GENERAL
 
The track was upgraded to Good 4 at 1:00pm.
 
All riders competing today were subject to alcohol breath analysis after arriving on course, with all returning clear results.
 
Race 1: LADBROKES YARD COMMENTS OPEN HANDICAP         1200 M
 
BOLD TYPE – rider accidently dropped his near side rein passing the 200 metres which were regathered near the 100 metres. Rider reported that the gelding tended to lay out in the final straight.
 
HE'S XCEPTIONAL – began awkwardly then bumped: over-raced during early and middle stages.
 
FAMILY STAR – began awkwardly: over-raced through middle stages.
 
FOCUS – shifted out on jumping and bumped with HES EXCEPTIONAL.
 
LIGHTHORSE LAD – slow to begin.
 
Rider J Stanley (BOLD TYPE) was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount fully to the line when circumstances permit.
 
 
Race 2: MAGIC MILLIONS MARCH CATALOGUE OUT NOW QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP         1000 M
 
COSMIC ATOM – jumped out at the start.
 
DIAMOND CODE – laid out over the concluding stages.
 
OUR SECRET AFFAIR – bounded on jumping and was slow away:
 
WICKEDLY ELEGANT – began very awkwardly and shifted in bumping with COSMIC ATOM and lost ground, had a tendency to lay out in the final straight.
 
 
 
Race 3: MEMBERSHIPS ON SALE NOW MAIDEN HANDICAP         1000 M
 
NOVEMBER RHYTHM – began awkwardly: commenced to over-race in the early stages. Steadied off heels for a distance passing the 650 metres.
 
MORE THAN A HERO – rider reported that the colt had laid out throughout in first attempt racing right-handed.
 
EXTRA FREE – steadied off heels passing the 400 metres.
 
RIVALON – raced wide throughout.
 
SHE'S A MISSION – slow into stride.
 
RISING PROPHET – raced 3-wide with cover throughout.
 
HEAD BEE – raced 3-wide throughout.
 
Stewards inquired into NOVEMBER RHYTHM (F Edwards) being steadied passing the 850 metres when awkwardly near the heels of MORE THAN A HERO (J Stanley) which was improving forward to the lead. After questioning riders and reviewing vision of the incident, it was established that after being restrained to trail, NOVEMBER REIGN had commenced to over-race simultaneously as MORE THAN A HERO was moving forward and to the lead. Given all circumstances no further action was required.
 
 
Race 4: LADBROKES RACING CLUB BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1609 M
 
SOUTHERN SWING – gave ground latter stages - rider reported that the gelding felt indifferent in the hind quarters. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MEDAL (NZ) – raced wide rounding the first turn.
 
NEBARAZ – held up passing the 450 metres.
 
PLUCKERCARN – held up rounding the final turn and had to be taken out across heels near the 350 metres to obtain clear running.
 
 
Race 5: LADBROKES BET TICKER CLASS 3 PLATE         1200 M
 
ALTAR BOY – Had to be restrained passing the 600 metres when the tempo steadied and was then held up for a distance rounding the final turn.
 
ONCHAO – rider reported that his saddle slipped back near the 600 metres placing him at a disadvantage thereafter.
 
DIVINE WIT - Had to be restrained passing the 600 metres when the tempo steadied.
 
TIOGA PASS – raced wide rounding the first turn.
 
ELVIARE Had to be restrained passing the 600 metres when the tempo steadied.
 
MARANZANO Had to be restrained passing the 600 metres when the tempo steadied.
 
PRIVATE SECTOR – Began awkwardly: commenced to race ungenerously passing the 600 metres and was taken wider into clear racing room.
 
 
Race 6: LADBROKES BLACKBOOK BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP    1000 M
 
RUBICKS CHOICE – bumped at start: commenced to buck shortly after leaving the barriers for some distance and thereafter took no part in the event. Stood down two satisfactory trials.
 
DYSTOPIAN – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to run upon arrival at the barriers: briefly lost control of her whip near the 50 metres.
 
FREDDY BARBAROSSA – jumped and bumped with RISKED IT.
 
THE WALLET – began awkwardly: raced wide throughout.

ANOTHER DIMENSION – slow to begin: shifted in when struck whip the whip near the 200 metres and had to be straightened.
 
RISKED IT – buffeted shortly after the start:  commenced to hang in when in clear running near the 400 metres with the rider changing whip hands: bumped with THE WALLET passing the 150 metres.
 
MISS HELMUT – hung out and raced ungenerously near the 600 metres.
