Considering the margin of ½ head Stewards upheld the objection and amended the placings to read: 1st – LADY SKILLS, 2nd – VAUNTING, 3rd – BOLD AVENUE, 4th – GOLD CUFFLINKS.

At a subsequent inquiry C. Bayliss, (BOLD AVENUE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that he failed to stop riding and straighten his mount which was shifting out over the final  200m dictating the line of VAUNTING (F. Edwards) which was taken wider tightening the running of GO BY RIO (J. Taylor) which had to be checked approaching the winning post. C. Bayliss’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence at midnight Sunday 1/07/2018 and to expire at midnight Monday 9/07/2018. Apprentice Bayliss was informed of his right of review.
