YARRALINDA – A post-race Veterinary examination revealed bruising to both hind fetlocks consistent with having been galloped on in running. Stewards inquired into an protracted incident which took place between the 200m and the 50m, resulting in KAMARCHER being severely checked. After hearing submissions from all parties involved and viewing patrol footage it was established that after being disappointed for a run between YARRALINDA (App J Cornish) and KING JESTER (R Wiggins) approaching the 200m, Jockey D Smith (KAMARCHER) elected to attempt to secure a marginal rails run to the inside of YARRALINDA, which was gradually shifting in marginally at the time, further minimising the racing room available to KAMARCHER. Passing the 100m KING JESTER shifted to obtain clear running to the inside of HALLSIDE HAMMER (App I Teh) preventing App Cornish from relieving any pressure being experienced by KAMARCHER, which made contact with the running rail near the 50m and blundered.
