SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweights–;
 
Race 4: L Morrison (Jester Statement) + 1.0 KG.
 
Race 7: C Whiteley (Botox Lady) + 0.5 KG.
 
Due to morning rain, the internal sand track was unsuitable for the Ambulance to follow the field for all races and Club Staff were stationed with QAS Officers in the infield to provide an immediate / alternate transport means if required. 
 
Race 1: CLUDEN PARK QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
Eyes Are Lion – Raced three wide without cover.
 
Hey Bull –Slow to begin. Shifted out when steadied at the 900 metres hampering Hughie
 
Vuitton- Onreturning to the saddling enclosure, Jockey C Spry was fatiguedand required assistance to weigh in. Jockey C Spry had no further scheduled engagements for the meeting.
 
Turn Bird – Had to besteadied for some distance when racing on the heels of Gabby’s Ready approaching the 250 metres.
 
Come On Let's Kiss – Jockey P Romeo reported that the filly got its tongue over the bit at the 600 metres.
 
Puss Boots – Shifted out abruptly on straightening at the 350 metres.
 
Race 2: TAB BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1609 metres
 
Conquering Judas – Shifted out to improve on straightening at the 350 metres and bumped Aurion.
 
Side Hustle – Hampered at the 1500 metres. Trainer L Hatch advised that Side Hustle which raced disappointingly will be sent for a spell.
 
Auron – Shifted in and bumped Side Hustle at the 1500 metres. Consequently, both became unbalanced. Bumped by another runner at the 350 metres.
 
Gaius Julius  - Raced three wide to the 1000 metres without cover.
 
Race 3: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES Class 3 Plate 1400 metres
 
Style Seeker (NZ) – Shifted out and bumped Ciao Bicky on two occasions between the 250 metres and 100 metres.
 
Ciao Bicky – Bumped by another runner on two occasions in the home straight.
 
Fandral – Jumped awkwardly and commenced to overrace shortly after the start. Tired over the concluding stages and finished distanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering mild dehydration.
 
Lightheadedness – Eased around heels at the 150 metres top obtain clear running.
 
Race 4: BROWN BROTHERS Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
Shezablast- Had to steadied off the heels of Enuff Gold at the 450 metres.

Lenny Rocket – Began awkwardly and raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Miss Tittle Tat – Apprentice M Potgieter was questioned regarding the riding tactics he adopted on the filly in particular his decision to ride the filly forward in todays event. He advised that connections had instructed him to ride the filly in a forward position just off the speed.  He stated that after beginning well and racing forward outside the leader Lenny Rocket, his mount Miss Tittle Tat commenced to overrace, and he was having difficulty steading the filly. The explanation of Apprentice M Potgieter was noted.

 
 
Our Young Man – Trainer R Hermann was questioned regarding the reason he presented the gelding to race without the approved gear “Winkers”. After hearing an explanation from Trainer R Hermann , he was issued with a reprimand under the provision of AR106 (1). At the 500 metres Our Young Man became unbalanced and shifted in striking the running rail.
 
Race 5: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres
 
Fodor – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace between the 900 metres and 800 metres. Checked on the home turn when another runner shifted out.
 
Flaming Homer – Commenced to overrace and hang out from the 600 metres. Hung out making the home turn.
 
Wicked Chance – When held up for clear running making the home turn, Wicked Chance wassteadied off the heels of the leader Flaming Homor which commenced to hang out. Wicked Chance shifted out abruptly and made heavy contact on two occasions with Fodor. Jockey J Murphy became momentarily unbalanced in the saddle because of the heavy contact. At the 200 metres Wicked Chance had to be steadied around heels to obtain clear running.
 
Soul Surfer - Slow to muster early speed
 
City Mission – Jumped awkwardly. .A post-race veterinary examination of City Mission revealed a small skin laceration to the near foreleg below the knee. Trainer J McConachy was notified that he will be required to provide a veterinary clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
 
Race 6: MITAVITE OPEN Handicap 1400 metres
 
Hell Of A Boy – Slow into stride. Shifted in at the 900 metres causing a tightening to another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Shifted in approaching the finish and had to be straightened by its rider. Apprentice I Teh (Hell of A Boy) was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift in when not clear at that stage.
 
Tennessee Boy – Steadied at the 900 metres when Hell of a Boy shifted in. 
 
Zeppelin – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: HYGAIN BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Lily Allez (NZ) - Jockey S Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount Lily Allez (NZ) to shift out under hard riding over the final 200 metres checking Sirianni. Jockey S Sheargold’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 29 January 2022 and expire midnight 6 February 2022 (8 days). In assessing penalty, Stewards considered Jockey Sheargold’s good riding record in relation to the rule.
 
Sirianni - Correct weight was delayed when the third placegetter, Jockey L Morrison (SIRIANNI) requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against the first placegetter Lily Allez (NZ) (S. Sheargold) After viewing the stewards patrol films jockey L Morrison advised that she did not wish to proceed with the protest.
 
Glorious Express – Shifted out to improve at the 300 metres and bumped Boomalina (A. Layt)placing that mare off balance. Over the concluding stages Glorious Express continued to shift ground outwards hampering Boomalina and again made heavy contact at the 120 metres. Stewards intend to question jockey’s R Wiggins and A Layt in relation to this matter at a time and date to be fixed.
 
Coco Cuber – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
Boomalina – Bumped and placed off balance on a number of occasions over the final 250 metres.
 
Wren Plucked – Raced ungenerously and lost ground after passing the 500 metres.
 
Right Bower – Blundered when the gates opened and lost ground.
 
Botox Lady – Raced wide.
 
Tiny Tiara – A pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers revealed that the mare was lame in the off foreleg. Trainer C McCann was notified that she will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
Following the late scratching of Tint Tiara the following deductions were imposed -
 
1 cents in the dollar for the winner Lily Allez (NZ)
2 cents in the dollar for the place of winner Lily Allez (NZ)
1 cents in the dollar for 2nd place Snap Chat
1 cents in the dollar for 3rd place Sirianni
 
 
Race 8: NEXT RACE MEETING SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1000 metres
 

Endorse – Checked at the start.
 
Kiss Me Later – Shifted in under riding after passing the 200 metres hampering Wanna Tweet. Jockey D Smith (Kiss Me Later) was severely reprimanded for failing to stop riding his mount and straighten Kiss Me Later when it commenced to shift ground inwards.
 
Mystery 'N' Magic – Jumpedawkwardly outwards onto the hindquarters of Rigel. Hampered between the 300 metres and 200 metres by another runner which shifted out.
 
Hurtle - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering mild dehydration.
 
Stifling – Jumped inwards at the start checking Endorse.Shifted out to obtain clear running at the 300 metres and hampered Mystery “N” Magic which was forced extremely wide.
 
Wanna Tweet – Jockey L Morrison had to stop riding Wanna Tweet at the 200 metres when another runner to her outside shifted in.
 
Splendarama – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
