LeeBookmaker Supervisor - StewardsStarter – J. Cullen Race 1: Happy New Year From The TTC QTIS 2yo Maiden H’cap – 1000m RIVERSIDE BLUES – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority of the race. CLEVER HUNTER – Slowly away. OHANA PRINCE – Bumped with another runner on jumping, and again with the same runner near the 800m. EMMA ROCKET - Bumped with another runner on jumping, and again with the same runner near the 800m. REAL ANA – Attempted to buck shortly after the start. Eased out of the race soon after, taking no competitive part. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that the filly would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. LATINA ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the race. BOTOX LADY – App. E. Cass was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 200m when attempting to improve into a marginal run to the inside of OHANA PRINCE (J. Felix) she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of STARLET DRAGON (M. Abe) which had to be checked. In arriving at penalty stewards did take into consideration a marginal shift in from OHANA PRINCE in this incident. NORTHERN GREAT – Tired over the concluding stages. Jockey G. Watson was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the finish of the race. In arriving at penalty, Stewards took into account the strong finishing run of the race winner CLEVER HUNTER and were of the opinion that Jockey Watson’s lack of vigour had no tangible effect on the race result. Race 2: Townsville Shines Maiden Plate – 1000m HORORA VEL – Declared a late scratching at 3.10 pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the barriers and sustaining abrasions to the neck. Jockey P. Cullen who sustained a shoulder injury in the incident was attended to by QAS Officers and was cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. Trainer M A. Molino was advised the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on the gelding be refunded in full and further that the following deductions apply to all successful wagers placed on the event. 8 cents in the dollar on the face value win bets12 cents in the dollar on the face value win bets for the place 9 cents in the dollar on the face value 2nd place bets12 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets UNSHAKEABLE – A pre-race veterinary examination cleared the horse to start. Inconvenienced near the 150m by another runner which shifted in. BUOYANCY – Bumped with another runner on jumping. JACK REACHER – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted in under pressure near the 150m, inconveniencing another runner. Jockey S. Sheargold was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced wide for the majority of the race. EDGED IN LACE – Near the 500m shifted in of its own accord, making heavy contact with the running rail and blundering when in clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. COLONEL PENAGA – Raced wide for the majority of the race. ON TOP ONCE MORE - Raced wide for the majority of the race. Jockey L. Tilley was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR211 for weighing in in excess of 0.5kg overweight. Race 3: Grab Your New TTC Membership QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1300m GOTTA BE BETTER – Slowly into stride. SNOOKS – Slowly away. LUCKY ANGUS – Bumped by another runner on jumping. MOUNTAIN HALO – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Had to be restrained on several occasions when overracing in the early and middle stages. BEER ‘N’ SMOKES – Shifted in near the 1100m, tightening runners to its inside. App E. Cass was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding. Hung out in the middle stages. CRAIGLEA TOPAZ – Tightened for room near the 1100m when taken in by another runner. Laid in under pressure down the running. DEVINE MELODY – Hampered near the 1100m when tightened by a runner to its outside. Following the running of this race the track rating was upgraded to a GOOD 4. Race 4: Brown Brothers Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1400m EMSHALKY – Slowly into stride. MAKARIOS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. MIGHTY MARMALADE – Overraced in the middle stages. ROSCOMMON – Jockey B. Thomson was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. PRETTY SMART – Trainer T. Parry was advised the mare’s nominations would be refused at TAB meetings until its form improved by way of country meetings. Race 5: Carlton & United Breweries Ratings Band 0-60 H’cap – 1200m CANFORD TREE – Declared a late scratching at 1 pm on veterinary advice after being found to be lame in the near foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided prior to the horse racing again. REAGAN – Reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Trainer S. Massingham will be advised that a warning has been placed on the gelding’s pre-race manners. Disappointed for clear running on a number of occasions in the home straight. Shifted in, tightening another runner passing the 100m. On returning to scale Jockey N. Day made application to view footage of the concluding stages and after doing so elected not to proceed further. Stewards subsequently declared correct weight on the judges numbers. Jockey Day was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a). TOFF ROCKS – Slowly into stride. SIMPLY MARVELLOUS – Slowly into stride. WHILE WE CAN – Slowly into stride. ANNE CATHERINE – Bumped by another runner on jumping. URBAN MYTH – Bumped by another runner on jumping. POWER OF DIVAS – Unable to obtain clear running for the majority of the home straight. Hampered near the 100m by another runner, which shifted in. Went to the line untested. MISS POWDER KEG - Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Race 6: Sky Racing Open H’cap – 1200m ROCK SPUR – Slowly into stride. LADY SKILLS – Slowly into stride. PERFECT KNOWLEDGE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. LUSHAN – Began awkwardly. BOYER – Raced wide for the majority of the event. DEVINE SERVICE – Trainer’s representative T. Rowe advised that, in his opinion, the removal of earmuffs and the drop in handicap weight had contributed to today’s improved performance. AIRCOBRA – Stewards questioned jockey L. Tilley in relation to his apparent lack of vigour over the concluding stages. Jockey Tilley advised Stewards that he was disappointed for runs on several occasions in the home straight and as a result was unable to maintain momentum. Nonetheless Jockey Tilley was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the finish of the race. Race 7: A New Cluden Park In 2020 Class 3 Plate – 1000m MISS ESTER – Slowly into stride. Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Raced in restricted room between runners for a considerable distance leaving the 900m. Shifted in abruptly near the 800m when in clear running, making heavy contact with the inside running rail. Stewards deemed Jockey Nelson’s actions constituted careless riding and severely reprimanded her under the provisions of AR131(a). BRYAN’S BABE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced in restricted room between runners for a considerable distance leaving the 900m. CAPTAIN’S PICK – Forced wider by another runner rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the race. SHAKESPEAREAN – Hung out for the majority of the race, placing Jockey J. Felix at a disadvantage. Trainer T. Parry was advised that the gelding’s nominations would be refused at TAB meetings until its form improved by way of country meetings. CINNABARBOW – Raced wide for the majority of the race. SPARKLY STAR – Shifted out rounding the home turn forcing a runner to its outside wider. Shifted ground under pressure down the running. Jockey C.
