LAWRENCE & HANSON CLASSIC PRELUDE QTIS 2YO HANDICAP 1200mGO GETABOY – Trainer R Chillemi was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR106(1) in that GO GETABOY was presented for inspection without the Blinkers fitted.MISSION ESTATE – Shifted out on jumping bumping with MISSILE THUNDER. Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted out when placed under pressure in the home straight.NEVETON – Restrained soon after jumping to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail.REFUEL – Eased off heels near the 900m.LORD POWER – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on heels soon after straightening.MISSILE THUNDER – Shifted wider rounding the home turn.Race 2. TAB QTIS 2YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000mThe start of this race was delayed due to QAS Officers being required to attend to a race day contractor who became ill.MISHANI MENACE – Slow into stride.OUR ADDICTION – Slowly away.WORTHY ESSGEE – Slow into stride. Bumped with BREAKWATER BOY on several occasions when racing tightly near the 900m. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.BREAKWATER BOY – Slow into stride. Raced very ungenerously in the middle stages poving difficult to ride. Raced very greenly in the home straight.SO NOBLE – Bumped with MR KOBO soon after jumping.MR KOBO – Bumped with SO NOBLE soon after jumping.BEAU EPOCH – Inconvenienced soon after the start by D’ORO CHOICE. Raced wide for the majority.D’ORO CHOICE – Inclined to lay in through the early stages inconveniencing BEAU EPOCH. Performed below market expectations . Jockey W D’Avila advised that the gelding failed to respond to his riding and that in his opinion, it would benefit from a gear change. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.TO BOOGIE – Raced wide for the majority. Performed below market expectations. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.CLASSY ART – Commenced to lose ground near the 600. Raced wide for the majority. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.Race 3. PEN TO PAPER OFFICE CHOICE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000mPRIVATE SECTOR – Reluctant to load. Began very awkwardly inconveniencing GYPSY KING. Trainer T Clive was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.SOUL CONEXION – Restrained in the early stages in order to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail.SUPER RUPERT – Slowly away. Bumped heavily with TRUE SPEAKER and became unbalanced soon after jumping. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.SUPER FAST – Slowly away. Shifted out rounding the home turn placing CHATEAU ROYALE in restricted room. Apprentice M Potgieter was advised to exercise greater under similar circumstances.ARMAGEDDON FLYER – Shifted in on jumping inconveniencing SUPER FAST. Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted in rounding the home turn when commencing to tire.GYSPY KING – Inconvenienced soon after jumping when PRIVATE SECTOR shifted in. Over-raced in the early stages.CHATEAU ROYALE – Raced wide in the early stages. Eased when placed in restricted room between SUPER FAST and ARMAGEDDON FLYER near the 300m.TRUE SPEAKER – Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the off hind leg consistent with having been galloped on in running.Race 4. VALE GILBERT FARRELL SNR CLASS 6 PLATE 1400mSHADOW GODDESS – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.BOOM GATE – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.BOONA BOY – Shifted out on jumping bumping with ZEPPELIN.SOUTHERN SWING – Restrained off heels near the 800m and over-raced for a short distance thereafter.Race 5. HYGAIN RATINGS BAND 0-58 HANDICAP (2) 1400mCROSSFIRE ROAD – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.SOUND OF SLEAT – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Shifted wider from the 600m.WINE TALKS – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Bumped with NOIR JACK near the 1250m. Over-raced in the middle stages. Jockey R Wiggins was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. This was Jockey Wiggins’ 2nd offence under this specific rule.MYSTERY ‘N’ MAGIC – Raced ungenerously for a short distance passing the 900m. Raced wide from the 600m.LIGHTEMUP JERRY – Raced wide in the middle stages.NIAB – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.Race 6. CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES RATINGS BAND 0-58 HANDICAP 1400mTODWICK – Shifted out on jumping inconveniencing CHOMPERS. Restrained and shifted out near the 800m to avoid heels, consequently inconveniencing OWNED UP. Jockey J Baker reported that the mare was inclined to race ungenerously for the majority. CHOMPERS – Tightened between runners soon after jumping. Raced very wide rounding the home turn.POTAWATOMI – Tightened between runners soon after jumping. Raced very wide rounding the home turn.SECLUSION – Restrained off heels near the 800m.OWNED UP – Inconvenienced near the 800m when TODWICK shifted out, consequently inconveniencing FRESH PRINCE.FRESH PRINCE – Inconvenienced near the 800m. Raced wide for the majority.ALLANON – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 100m.COOLMEANS (NZ) – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.Race 7. MAKK ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000mDON’T WHISPER – Slowly away.WIDESPREAD – Slowly away.OLINDO – Near the 850m faltered when in clear running and fell shortly after dislodging Apprentice M Potgieter who was attended by QAS Officers and transferred to Townsville Hospital for further treatment to an ankle injury. App Potgieter will require a medical clearance prior to resuming race riding. A subsequent Veterinary examination of OLINDO revealed a suspected fracture to the near shoulder, resulting in the gelding being euthanised on humane grounds. AUDI CENTRE TOWNSVILLE NORTHERN JEWEL QTIS 3YO HANDICAP 1300mDue to an administrative oversight, LATERALLY, which is not QTIS registered, was a final acceptor for this event. Stewards, acting under the provisions of AR53 ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 11.45am on Wednesday 18th May. After giving the matter due consideration, Stewards took no further action. Following the incident in Race 7 there was a lengthy delay to the start of Race 8. Race 8 was subsequently reprogrammed to a new advertised start time of 5:05pm.FIRE KING – Trainer O Cairns was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR30(b) in the she failed to present the gelding on course by the required time.GOLD TRICKLE – Trainer C Morrison was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR30(b) in that she failed to present the filly on course by the required time. Raced wide for the majority. Trainer C Morrison was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s pre-race behaviour.VALLEY RATTLER – Very slowly away.GUAPO – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.DESTROY THE STAR – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.PROPHETESS – Raced wide for the majority. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed a poor recovery.Race 9. WILLOWS POOL SHOP OPEN HANDICAP 1200mThis race was reprogrammed to a new advertised start time of 5:30pm.FULL RECONGNITION – Slowly away.SO YOU DREAM – Began very awkwardly making heavy contact with LOVE IS BLIND.LOVE IS BLIND – Bumped heavily soon after jumping when SO YOU DREAM shifted out.
