Day was delayed due to transportation difficulties he was replaced as per steward’s summary. Race 1: TAB QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1200 MetresCorrect weight was delayed to allow apprentice C. Collis (ZIPPING IRISH) which finished second to view the stewards patrol footage to ascertain if he grounds to lodge an objection against the winner HEROIC BOY (G. Kliese) alleging interference near the 800 metres. After viewing the film and considering the margin between the runners at the finish, apprentice Collis declined to proceed and correct weight was given on the judges semaphored numbers. HEROIC BOY – Shifted out at the start bumping ZIPPING IRISH. Forced wider near the 850 metres by WICKED CHANCE which was racing ungenerously and then shifted back in near the 800 metres crowding ZIPPING IRISH which had improved to its inside. ZIPPING IRISH – Bumped on jumping. Steadied near the 800 metres when crowded for room.HEARTSAREROMAN – Slow to begin. Shifted in near the 100 metres when being urged forward and racing greenly crowding NEVETON. NUCLEAR GIRL – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. NEVETON – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages and restrained from heels near the 600 metres. Steadied near the 100 metres when crowded for room.WICKED CHANCE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and shifted out near the 850 metres momentarily forcing HEROIC BOY wider. Race 2: PARMI NIGHT TONIGHT @ CLUDEN PARK Maiden Plate 1400 MetresTEX'S GIRLS (NZ) – Slow to begin. Lost its near hind plate during running. GINASUE – Slow to begin. LITTLE RED PEPPER – Over-raced in the early stages.STEALTH FLYER – Laid out for the majority of the race proving difficult to ride. Trainer C. Taylor was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. LUMERAI – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SEBROSSA – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 3: HYGAIN BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1609 MetresCONQUERING JUDAS – Slow to begin. FORSETI – Slow to begin. HE WILL ACHEEV – Over-raced and refused to settle in the early and middle stages despite the efforts of its rider apprentice I. Teh. STAR MIDFIELDER – Rider R. Wiggins advised stewards on returning to scale that in his opinion the gelding failed to run the distance out solidly. Race 4: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1000 MetresMATTERHORN (NZ) – Slow to begin.GO DEEP – Slow to begin. EXACTAMENTE – Bounded in the air as the start was effected. Shifted in marginally under pressure leaving the 200 metres crowding REDZEB. Raced wide for the majority of the race.REDZEB – Raced in restricted room leaving the 200 metres between HARALBEN and EXACTAMENTE which shifted in marginally under pressure. HARALBEN – Raced wide for the majority of the race. ALL TO DO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.Race 5: CLUDEN PARK Class 1 Handicap 1000 MetresROTHERO ESSGEE – Began awkwardly. Shifted out abruptly near the 250 metres to obtain clear running inconveniencing JOHNY THUNDER. Rider C. Spry was reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground. VELOURS BLEU – Bumped shortly after the start. Crowded for room near the 900 metres and shifted in placing VISTA ORIENTAL in restricted room. Restrained off heels near the 400 metres. Crowded for room near the 100 metres by VISTA ORIENTLE which blundered when being restrained from heels. VISTA ORIENTAL – Restrained when placed in restricted room near the 900 metres and lost ground. Restrained from the heels of HEISWOODY approaching the 100 metres and blundered when switching to the inside of that runner, crowding the running of VELOURS BLEU. ARCHIE'S LAW – Began awkwardly. When questioned into its improved performance today as opposed to its previous start Bowen 1 September 2022, jockey F. Edwards stated the gelding was very agitated on the day prior to the start and after beginning very well had led which in his opinion was unsuitable and this was a telling factor. Connections agreed with jockey Edwards comments and further added that ARCHIES LAW had been freshened up since that run. Stewards noted the explanations. HEISWOODY – Buffeted between runners on jumping. Raced ungenerously near the 900 metres and shifted in crowding VELOURS BLEU. JOHNNY THUNDER – Inconvenienced by ROTHERO ESSGEE which shifted out abruptly near the 250 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race. DREAMLINE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
