Began awkwardly, shifting out on jumping and inconveniencing another runner. Bumped by another runner which was racing greenly near the 900m and again near the 700m. Raced wide until shifting in at a point near the 400m. Performed below market expectations. Jockey F Edwards advised that his mount had been fractious behind the barriers but began fairly and travelled well throughout, failing to let down as expected when pressured in the home straight. Trainer J Fogarty advised that the intention now is to send the colt for an immediate spell and also consider a gelding operation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. GREAT MINDS - Slow to begin. Jockey S Wilson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m. BOOMED - Hampered by another runner on jumping. SHRECK - Shifted out and bumped with another runner near the 900m and again near the 700m. Raced wide rounding the home turn. Raced greenly throughout. IT’S A PLOY - Raced greenly under pressure down the running. Race 2: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1609m HADRIAN - Slow to begin. Over-raced for a short distance approaching the 800m. Obliged to ease momentarily when tightened for room between runners on entering the home straight. SOLDIERS - Over-raced for a short distance approaching the 800m. Jockey G Kliese was reprimanded under the provisions or AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m. BORELLA - Raced keenly for a short distance when crossed by another runner passing the 900m. Shifted out on entering the home straight tightening another runner. Jockey S Wilson was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident. AROHA TE MANA - Raced wide in the early stages. LIVE THE MOMENT - Raced wide in the early stages. Jockey A Butler reported that the gelding felt sore in front on returning to the mounting yard. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Nonetheless Trainer G Holt was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.Race 3: CORAL COAST SHIELD 28 NOVEMBER QTIS 3YO HANDICAP 1200m CINDERELLA ROSE - Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner. WATERWAY - Knuckled at the start and bumped with another runner. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. SANCY ROSE - Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping with another runner. Over-raced in the early stages. Took the 800m turn awkwardly and bumped with another runner.COURTING SARA - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Bumped and taken wide by another runner which took the 800m turn awkwardly. The filly which was resuming after a spell raced ungenerously for the majority and tired noticeably over the concluding stages. MOLONGLE DRIFTER - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide early. COURTESY BUS - Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner, becoming unbalanced. Raced wide early. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Jockey A Butler reported that after beginning awkwardly he elected to attempt allow the colt to find the lead without placing it under undue pressure to do so, however it was unable reach the lead as easily as expected. Jockey Butler also stated that, in his opinion, the removal of blinkers, which were replaced by winkers, had contributed to the colt not being fully switched on in today’s event. Trainer J Wehlow advised that the gear change of blinkers to winkers for today’s event would now be reversed. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 4: BROWN BROTHERS OPEN HANDICAP 1300m DEADLY CHOICES - Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. SO YOU DREAM - Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Inclined to over race in the early stages. Improved onto heels having to be restrained approaching the 800m. DORDOGNE - Inclined to over-race in the early stages. Obliged to restrain after improving onto heels passing the 600m MOLONGLE CHIEF - Became unbalanced when racing in restricted room between runners on entering the home straight. Race 5: MEMBERS XMAS PARTY 2020 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200mBOCHELY – Was withdrawn prior to scratching time with the approval of Stewards as no suitable rider was available. ALL TOO NATURAL - As the gelding was resuming after a prolonged absence from racing, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. UP THE RIVER - As the gelding was resuming after a prolonged absence from racing, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted out to avoid heels of another runner on entering the home straight inconveniencing a further runner to its outside. Inclined to shift out under pressure down the running. Jockey G Kliese was reprimanded under the provisions or AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 7 occasions, 2 more than permitted, prior to the 100m. BOSSUKA – Extremely fractious in the mounting yard dislodging its rider S Wilson who was uninjured. Trainer W Kenning was advised the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Inconvenienced when crowded for room by a runner which laid in passing the 200m. Raced wide for the majority. QUEZMAR - Began awkwardly. GLITTER EXPRESS - Bumped with another runner on jumping. LOVE OVER GOLD - Bumped with another runner on jumping. BORROMEO - Slow away after beginning awkwardly and bumping with another runner. Raced wide the majority. FOXY SECRET - Inconvenienced by another runner which shifted out on entering the home straight. HIDDEN CLASSIC - Crowded for room near the 800m. ASSETS - Took the 800m turn awkwardly, crowding another runner. Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority. Trainer C Morrison was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners. Race 6: BOOK YOUR XMAS PARTY NOW CLASS 3 PLATE 1000m RAIN ON ME - Trainer R Nelson was fined $100 for negligence under the provisions of AR227 for presenting the mare for pre-race inspection without blinkers. Began awkwardly. DO THE HIPPY - Obliged to ease when crossed by another runner passing the 700m. THE FRONTIER - Shifted out on entering the home straight bumping with another runner. BONDAGE - Bumped by another runner which shifted out on entering the home straight. COLD POWER - Momentarily inconvenienced when racing in restricted room passing the 700m. MORE THAN GOOD - Raced wide for the majority. Race 7: HOLD YOUR EVENT @ CLUDEN PARK CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200mURBAN MYTH - Slow to begin. PAST READY - Slow to begin. STOLEN DIAMONDS – Held up for clear running near the 250m. DOUBLE DENMAN - Raced wide throughout. WRITER’S BLOCK - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. SIZZLESUN - Began awkwardly, bumped with another runner and was slowly into stride as a result. Bumped with another runner passing the 700m. Inclined to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages. Jockey F Edwards was reminded of his obligation to stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances.FUTURE DREAMS - Bumped with another runner passing the 700m. Raced wide the majority. MODERNISM - Restrained early in an effort to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail. Was unable to muster the necessary pace to maintain contact with the body of the field approaching the 1000m before finishing off well. Stewards inquired into the reason SIZZLESUN (F Edwards) was restrained passing the 250m. After taking evidence from the riders involved and viewing the patrol footage it was ascertained that PAST READY (W D’Avila), when tiring, shifted in marginally, tightening SIZZLESUN, which was improving rapidly along the inside running rail, causing that runner to become momentarily unbalanced making contact with the running rail and having to be restrained. Jockey D’Avilla was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident.
