Russo advised he was not satisfied with the gelding’s lead up to today’s event. Mr Russo was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance of fitness for Mr Kobo prior to its next race start. The following overweights were permitted by Stewards:Race 3. N Day +1kgRace 6. A Layt +1kgRace 1: NHP QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 MetresMISHANI DUDE – Delayed the start when the saddle shifted enroute to the barriers requiring it to be re-saddled. Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. SUPER FAST – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground. Threw its head in the air when being restrained near the 900 metres. FIERY EXCHANGE – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 300 metres tightening RAPID STYLE which had to restrained. Rider N. Day was reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground. RAPID STYLE –Tightened for room near the 300 metres and was restrained. Raced wide for the majority. SOUL CONEXION – Raced wide for the majority. Race 2: KLEIN TOOLS Maiden Plate 1200 MetresLATERALLY – Slow to begin. DIVINE WIT – Restrained off heels near the 750 metres. Bumped near the 300 metres and became unbalanced. Jockey R. Wiggins was fined $100 for use of the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(i) GYPSY KING – Raced ungenerously when crowded for room near the 850 metres. Restrained off heels near the 200 metres. TRUE SPEAKER – Wide for the majority of the race. CLASSIC ENUFF – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Raced wide in the early stages and tired over the concluding stages. LITTLE RED PEPPER – Restrained off heels near the 750 metres. Shifted out near the 300 metres bumping DIVINE WIT. LISTEN LISTEN – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority. Race 3: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap1200 MetresRAISE DA VIBRATION – Slow to begin. Had its momentum checked near the 1000 metres when tightened for room. POLHAMPTON – Began awkwardly. I AM CLEVER – Slow to begin. Shifted out near the 200 metres momentarily crowding MYSTIC EYES. JACJAC JACQUI – Shifted in near the 1000 metres tightening RAISE DA VIBRATION. Rider D. Smith (JACJAC JACQUI) was severely reprimanded and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground. Over-raced in the middle stages. MYSTIC EYES – Crowded for room near the 200 metres. Raced wide for the majority. CALCULUS – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority. RUN RAMPANT – Raced wide for the majority. KEIGHLEY SUN – Raced wide for the majority. Race 4: PIERLITE BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 MetresSHE'S MAGANDA – The mare which competed at Mackay 9 June 2022 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority.LAPSEKI – Connections advised it would be the intention to ride the mare in forward position if circumstances permitted. Punters were informed via on-course public address and social media. Slowly into stride and was unable to muster early speed. Bumped near the 200 metres.CUNNAMULLA – Shifted in soon after the start making heaving contact with FUDGING, and again near the 1000 metres. Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of lameness in the near fore fetlock.FUDGING – Bumped heavily soon after the start and again near the 1000 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. FUDGING shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(4)JOEL – Slow to begin. TAWHIRI – Bumped near the 200 metres. Raced wide for the majority. LIGHTHEADEDNESS – Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: NEXANS OLEX BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 MetresTHE GRADUATE – Raced very ungenerously for a short distance soon after the start. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. STARFILLY – Shifted in soon after the start hampering GO DEEP.GO DEEP – Hampered shortly after the start and was restrained. Held up for clear running near the 200 metres before shifting out hampering AUXIN. Rider A. Layt was advised to exercise more care. AUXIN – Momentarily hampered near the 200 metres.COCO CUBER – Raced wide for the majority. TRAVERS – Raced wide for the majority. CURVETTA – Raced wide for the majority. Race 6: CLIPSAL-SCHNEIDER BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1900 MetresCHOMPERS – Slowly away. Correct weight was delayed to ascertain if the gelding was afforded a fair start. After viewing of the film in the presence of stable representative Mr B. Herne and starter Mr J. Cullen it was established that CHOMPERS dropped its head just prior to the start being effected and lost considerable ground and as such was declared a starter.LINCOLN FURY – Slow to begin. Over-raced in middle stages. REBEL LAKE – Shifted in on jumping bumping with QUEEN OF MANHATTEN. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. QUEEN OF MANHATTAN – Shifted out at the start bumping with REBEL LAKE. Laid out near the 500 metres hampering ZEPPELIN.AKATINO (GER) – Over-raced for some distance leaving the 1000 metres. Shifted wider to commence a forward move leaving the 600 metres. ZEPPELIN – Momentarily hampered near the 500 metres. CONQUERING JUDAS – Over-raced in middle stages. SALSA DREAMING – Over-raced in middle stages. MUFASTA – Raced wide for the majority.Race 7: LAWRENCE & HANSON QTIS 2YO CLASSIC 1200 MetresDASHING GEE GEE – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of its rider and was cleared to start. Blundered shortly after jumping. MISSILE THUNDER – Shifted out at the start bumping with TOUR DE DREAM. Shifted in a short distance later and was bumped heavily on the hind quarters becoming unbalanced.BLONDIE'S SECRET – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. A short distance after the start shifted out bumping MISSILE THUNDER heavily on the hind quarters. GO GETABOY – Began awkwardly. HEROIC BOY – Began awkwardly. BREAKWATER BOY – Shifted out at the start bumping BLONDIES SECRET. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. BETTER RAIN – Raced wide for the majority. TOUR DE DREAM – Raced wide for the majority. Hung out for the majority of the race and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the filly’s lower jaw. Trainer J.
