SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Townsville 22/02/2018 –

Race 4: Class 3 Plate – 1609m: BANSHEE JET – Trainer S. Sigvart advised Stewards following the mare’s disappointing performance in the above race that it has pleased him since returning to the stables and he is of the opinion that the mare may have struggled on the heavy track and may be better suited at shorter distances than that of the day’s race.

Race 7: Class 2 H’Cap – 1200m: GOLDEN GUARDIAN – Trainer Ms M. Petrofski advised Stewards following the gelding’s unplaced run at the above meeting that a further veterinary examination revealed the horse to be sore in both front fetlocks and as a result has been sent for an immediate spell. Ms Petrofski further advised that she will provide a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to it racing again.

Race 1: HYGAIN QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1000M

FLINDERS HIWAY – Began awkwardly and shifted out, inconveniencing another runner.

OTHERSIDE – Inconvenienced on jumping away, became unbalanced, shifted out and lost ground. Raced greenly for the majority of the event. Rider F. Edwards was cautioned in regards to his use of the whip on the horse over the concluding stages.

ROCKETHEAD – Began awkwardly.

VALUATE – Raced greenly for a short distance near the 200m.

Race 2: MATER HEALTH SERVICES BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP – 1300M

After arriving late on course due to transport difficulties, both GUNDY STAR and WE JUST LOVE IT were examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the race and cleared to start. A public announcement was made to this effect.

MASON’S CHANCE – After winning a Benchmark 70 race in Rockhampton on Friday 2 March, the horse was penalised 2kg above its originally allocated 59kg and carried 61kg in this event. Overraced in the early stages.

GUNDY STAR – Laid out rounding the home turn.

WE JUST LOVE IT – Slow into stride. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

VO TREASURE – Raced three wide after hanging out from leaving the 800m until entering the home straight.

ALDREN – As F. Edwards was dually engaged, he was replaced by S. Wiseman as rider. Stewards accepted the explanation regarding the circumstances of this matter.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 4 retrospective.

Race 3: UBET CLASS 3 PLATE – 1400M

RANGERZANE – Began awkwardly.

SHE’S A RINGO – Overraced for a short distance near the 800m and threw its head in the air.

Race 4: RACK N STACK WAREHOUSE MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M

MANHATTAN MONTY – Was a late scratching at 12:13 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.

CORNWALL COAST – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

LONESOME BLUES – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

ELEGIR – Slow to begin.

FYLART – Began awkwardly, making heavy contact with its inside barrier partition. Trainer J. Campeao was advised that the horse’s nomination for TAB meetings would be refused until such time as its country form improves. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

HARD LOVE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

ISIS HUSSON – Trainer D. Micallef was advised that the horse’s nomination for TAB meetings would be refused until such time as its country form improves. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

MISS INQUISITIVE – Began awkwardly, was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Trainer O. Cairns was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s poor performance.

Race 5: TOWNSVILLE 100 CLUB OPEN H'CAP – 1000M

GRAND EMPEROR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted in near the 300m, placing another runner to its inside in restricted room. Rider M. Hart was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a laceration to its off hind leg

FOUR EXCEL – Improved on to heels approaching the 300m and had to be steadied.

ROYAL PHYSICIAN – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room leaving the 300m when inclined to lay in for a short distance and being crowded by other runners and as a result had to be steadied and shift wider.

STABLE SURPRIZE – Steadied from heels near the 300m.

CRAIGLEA ODYSSEY – Began awkwardly and blundered. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted out slightly near the 300m, placing another runner in restricted room. Rider F. Edwards was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Race 6: CAPRICORN YEARLING SALE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M

TO THE LETTER – Shifted in despite the efforts of its rider near the 1000m, causing another runner to be checked.

ABBA ORIGINAL – Began awkwardly.

FRENCH BUBBLES – Compounded badly in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G. Hughes was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s poor performance.

DAY OF THE FOX – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

DAESY DANORO – Slow to begin.

VIVA LAS VEGAS – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. Had to be checked near the 1000m when tightened for room by another runner which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

Race 7: PLUMBER TO YOUR DOOR BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP – 1000M

GUTZ CI – Shifted in near the 650m, crowding another runner. Rider L. Dodds was advised to show greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

ROCKETTE ROCKET – Began awkwardly. Steadied near the 600m when crowded for room.

FIVE STARS – Crowded for room near the 650m by another runner which shifted in.

RAINING DOLLARS – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

TWICE THE STYLE – Shifted in near the 600m, inconveniencing another runner. Rider S. Wiseman was advised to show greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

Race 8: GREAT NORTHERN CLASS 2 PLATE – 1200M

CAPITANEAR – Shifted in shortly after the start, inconveniencing another runner. Rider A. Butler was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.

CHIC SOX – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

CYCLONE FUGITIVE – Began awkwardly, making heavy contact with its outside barrier gate.

IRISH HEART – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

BLAZON TALES – Inconvenienced by another runner shortly after the start. Trainer J. Russell was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s poor performance.

OUR LITTLE MIRACLE – Slow to begin.

INNER HURRY – Reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Trainer T Bannon was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s parading manners.

METAZOA – Slow to begin.
