Due to recent weather events in North Queensland stewards accepted reasons for late rider declarations and rider alterations today as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: Hygain QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1200m
 
MISSIONS ROAD – Resented racing inside runners near the 1000m and was steadied.
 
ORIENTAL GIRL – Overraced in the early and middle stages.  When questioned into its performance, rider W. D’Avila stated, in his opinion, the filly’s racing manners did not allow her to run a solid 1200m at this stage  of its career. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
EL OF A SAGA – Raced greenly for the majority of the race.
 
 
 
Race 2: TAB Download The App Maiden H’cap – 1300m
 
HONEST NATALIE – Slow to begin. Steadied near the 900m when hampered by another runner, which shifted in abruptly.
 
WRONGLY ACCUSED – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SEAMAD – Began awkwardly.
 
MUZANBOAL ROUGE – Commenced to hang in shortly after the start and shifted in abruptly near the 900m, hampering another runner. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Trainer A. Bailey was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
 
 
Race 3: Carlton United Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1609m
 
ROOSTER HUNTER – Trainer G. Horner pleaded guilty to a charge under AR227(a) in that he presented the wrong horse to the enclosure, being KEEN INSTINCT, when it should have been ROOSTER HUNTER. In considering all submissions, and taking into account the seriousness of the charge, Mr Horner was fined the sum of $500 and was advised of his rights of review.
 
REACTANT – Slow to begin.
 
JETINTOIT – Slow to begin.
 
DONAVIA – Shifted its off front plate during the preliminary and was unable to be replated, and as such stewards granted permission for the  gelding to race without its front plate.
 
LAKOTA SIOUX – Commenced to overrace leaving the 1300m, throwing its head in the air and shifted out near the 1100m, brushing another runner and becoming unbalanced.
 

Race 4: Carlton United Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1000m
 
FLAVIAN – Began awkwardly. Rider J. Felix lost the use of his near-side iron for a short distance after the start.
 
BUSTER BLOCK – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
SIMPLY MARVELLOUS – Slow to begin.
 
MR SONADOR – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and shifted out approaching the 800m, inconveniencing another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LIKER – Inconvenienced near the 800m by another runner, which was racing ungenerously and shifted out. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ROCK BABY ROLL – Began awkwardly.
 
COUNTLESS ROCK – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TAWHIRI – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 5: Paynters Construction Class 6 Plate – 1000m
 
MOLONGLE HERO – Slow into stride.
 
THE BAKER – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 6: Caltex Yabulu Class 3 H’cap – 1300m
 
FERINGO – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer R. Long was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
 
WHILE WE CAN – Slow into stride.
 
LORD ARCHER – Improved onto heels near the 500m and shifted wider.
 
REGAL EMBRACE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
THE FOX EFFECT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SAN VITTORIO – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained lacerations to the off hind leg in running.
 
Race 7: TAB Open H’cap – 1400m
 
THURSTON – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages, throwing its head in the air.
 
WARWICK AVENUE – Threw its head in the air and lost ground leaving the 1200m when being restrained in an attempt to find a position closer to the inside rail.
 
THE HARROVIAN – Steadied shortly after the start when being crowded for room.
 
BRACTEATE – Overraced in the early stages.
 
CENTRO SUPERIOR – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
