, Race 5, FLYING ONE MORE, and Race 6, CHEERING. Public announcements were made advising patrons that these were not gear changes.

RACE 1: Mackay Wales Law Maiden Handicap - 1300m
 
DAESY DANORO - Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
WATCH ME DAZZLE EM - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MIGHTY MEERKAT -- Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
SIDTHEKID - Raced ungenerously in the middle stages and had to be restrained from heels near the 800m.
 
WHILE WE CAN - Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages of the race.
 
RACE 2: - Wilson/Ryan/Grose Lawyers Class 6 Platee - 1400m
 
GOLD CUFFLINKS - Slow into stride.
 
RACE 3: Emanate Legal QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1000m
 
CRAIGLEA RIO - Began awkwardly and shifted in, making heavy contact with another runner, resulting in both runners blundering.
 
CRAIGLEA OMEGA - Bumped heavily by another runner at the start. Near the 700m shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, and tightened another runer.. Trainer K. Johnston was advised that a warning will be placed on the filly's racing manners.
 
CITY SECRETS - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FINE 'N' DEVINE - Hung in soon after straightening and proved difficult to ride. Near the 300m had to be steadied.
 
CRAIGLEA MARIAH - Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
INDELICACY - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
RACE 4: Ritzco Homes Ratings Band 0 - 60 Handicap - 1609m
 
THE PRINCIPAL - Slow to begin.
 
GLAMORGAN BABE - Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages when atempting to move forward.
 
GRAVETTIAN - Leaving the 100m attempted to jump a discoloured patch of grass. Jockey G. Kliese advised stewards that he was of the opinion that something may have gone amiss with the gelding and consequently he was reluctant to place the horse under pressure over the concluding stages. The explanation was noted.
 
DONAVIA -- Slow to begin. Raced wide until near the 1200m when it improved forward. When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing peformance, Jockey C. Jokic said that her moount raced keenly in the early and middle stages and she was of the opinion that the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit. Connections advised stewards that it is now their intention to make a gear change prior to its next race start by adding a tongue-tie to its approved gear.
 
MISC - Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
MUNJIZ - Restrained off the heels of a tiring runner near the 300m and shifted wider.
 
RACE 5: Feed 2 Go Ratings Band 0 - 60 Handicap - 1000m
 
FINE FERGUS - Slow to begin. Stewards questioned Jockey G. Kliese regarding the below market expectations performance. Jockey Kliese said that the gelding failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and in his opinion was disappointing. Trainer A. Payne advised that this was the gelding's first start for the stable, however in his opinion was disappointing.
 
BELLA UNO - Slow to begin.
 
FLYING ONE MORE - Slow to begin.
 
CORNISH TALES - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
RACE 6: Mater Emergency Department Townsville BenchMark 70 Handicap - 1000m
 
POWER SUPPLY - Began awkwardly and was then tightened for room between runners, had to be checked and lost ground.
 
ROAD FOX - Began awkwardly, shifted out and tightened another runner at the start. Over-raced in the middle stages and had to be restrained from heels near the 650m.
 
METEOR STORM >- Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
 
JACK LANCASTER - Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
HIDDEN IN HEAVEN - Raced wide for the majority of the race. Crowded for room over the concluding stages.
 
TUSCAN FALLS - Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
LILLY KAREENA - Laid out rounding the home turn and then laid in under under pressure in the home straight. Rider W. D'Avila was finedd the sum of $200 under A.R. 137A. (5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner prior to the 100m.
 
RACE 7: Mater Health Services Townsville Class 3 Handicap - 1200m
 
PONCHERELLO - Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
CRAIGLEA GHETTO - Began awkwardly.
 
MISS HAVISHAM - Began awkwardly, near the 450m was incovenienced by another runner and had to be steadied
 
DEPUTY DAN - Slow to begin.
 
PINCER STRIKE - Slow to begin.
 
DEXTEROUS - Began awkwadly and lost ground. Near the 450m became unbalanced and shifted in, crowding another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race. When questioned about the performance of the gelding which raced below market expectations, Jockey D. Simmons stated that it was the horse's first start in a clockwise direction and it never travelled comfortably at any stage . He added that he was obliged to race wide after beinning awkwardly from its wide barrier for the majority of the race and became unbalanced near the 450m. Trainer S. Potiris said that whilst he was disappointed with today's run, he agreed with Jockey Simmons' comments and he would expect an improved performance going forward. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
