GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweights:

Race 1: LADBROKES MATES MODE QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
HEROIC ROCKET – Inconvenienced on jumping when LOVE’N’VISION shifted out. Approaching the 200m, improved into a run to the inside SECRET ENCRYPTION, who was laying in and as a result HEROIC ROCKET raced in restricted room for several strides.
 
SECRET ENCRYPTION – Shifted in on jumping and bumped with MARGOT BARBIE. Inside the 800m commenced to race ungenerously and lost ground.
 
MARGOT BARBIE – Shifted out on jumping and bumped with SECRET ENCRYPTION. Over raced during the early and middle stages of the event.
 
LOVE 'N' VISION – Shifted out on jumping away. Raced greenly throughout.
 
Race 2: LONE WOLF SECURITY Maiden Handicap 1300 metres
 
 
SHORTFIN MAKO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Inside the 500m, improved onto the heels of LORD PROPHET and again at the 300m and had to be restrained. Thereafter commenced to race extremely fiercely, and shifted out abruptly, contacting CHRISTMAS TIME who was taken out onto LAIDE. A post- race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer M. Brand was advised that the gelding must now trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
 
JAZZ WORTHY – Lost its off fore plate in running. In the vicinity of the 100m, shifted in before being corrected by its rider, taking OH MY HAT in momentarily.
 
LORD PROPHET – Commenced to weaken and shift about in the straight despite the efforts of its rider.

CHRISTMAS TIME – In the vicinity of the 300m, was contacted heavily by LORD PROPHET who was racing greenly, unbalancing T. Fenlon the rider of CHRISTMAS TIME and taking that runner wider on the track.
 
HUGHIE VUITTON – Began awkwardly and shifted in. In the vicinity of the 300m, clipped the heels of LAIDE who was carried wider on the track by CHRISTMAS TIME.
 
LAIDE - Permission was granted for Apprentice R. Wilson to only claim 2.5kg of her 3kg allowance. Apprentice R. Wilson was reprimanded pursuant to AR143(14)(a) in that she failed to claim her full allowance. In the vicinity of the 300m was taken wider on the track by CHRISTMAS TIME.
 
MISSIN' DE QUO – Raced wide with cover during the early stages of the event.
 
OH MY HAT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked behind the barriers and was passed fit to race. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
Race 3: NORTH EAST EVENT HEALTH SERVICES BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres
 
CAPTAIN BOND – Approaching the 700m blundered and became unbalanced momentarily.
 
BAY OF BENGAL – Approaching the 700m, was obliged to ease off the heels of TRAVERS who shifted in under riding.
 
KISS ME LATER – Raced wide throughout.
 
COLD POWER – Slow to begin.
 
FORSETI – Slow to begin and shifted in to gain a position closer to the inside rail.
 
HIT SNOOZE – Began awkwardly.
 
TRAVERS – Approaching the 700m, shifted in when insufficiently clear of BAY OF BENGAL, resulting in that horse having to be checked and subsequently was taken in onto WANNA TWEET. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
WANNA TWEET – Lost its near fore plate in running. Approaching the 700m was taken in by BAY OF BENGAL who had to check to avoid the heels of TRAVERS who shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey Over raced during the early and middle stages of the event. Jockey R. Olivera was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
 
 
OUR ADDICTION – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 4: QUEENSLAND THOROUGHBRED OWNERS ASSOCIATION Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres
 
HEZABUSYBEE – In the vicinity of the 700m, was obliged to ease and raced in restricted room momentarily when NONNO JOE shifted out as DONENOTHING rolled in simultaneously. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
NEW ARRIVAL – Reared as the start was affected and as a result was slow into stride. Inside the 200m shifted out and away from BETTER NOT FUSS and then commenced to race greenly.
 
COODARADY – Approaching the 300m, shifted out inconveniencing NONNO JOE.
 
KIHI – Raced wide without cover.
 
BETTER NOT FUSS – Hampered on jumping away. Inside the 200m, shifted out to obtain clear running.  
 
POWER PUFF – Restrained from a wide barrier to gain a position with cover closer to the rail.
 
DONENOTHING – Raced wide without cover throughout. In the vicinity of the 700m, rolled in momentarily.
 
HEROIC KITTY – Raced wide throughout.
 
SALIKA DIVA – Shifted in on jumping away, hampering BETTER NOT FUSS.
 
VAGABOND PRINCE – Jockey A, Sewell reported at scale that his mount raced greenly throughout. Inside the 200m improved onto heels and was obliged to be restrained and then had to check momentarily when NEW ARRIVAL shifted out. Jockey J. Hoopert  (NEW ARRIVAL) was severely reprimanded pursuant AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift ground at that point.
 
