Thursday October 22 2020
 Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) Stewards inquired into the conduct of licensed persons Bonnie Thomson and Glenn Pierce at Burdekin Race Club on November 3 2018.
 
After considering all evidence, Ms Thomson and Mr Pierce were both charged with misconduct under AR228(b) and were both fined the sum of $500, with $200 of that amount suspended for a period of 2 years. Ms Thomson was also cautioned in relation to her obligations under AR228(d).
 
Saturday October 24 2020
Stewards today inquired into the circumstances surrounding the employment of an unlicensed stablehand by Trainer R Chillemi at Atherton on October 3 2020. After considering a submission from Mr Chillemi, Stewards found him guilty of a charge under LR43 and he was fined the sum of $200.
 
Race 1: PALLARENDA STAKES QTIS 2-Y-O Fillies Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
Eternal Bean - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Keys Please - Inclined to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Dream Luv - Raced wide in the early and middle stages and greenly throughout.
 
Hidden Joy - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
She's Atop Porsche - Slowly away. Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Vienna Cruise – As handlers were unable to fit the tongue tie due to the filly becoming fractious, it raced without that piece of gear. Slowly away. Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Anniemariah - Slowly away.
 
Gossiping Girl - Raced wide for the majority.
 
Purple Hat - Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
Shadowed Spirit - Raced wide the majority.

Yabulu Princess - Slowly away.
 
Race 2: RQ SUPPORTS SAFETY IN RACING OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
Windmill Lane - When improving near the 1100m shifted in when not full clear of another runner. App. E Cass was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) as a result of this incident. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Le Drama - Slowly away after bounding in the air on jumping. Restrained off heels near the 800m.
 
Buster Block - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Funky Music - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Restrained off heels near the 800m. Shifted out rounding the home turn inconveniencing a runner to its outside. Jockey S Sheargold was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a). Raced wide the majority.
 
Tears To Glory - Had to be restrained across the heels of another runner rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Molongle Magic - Raced wide for the majority.
 
Do The Hippy - Raced ungenerously for some distance after being crossed by another runner which was not fully clear near the 1100m.
 
Race 3: BROWN BROTHERS Class 3 Handicap 1300 metres
 
Live The Moment - Raced wide for the majority.

Disco Mo - Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
 
Hasty Heart - Was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 12:04pm after rearing in the barrier on several occasions. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on the mare be refunded in full and further that the following deductions be applicable to successful wagers:
 
16 cents in the dollar for the win and 14 cents in the dollar for the place for 1st placed DISCO MO
 
15cents in the dollar for 2nd placed HELMAZ
 
14 cents in the dollar for 3rd placed REAGAN
 
Trainer B Thomson was advised that the mare will be required to trial satisfactorily on two consecutive occasions and provide a veterinary clearance prior to again being permitted to start in a  race.
 
Pantone - Raced wide for the majority.
 
Graceful Zarifa - Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.
 
My Girl Poppy - Was disappointed when attempting a marginal run soon after straightening.
 
A Little Bit More - Raced wide for the majority.
 
More Than Good – As no other rider was available Stewards permitted F Edwards to ride the mare 1kg overweight. Slowly away. Unable to muster pace in the early and middle stages before finishing the race off fairly. Trainer B Williams was advised a warning would be place against the mare’s racing manners.
 
Race 4: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
Light Field - Slowly away.
 
Rich Princess - Slowly away. Raced ungenerously when placed in restricted room between runners near the 900m. Commenced to lay in soon after straightening having to be restrained off heels. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer T Comerford advised he will consider implementing a gear change prior to the mare’s next race start.
 
Nalssendor i- Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Seriousness - Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey S Kaya was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) for the use of his whip on two consecutive occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Race 5: PALLARENDA STAKES QTIS 2-Y-O Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
Destroy The Star - Near the 250m became unbalanced after being bumped by another runner which shifted in. Was inclined to shift ground outwards over the concluding stages. Jockey W D’Avila was reminded of his responsibilities to stop and straightened his mounts in similar circumstances.
 
It's A Ploy - Was reluctant to improve passing the 100m when crowded by a runner to its outside.

Boomed - Raced wide for the majority. After the conclusion of the race meeting App. M Potgieter reported that he had injured his right knee as his mount exited the barrier.
 
Summer Of Glory - A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Great Minds - Slowly away. Shifted in near the 250m bumping with another runner. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Shreck - Shifted out inconveniencing another runner near the 600m. Raced greenly for the majority.
 
Well Charred - Bounded in the air as the start was effect loosing considerable ground. Was taken wider by another runner passing the 600m. Near the 500m had to be restrained around the heels of another runner which was racing greenly. Obliged to ease approaching the wining post when a runner to its inside shifted out. Jockey F Edwards pleaded guilty a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner, 25 times, throughout the event. Jockey F Edwards license to ride in race was suspended or a period of 12 days commencing the 2nd November 2020 up to and including 13th of November 2020.
 
Race 6: ST FLORAL BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1609 metres
 
Aroha Te Mana - Slowly away.
 
Dream Big - Jockey A Butler was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner, 15 times, throughout the event.
 
Soldiers - Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Martial Art - Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.

Mystic Eyes - Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
San Joaquin – Over-raced in the middle stages.
