SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:

Burdekin Race Club 3 November 2018

An inquiry was heard today into the reasons for an argument-taking place in the woman’s jockey room following the running of the last race. After hearing evidence from riders B. Thomson and N. Nelson, both riders pleaded guilty to a charge under AR175(q) in that they did engage in unseemly behaviour in the woman’s jockey room following the running of race five. Ms Thomson and Ms Nelson were each fined the sum of $500. Acting under the provisions of AR196 (4) $300 was wholly suspended for a period of two years on the condition they do not breach this or a similar rule in that time.

A further inquiry was held in relation to an incident that took place in the float/car park area of the Burdekin Race Club following the completion of the meeting. After hearing initial evidence from riders B. Thomson and N. Nelson the inquiry was adjourned to a date and time to be fixed to allow licensed person Mr G. Pierce, who advised he was unable to attend today’s  inquiry due to illness to be present.
