GENERAL
 
As R. McMahon was not riding due to illness, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Jockey McMahon was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to riding again.
 
Race 1: TAB QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1000M
 
KWIKILLA – Delayed the start when it proved difficult to load. Trainer T. Comerford was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners. Raced greenly in the early stages.
 
CRAIGLEA FLORIDA – Slow to begin.
 
MT PETER MISS – Slow to begin.
 
JILTED GIRL – Delayed the start when it proved difficult to load. Trainer T. Simmons was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners. Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly in the early and middle stages and as a result raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CRAIGLEA TOPAZ – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages, proving difficult to ride out.
 
 
 
 
Race 2: TAB DOWNLOAD THE APP OPEN H'CAP – 1300M
 
SPORTING PAGE – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
LADY SKILLS – Laid out rounding the home turn and continued to do so when placed under pressure in the home straight, shifting wider on the track.
 
GREEN ANCHOR – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
SHORELINE – Shifted wider to improve leaving the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight, shifting wider on the track.
 
Race 3: TAB QTIS 3YO BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP – 1000M
 
CRAIGLEA GALIO – Slow to begin.
 
TELL EVERYBODY – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Had a tendency to lay in near the 700m, crowding a runner to its inside.
 
FLINDERS HIWAY – Slow to begin.
 
LUCKY BEE – Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 700m when racing to the inside of another runner which had a tendency to lay in. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 4: TAB DOWNLOAD THE APP MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M
 
THREE POINT GENIUS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HOLOGRAM – Slow to begin. Shifted wider under hard riding in the home straight. Jockey F. Edwards was advised that a rider of his experience would be expected to make a much greater effort to keep his mounts straight in similar circumstances. Rider F. Edwards was fined $100 under AR. 137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner prior to the 100m. In considering penalty, stewards took into account jockey Edwards’ good recent record in relation to this rule.
 
CINEMATOGRAPHY – Inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
FLASH FOX – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
GAI OF THE GALAXY – Slow to begin.
 
HONEST NATALIE – Slow to begin.
 
MANGO DELIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
PLATINUM PULSE – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: TAB CLASS 2 PLATE – 1000M
 
The start of this race was delayed when rider D. Hayse requested that PARK HUSSLER undergo a veterinary examination. After being examined the mare was cleared to start.
 
The start was further delayed when JUZOU was very fractious behind the barriers and dislodged apprentice A. Thompson, who took a harmless fall in the incident. The gelding was then difficult to load into the barriers. Trainer J. Campeao was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
 
AIRACOBRA – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
BLAZON TALES – Slow into stride. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
LILY’S PRINCE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ANNE CATHERINE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
PARK HUSSLER – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 6: TAB DOWNLOAD THE APP BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1200M
 
SHROUDED – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
FLYING ONE MORE – Slow to begin.
 
GUNGA GALUNGA – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider G. Watson stated that whilst the horse is better suited over a longer distance than that of today’s race, he was nonetheless disappointed with its performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer S. Potiris was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s competitiveness.
 
ROAD FOX – Disappointed for a run near the 150m before switching back to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
FINE ‘N’ DEVINE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
REACTANT – Slow to begin.
 
SUGAR RAY RED – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
