Woodham GENERAL As S. Pawsey was not riding due to illness, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Jockey Pawsey was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to resuming riding. Race 1: SKY RACING QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Shifted out on jumping, forcing another runner wider. CRAIGLEA LIZZY – Began awkwardly. Commenced to hang out a short distance after the start and shifted very wide rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had sharp incisor teeth which required dental attention. Trainer K. Johnston was advised that in view of the veterinary report a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners and that she must provide evidence of dentistry treatment having been performed on the horse prior to it being permitted to race again. LADY YENDOR – Began awkwardly. BONNEZONE – Began awkwardly and shifted in slightly, making contact with another runner that shifted out, causing it to blunder and lose ground. CRAIGLEA TOPAZ – Forced outwards at the start, bumping another runner. Race 2: HYGAIN RELEASE BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1609M SCHEDULE – Delayed the start when it became fractious in the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Momentarily held up and unable to improve for a short distance leaving the 500m. CARLINO’S WAY – Raced wide for the majority of the event. EUCHARIST – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 3: RACE INTO SUMMER AT THE TTC MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M The start of this race was delayed when N. Day, the rider of GROUP SESSION, was kicked by another runner behind the barriers. Jockey Day was examined by ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil his engagement. ANGRY DESERT – Fractious in the barriers. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and hung out near the 700m, forcing other runners wider on the track. Trainer R. Hermann was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners. Mr Hermann was further advised that ANGRY DESERT’s nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until its racing manners and competitiveness improve at non-TAB meetings. CINEMATOGRAPHY – Overraced in the early stages. Forced wider by another runner near the 700m. CANDY GIRL – Restrained off heels near the 600m and again restrained near the 400m when unable to obtain clear running. DAESY DANORO – After being slow to begin was inconvenienced by another runner which shifted out. GAI OF THE GALAXY – Slow to begin. SCOTTABEE – Forced wider near the 700m by another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the event. TENAKA – Delayed the start when reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Trainer L. McCormack was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s pre-race manners. Ms McCormack was further advised that TENAKA’s nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until its form improves at country meetings. GROUP SESSION – After being slow to begin, shifted out, inconveniencing another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 4: WEDDING VENUES TOWNSVILLE TURF CLUB CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M DEACON BLACK – Had a tendency to overrace in the middle stages and was restrained from heels near the 800m. PARK HUSSLER – Slow to begin. SCRIPTS – Began awkwardly. BROW ROWELL – Slow to begin. Had to be checked near the 50m when tightened for room between SCRIPTS and BATTLE (N. Day), which shifted in. N. Day pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in under pressure at that stage when not fully clear of BROW ROWELL. N. Day’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 13 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 19 January and expire at midnight on Friday 1 February 2019. Jockey Day was advised of his right to an Internal Review. SPEEWAH LASS – Slow to begin. Trainer D. Veivers, was advised that the mare’s nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until its form improves at country meetings. Following this race N. Day was stood down from his remaining engagements and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 5: BECOME A TTC MEMBER CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M GALA TICKETS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. LIBERATION LAD – Raced wide for the majority of the event. RANGERZANE – Slow to begin. LADY MIRABELLA – Raced wide for the majority of the event. NORTHERN REVENGE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. BLAZON TALES – Slow to begin. Race 6: CATCH YA AT CLUDEN OPEN H’CAP – 1200M SPORTING PAGE – Slow to begin. The saddle shifted forward approaching the 1000m, placing rider C. Jokic at a distinct disadvantage, causing her to kick her feet out of the irons, resulting in the horse taking no competitive part in the race. MORE THAN A SONG – Raced wide for the majority of the event. GOING GREY – Slow to begin. Race 7: AUSTRALIA DAY RACING AT CLUDEN CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1300M BULLION WOLF – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards. ESCADAY – Slow to begin. LIMITED – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. KENNYNOPAS – Slow to begin. ROSE CLIP – Raced wide for the majority of the event. UNCANNY REASON – Commenced to overrace for a short distance approaching the 1000m when being crossed by other runners. DANZ THE MAN – Raced wide for the majority of the event. SOLAR BRAVO – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 8: CLUDEN PARK FUNCTIONS CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000M BLAZING STEEL – Slow to begin. COHESION – Slow to begin.