NONNO JOE – In the vicinity of the 700m became awkwardly placed on the heels of COODARDY and as a result was obliged the shift out. A pre-race veterinary examination revealed a scratch to the geldings near side flank. NONO JOE was passed fit to start..
 
Race 5: LADBROKE IT! QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap1200 metres
 
 
MISHANI MAVERICK – As jockey A. Butler was overweight, he was replaced by Jockey C. Spry. Subsequently, jockey A. Butler was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. Reared on jumping away.
 
NAZORIAN – Shifted out on jumping away.
 
AVERAGE JANE – Shifted in on jumping away. Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the left hind leg.
 
BRINGYATICKET – Raced wide throughout.
 
SPONTANEOUS CHOICE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
 
ANSWERING – Raced wide ride throughout.
 
TURN BIRD – Reared on jumping away.
 
THIS GIRL'S READY – Hampered on jumping away.
 
MISHANI PROMISE- Became fractious behind the barriers, reared over and dislodged its rider before galloping for a short distance before being captured. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. Began awkwardly. Trainer L. McCormack was advised that the gelding must now trial or jump out to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
 
Race 6: GLOBAL HIRE TOWNSVILLE AMATEUR CUP OPEN Handicap1609 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed 5 mins, owing to STRAHATTAN having to be resaddled behind the barriers.
 
SAVVY LEGEND – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as the gelding had raced recently. Passed fit to start.
 
THE DRILLER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as the gelding had raced recently. Passed fit to start. Shifted out on jumping away and then improved onto the heels of WISE DRAGON and then commenced to shift to the outside and raced in restricted room between PRINCE AKEEM and WISE DRAGON for a number of strides. Thereafter continued to be disappointed for clear running and as a result was unable to be fully tested to the line. A post-race veterinary examinations revealed no significant findings.
 
OLYMPIC KORCHNOI (BRZ) – Awkward to begin and as a result was slow into stride.
 
BRILLIANT MIND – Over raced during the early stages.
 
PLAY ME NOW (NZ) – Inside the 200m, shifted in under riding.
 
CIAO BICKY – Slow to begin. Shortly after the start was obliged to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of PRINCE AKEEM who shifted in. Over raced in the early stages of the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Inside the 200m was obliged to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of PLAY ME NOW and commenced to race ungenerously.  Jockey G McDonnell accidently dropped her whip at the 150 metres.
 
VENTURA OCEAN (IRE) – Over raced during the early stages.
 
PRINCE AKEEM – Shifted in shortly after the start. Inside the 200m was obliged to steady when CIAO BICKY laid in and away from the heels of PLAY ME NOW. Jockey L. Morrison the rider of PLAY ME NOW was reprimanded pursuant AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear,
 
 
Race 7: TRANSPORTABLE LIFESTYLES TOWNSVILLE AMATEUR SPRINT OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
BONES – Approaching the 600m Jockey L. Morrison secured the reins of the riderless horse in running. From inside the 200m, was hampered by the riderless horse and as a result was unable to fully test her mount to the line.
 
TARA JASMINE – In the vicinity of the 750m, was obliged to shift wider on the track to avoid the fallen horse.
 
BOLD TYPE – Over raced in the early stages of the event.
 
HELL OF A BOY – Approaching the 700m, clipped the heels of KNOCKNEE and dislodged its rider.
 
MISTER LARRABEE – Stood flat footed and lost ground.
 
KNOCKKNEE – In the vicinity of the 800m broke down and commenced to lose ground, resulting in HELL OF A BOY clipping heels approaching the 750m and dislodging Apprentice I. Teh. KNOCKNEE was found to have suffered a catastrophic injury to the near fore fetlock and was euthanised. Apprentice I. Teh was transported to the Townsville Hospital by QAS staff for further observation and was advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to resuming.  
 
Race 8: TOP SHELF TRAINING Class 3 Plate 1300 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed by one minute owing to LISTEN LISTEN being difficult to load.
 
ANTAGONISER – Raced without cover over the early stages.
 
AWE – Began awkwardly.
 
CROWNING MOMENT – Blundered shortly after the start.
 
FLUTTERING – Raced wide throughout.
 
FREDERICK THE DANE – Over raced during the early and middle stages of the event.
 
FUDGING – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
ANSELMO – Hampered at the start and shifted in to gain a position closer to the inside rail.
 
BELLS APPROACHING – Raced wide for the majority.
 
MISTA OMEGA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
LISTEN LISTEN – Difficult to load. Trainer A. Molino was advised that a warning had now been placed on the mare regarding its barrier manners.  
 
FERGYLISCIOUS – Slow to begin. Restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the inside rail.
