McIntosh SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT GENERAL Stewards approved a late notification of rider for Race 6 – Break My Stride (App O. Kendall), after hearing the explanation of Trainer B Williams. Race 1: MITAVITE QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres Average Jane – Race greenly in the early and middle stages. Steadied off heels at the 600 metres. Hung in over the final 150 metres. This Girl's Ready – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race 2: HYGAIN QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres Baby Guinness – Raced wide in the early stages. Neveton – Approaching the 100m was disappointed for a run and shifted out hampering another runner. Don't Tell Leeanne – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted out near the 400m hampering another runner, Jockey N. Day was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. Hung in over the concluding stages. Missa Stitch – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Heroic Angel – Raced wide in the early stages. Worthy Essgee – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Jockey B. Thomson reported to Stewards that she believed the gelding may have gotten its tongue over the bit in running. Ratalouie – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shortly after the start shifted in and away from another runner. When racing greenly near the 400m had to be momentarily eased off the heels of another runner which shifted out. Hampered near the 100m. Race 3: TAB Maiden Handicap 1300 metres Haven Road – Due to not having started for an extended period, the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start in the event. The Virus – Began awkwardly. Fine Impact – Jockey J. Taylor advised stewards he was of the opinion the horse may have got its tongue over the bit in running. Trainer F. Wieland advised he will implement a gear change prior to its next race start. Shez The Wolf – Tightened for room around 1200m when Zoomaratta shifted in. Raced wide throughout. Unusual Lad – Had to be steadied around the 1000m when became tightened for room. Echelon Magic – Slow to begin. Cool Harry – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Dream Luv – Approaching the 1000m commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out checking Zoomaratta. Raced wide in the middle stages. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. A warning was issued to the connections of Dream Luv regarding the horses performance. Zoomaratta – Raced ungenerously for some distance in the back straight. Race 4: LACEY MORRISON JOCKEY OF THE YEAR Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres Whispering Tycoon – Raced wide for the majority. Jockey F. Edwards reported that the gelding had got its tongue over the bit in running. Jockey Edwards advised Trainer R Ludwig that the gelding had travelled well in running until the home turn and he believed that after getting its tongue over the bit, Whispering Tycoon had choked down. Trainer R. Ludwig advised that Whispering Tycoon was having his first race start for his stable and that the gelding had raced with a tongue tie for the previous trainer. He had elected to remove this gear on taking over the training and now believed this had been an error. He advised Stewards he would re-apply a tongue tie prior to its next race start. Trainer R Ludwig was contacted by Stewards on 21 November 2022, and he advised that Whispering Tycoon had pulled up well and he expected that the addition of the tongue in future starts would benefit the gelding. Whits End – Raced wide for the majority. Dynamic Artist – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running until the 100m. Master Orr – Jumped awkwardly hampering Dynamic Artist, Whispering Tycoon, Burne Jones and Delusional. Master Orr, lost the off-fore plate in running at approximately the 200m. You're Next – Due to not having started for an extended period, the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was fit to start in the event. Burne Jones – At the 150m was disappointed for a run to the inside of Whit’s End and had to be restrained. Delusional returned to scale with blood in the offside nostril and underwent a post-race veterinary examination which found this was attributed to trauma. Well Charred – At the 700m was steadied across the heels of Golden Chances. Jockey L. Morrison reported that the gelding raced ungenerously from the wide alley. Raced wide for the majority. Explosive Girl – Raced wide in the early stages From the 700m commenced to hang in and raced ungenerously until the home turn.. Golden Chances – Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: MISSILE THUNDER HORSE OF THE YEAR BENCHMARK 65Handicap 1000 metres Positive Tension – Raced wide for the majority. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Just A Love Song – Raced wide for the majority. Red Peroni – Slow to begin. App. Jockey J. Molloy was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for allowing his mount to shift in when not fully clear of Jockey J. Taylor (Kiss Me Later) at approximately the 900m. Held up and unable to improve from the 500m to the 250m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside fetlock. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to the gelding’s next race start or trial. Kiss Me Later – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 500m until the 200m. Bay Of Bengal – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being affected. Supposedly Wicked – Bumped with Anniemariah as the start was affected. Raced wide for the majority. Race 6: TOWNSVILLE AMATEUR CUP OPEN Handicap 1609 metres Hell Of A Boy – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority. Dalon – Post race was showing signs of discomfort in tie up stalls. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer I. Coleman was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to the geldings next race start or trial. Heirborn (NZ) – Slow to begin. Commenced to over race as it entered the back straight. Raced wide for the majority. Witsabouthim (NZ) – Reared in the barriers as the start was affected. Held up at the 300 metres and had to be eased wider to obtain clear running. Lets Torque A Deel – Raced wide for the majority. Gaius Julius – Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. Siren Rock, Helmaz, Break My Stride, - All slow into stride. Race 7: TOWNSVILLE AMATEUR SPRINT OPEN Handicap1200 metres Fortification – Bumped with Funky Music on jumping. Silent Explorer – Shifted out under pressure making the home turn. Funky Music – Bumped on jumping. Failed to obtain clear running in the home straight. Simply Splashing – Unable to muster pace in the early stages. Ashton Blair – Was declared a late scratching at 5:02pm after being fractious in the barriers. The gelding sustained an injury to the offside hindleg and was withdrawn by the stewards acting on veterinary advice. Prior to correct weight being declared, all monies invested on Ashton Blair were ordered to be refunded in full and the following deductions to be applied to winnings bets. 1 cents on the dollar for the win Yes Dream2 cents on the dollar for the place of winner Yes Dream4 cents on the dollar for 2nd place Bondi Beau4 cents on the dollar for 3rd place Miss Seattle Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which confirmed the injury to the offside hindleg. Dusky Damsel – Raced wide throughout. Lifetime Quest – Raced wide with cover throughout. Race 8: ROY CHILLEMI TRAINER OF THE YEAR Class 3 Plate 1200 metres Count Of Carford – Was declared a late scratching at 5:38pm after being fractious in the barriers. The gelding sustained an injury to the offside foreleg and was withdrawn by the stewards acting on veterinary advice. Prior to the correct weight being declared, all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded in full and the following deductions to be applied to winnings bets. 3 cents on the dollar for the win Finally Realise4 cents on the dollar for the place of winner Finally Realise3 cents on the dollar for 2nd place Never Cry3 cents on the dollar for 3rd place Bellevita Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which confirmed the injury to the offside foreleg. Trainer S. Royes was advised that he will need to provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding prior to its next race start or trial and will need obtain a further barrier certificate. Finally Realise – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the middle stages. Hallside Hammer – Approaching the 100m, shortly after being struck with the whip, became unbalanced and lost ground sharply. Never Cry – Stewards adjourned an inquiry until and time and date to be fixed into Jockey N. Day’s use of the whip in this race. Side Hustle – Raced wide for the majority. Severely checked at the 100 metres. Redzeb – App. Jockey O. Kendal pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131 (a) in that she allowed her mount to shift out at the 100 metres causing Side Hustle to be checked. In assessing penalty Stewards considered that Apprentice O. Kendal was currently riding under two separate current “Stay of Proceedings” for recent breaches of AR131 (a) and ordered her licence to ride in races be suspended for this matter to take effect from midnight 23 December 2022 until midnight 6 January 2023 (14 days). Bellevita – When over racing had to be eased off the heels of Redzeb at the 500m. Courting Sara – Raced wide for the majority. Stewards will schedule an enquiry for a time and date to be fixed into the conduct and actions of Jockey M Murphy in this incident. M. Murphy was examined by the QAS officers and cleared to fulfill his remaining engagements.
