Race 2: FEED 2 GO QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M CRAIGLEA CELERIO – Shifted out slightly shortly after the start, bumping with another runner on two occasions. HOLY DAN – Shifted in on jumping, bumping with another runner on two occasions. OSBECK – Slow to begin. CRAIGLEA ARION – Raced wide for the majority of the event. CRAIGLEA VIRTUE – Slow to begin. EDITH MARGARET – Bumped by another runner on jumping away. NOBLE SQUAW – Raced wide for the majority of the event. TENAKA – Raced wide for the majority of the event. YNYS GORED GOCH – Bumped by another runner on jumping away. POETIC ATTACKS – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 3: ZOOPERS CARS TOWNSVILLE BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1609M CROCODILE SHOES – Raced wide for the majority of the event. I’M NOT SURE – Slow to begin. PHANTOM SOX – Overraced in the middle stages, having to be restrained from heels near the 1000m, before shifting out hampering another runner. Had a tendency to hang out in the home straight. COUTAINVILLE – Overraced near the 1300m and was restrained from heels for some distance. COLLYWOBBLE – Inconvenienced near the 1000m when the pace slackened and as a result shifted out across the heels of LUVYA BEAK, clipping that runner’s heels and blundering. PURRFECT TYCOON – Raced wide for the majority of the event. LUVYA BEAK – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Race 4: EDE EVENTS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M CHAMAREL – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. CLASSIC RECORDS – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 200m, bumping another runner. CRAIGLEA GHETTO – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Crowded for room leaving the 1000m by another runner which shifted in. Hampered near the 200m and shifted out slightly. DECODED – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Checked leaving the 200m when tightened for room between CRAIGLEA GHETTO, which shifted out, and CAPTAIN THE WORLD, which shifted in slightly under pressure. In this incident stewards noted the shift inwards by CAPTAIN THE WORLD (N. Day), however they could not be satisfied that total blame for the incident could be attributed to any one horse or rider. Whilst stewards noted all the other factors, N. Day was severely reprimanded and advised to take greater care in similar circumstances. MARTIAL ART – Slow to begin. Bumped by another runner near the 200m and shifted out slightly. FREEZE ‘N’ TEASE – Rider C. Whiteley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of REGAL EMBRACE, which had to be checked and then raced fiercely for a short distance. In this incident SI D’AMOUR, which was following, was also checked. Jockey Whiteley’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight on Tuesday 28 August and expire at midnight on Wednesday 5 September 2018. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey Whiteley’s good riding record, his forthright evidence and guilty plea. Mr Whiteley was advised of his right to an internal review. CAPTAIN THE WORLD – Raced wide for the majority of the event. FERINGO – Slow to begin. REGAL EMBRACE – Had to be checked near the 1000m and raced fiercely for a short distance thereafter. Bumped by another runner near the 200m and shifted out slightly. Had to be checked near the 100m and lost its rightful running. D. Hayse, the rider of FERINGO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 100m he permitted his mount to shift out when being ridden along and when insufficiently clear of REGAL EMBRACE. Jockey Hayse’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight on Friday 31 August August and expire at midnight on Saturday 8 September 2018. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey Hayse’s good riding record, his forthright evidence and guilty plea. Jockey Hayse was advised of his right to an internal review. SI D’AMOUR – Checked and lost ground near the 1000m when a runner ahead received interference. Race 5: MCDONALD’S TOWNSVILLE BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1400M BEST HOFFA – Began awkwardly. PARTY PIES – Disappointed for a run near the 250m before switching back to the inside to obtain clear running. Race 6: FOOD RELIEF NQ TOWNSVILLE AMATEURS CUP OPEN H’CAP – 2000M FASTNET FLYER – Began awkwardly. LADY SKILLS – Shifted out slightly near the 300m, bumping heavily with another runner and becoming unbalanced. Bumped by another runner approaching the winning post. IT AND A BIT – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Shifted in slightly near the 300m, bumping heavily with another runner. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. CHESTNUT ROAD – Slow to begin. Made the turn out of the straight awkwardly and threw its head in the air. Rider A. Spinks dropped his whip near the 300m. GO BY RIO – Hampered by a tiring runner leaving the 100m. BETTER FUTURE – Raced wide in the early stages until improving forward and gaining the lead near the 1200m. Compounded in the home straight. CRIMSON HALO – Shifted in under pressure approaching the winning post, bumping another runner. Race 7: PROFESSIONAL PUMP SERVICES & IRRIGATION TSVLE AMATEURS SPRINT OPEN H’CAP – 1200M PEACOCK – Raced wide for the majority of the event. EXECUTED – Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested. GRAND EMPEROR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event. MASON’S CHANCE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. DIVINE SERVICE – Fractious in the barriers and lost considerable ground on jumping. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners. RIVARIVA – Raced wide for the majority of the event. SEPTIMO – Fractious in the barriers.
