GENERAL Trainer A Bailey advised Stewards that as a result of transport difficulties he would be slightly delayed in arriving on course. Mr Bailey arrived on course at 11:40am. Raced wide for the majority. Performed disappointingly. Jockey M McGillivray advised that the horse never felt totally comfortable in running and after being caught wide for the duration of the event failed to let down as expected in the home straight. Mr Bailey further advised that he would now consider sending the gelding for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards inquired into the reason/s BOTOX LAY (App E Cass) was obliged to check and VIZONE (A Sewell) was obliged to steady passing the 100m. After taking evidence from the riders involved and viewing the patrol footage it was ascertained that passing the 100m LITTLE IVY (S Wilson) had shifted in onto the running of BOTOX LADY which had been obliged to check and shift in to avoid heels and in doing so had hampered VIZONE which, though it was tiring, was obliged to steady. Jockey Wilson was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that he did permit his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of BOTOX LADY which was obliged to check and shift in onto the running of VIZONE which was obliged to steady. Jockey Wilsons licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence 14th May 2021 up to and including 22nd May 2021. In determining penalty Stewards took into consideration the severity of the interference, which was deemed to be in the low range and Jockey Wilsons good recent record in relation to the rule. Stewards also noted there was a marginal effort made by Jockey Wilson to straighten his mount subsequent to shifting in but deemed that effort to be insufficient in this circumstance.
