Race 1: MCDONALDS THE LAKES MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
 
ICE WARRIOR – Forced inwards at the start, making heavy contact with another runner.
 
JINGAS – After being initially slow to begin, was tightened for room and bumped heavily, losing ground. Raced ungenerously for the majority of the event and raced wide.
 
KEGSY – Slow to begin.
 
ONCE WERE WARRIORS – Became unbalanced and crashed through the running rail near the 200m, dislodging rider W. D’Avila. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered a thoracic haemorrhage and was euthanased on humane grounds. After being attended to by ambulance officers, W. D’Avila was transported to hospital for further observation. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
YOU’RE IN MY HEART – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
EXCRUCIATE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Trainer T. Cook advised stewards following the race he was of the opinion that the mare may have got its tongue over the bit during running and as such he will consider a gear change for its next race start.
 
REVERBERATING – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
VEHEMENT – Shifted in at the start, forcing another runner inwards.
 
HOLY DAN – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 2: RED ROOSTER FAIRFIELD WATERS OPEN H’CAP – 1609M
 
IT AND A BIT – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer G. Hughes was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
 
BETTER FUTURE – Rider C. Whiteley explained to stewards on returning to scale that it was not his intention to lead today, however due to there being no pace in the race, the horse travelled comfortably in the lead. Trainer J. Caught confirmed the instructions that it was not the intention for the gelding to lead today.
 
ROYAL STANDING – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: FOOD RELIEF NQ QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1000M
 
WICKED DANCER, which was injured in the float en route to the course, was declared a late scratching at 12:35 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.
 
MIRACLES APLENTY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ROTH’N’BELL – Began awkwardly.
 
REAR VIEW MIRROR – As C. Jokic was dually engaged, she was replaced by J. Felix. Stewards accepted jockey Jokic’s explanation. Raced greenly for a short distance leaving the 200m.
 
WHAT’S ROCKIN’ – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 4: BM WEBB INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY OPEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
CHOI OI – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DON’T TELL PETE – Began awkwardly and was then crowded for room shortly after the start.
 
Race 5: HYGAIN RELEASE CLASS 2 PLATE – 1000M
 
WE’LL BEAT IT, which was injured in the float en route to the course, was declared a late scratching at 12:35 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.
 
RISING KING – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
VINCE THE PRINCE – Began awkwardly.
 
MY BOY TICKETS – Had difficulty obtaining clear running soon after entering the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested, having to be steadied approaching the winning post.
 
CRAIGLEA CETINA – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
TWO PLUS TWO – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 

 
Race 6: FORKLIFT IT BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1200M
 
BLAZING STEEL – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted in near the 500m, inconveniencing another runner. Apprentice A. Spinks was reprimanded and advised to be clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
 
SONIC SWISH – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
BELLA SASH – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ALLEZ TROIENNE – Inconvenienced near the 500m and steadied from the heels of another runner which shifted in.
 
MOLONGLE DREAM – Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run near the 400m and was steadied and shifted wider.
 
MEXICAN MOUNTAIN – Raced in restricted room for a short distance shortly after the start and was steadied.
 
ULTRA RED – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: PROFESSIONAL PUMP SERVICES & IRRIGATION BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1400M
 
KAPHNI – Tightened for room and lost ground at the start.
 
MIAZUMI – Tightened for room at the start.
 
BELORUM – Tightened for room at the start.
 
LONESOME BLUES – Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Rider B. Thomson reported that she felt there may have been something amiss with the gelding and as a result she did not put it under pressure over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer E. Sewell was of the opinion that the horse may have got its tongue over the bit during running and advised that he will consider a gear change prior to its next start.
 
PHANTOM SOX – Shifted out at the start, tightening runners to the outside.
 
HYPER DRIVE – Shifted in at the start, tightening runners to the inside. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
WEAR THE FOX HAT – Refused to take any part in the race, leaving the barriers a considerable distance behind the field. Trainer T. Cook was advised that the gelding must officially trial to stewards’ satisfaction before being permitted to race again. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
CELESTIAL JEWEL – Tightened for room on jumping away.
 
TRY BEFORE DUBAI – Tightened for room on jumping away and lost ground.
