GENERAL :
 
Due to technical errors, the following horses were not shown in the Race Book as wearing blinkers: Race 1, ROYAL STANDING. Race 2, CELESTIAL JEWEL (again), DAESY DANORO (again); MYTANG (again) and SLINKY TYCOON; Race 3: KWANZA and FASTCAR; Race 5, HELLO HARRA; Race 6, AMAHERO (again), CONCRETUS and A L'OUEST (again). Public announcements were made advising patrons.

RACE 1: AE Smith Class 3 Plate - 1609 metres
 
DIAMOND RACER - Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. Raced in restricted roomm for a short distance near thee 450m.
 
ROBABANK - Raced wide early. Shifted in near the 450m placing other runners in restricted room for a short distance. Rider Ms B. Thomson was advised to take greater care in similar circumstances.

MISC - Over-raced in the early and middle stages. For a short distance near the 450m raced in restricted room.
 
ROYAL STANDING - When asked to explain the performance of the gelding, Rider C. Whiteley stated that the horse failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure leaving the 700m and never travelled comfortably throughout the event. He further added the horse had a tendency to hang out for the majority of the race and was disappointing. Trainer Mr A. Molino was at a loss to explain today's performance and undertook to inform stewards if anything should come to his attention in the following days that may have had a bearing on todayys performance. A post-race veterinary examinatiion did not reveal any abnormalities.
 
RACE 2: - Kordamentha Maiden Handicap - 1400 metres
 
BAWAARDI ROCKET - Shifted out at the start and bumped another runner.
 
DAESY DANORO - Bumped by another runner at the start, shifted out to improve leaving the 800mm and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
HOT 'N' SOXY - Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped another runner. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race. Clipped heels and blundered near the 300m.
 
MAGIC WELL - Over-raced in the early stages.
 
ZULU TUK - Rider J. Felix pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a)) in that near the 300m he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficently clear of HOT 'N' SOXY, which clipped that runners heels and blundered.. Jockey Felix was suspended from riding in races forr a period of 8 days to commence at midnight on 7th October 2017, up to and including midnight on 15th October 2017.


CELESTIAL JEWEL - Over-raced in the early stages.
 
RACE 3: www.skyfoundation.org.au Class 6 Plate - 1200 metres
 
FASTCAR - Stewards permitted the gelding to race without hind bar plates,due to a misunderstanding between trainer Mr R. Chillemi and his blacksmith. The gear change was notified via media outlets.
 
VO TREASURE - Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
POWER SUPPLY - Slow to begin.
 
REAL WARRIOR - Slow to begin. Shifted wider to improve leaving the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
SABA LASS - Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages, was then shifted wider leaving the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards.
RACE 4: RSD Plumbing Maiden Handicap - 1000 metres
 
DASHING RAINBOW - Slow to begin and hampered by another. Hampered by another runner near the 600m.
 
MANHATTAN MONTY - Slow to begin. Hampered by another runner at the start.
 
HEART OF THE MACC - Began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered other runners. Raced greenly in the middle stages. Was reluctant to improve to the inside of another runner near the 600m, shifted out across heels and inconvenienced another runner. Trainer Mr R. Chillemi was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding's racing manners.
 
MISS FURY - Began awkwardly, raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majorityof the event.
 
LADY SHIVA - Slow to begin.
 
BASK IN GLORYY - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CENTENARIO - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PROFUSIVE - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SUPAMETEOR - Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 300m until leaving the 200m.
 
RACE 5: Townsville RSL Ratings Band 0 - 65 Handicap - 1000 metres
 
ASSERTIVE LOVE -- Began awkwardly
 
HELOW TUCKER - Began awkwardly and shifted in, hampering another runner, despite the efforts of its rider. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SLADE AMIGOS - Hampered by another runner at the start.
 
STRICTLY MAGIC - Slow into stride.
 
RACE 6: townsvilleturfclub.com.au Class 1 Handicap - 1200 metres
 
CONCRETUS - Slow to begin.
 
A L'OUEST - Raced wide for the majorityof the race.
 
MISHANI REDMAN - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BROKEN FINGER - Following the race rider Q. Krogh advised stewards that the mare was reluctant to go forward in the early stages, despite his urgings.
 
AMAHERO - Slow to begin, raced ungenerously in the early stages and was checked near the 600m.
 
SEEKTOWIN - Rider M. Nelson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in when not clear of AMAHERO, which was checked. Ms Nelson's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days, to commence at midnight on 7th October 2017, up to and including midnight on 16th October 2017. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
RACE 7: Hygain Tracktorque Open Handicap - 1000 metres
 
 
CLEAVER - Slow to begin.
 
ROYAL PHYSICIAN - Slow to begin. Restrained near the 600m when tightened for room
 
LOVER OF LIFE - Slow to begin.
 
RIVARIVA - Tightened for room by another runner near the 600m.
 
CANNY AND THE JET - Shifted in near the 600m and tightened runners to its inside. Rider W.D'Avila was reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
