Race 1:NORSTATE MARKETING QLD PTY LTD RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 HANDICAP 1609 M
 
EDIFICATION – Slow to begin.
 
ZOUHOPE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. Brushed near the 100 meters.
 
THE SHERPA – Slow into stride. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
VANCOUVER BAY – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MEDAL (NZ) – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
SIR MAXIMUS – Momentarily steadied near the 1300 meters when over racing.
 
DEVIL'S INN – Shifted out brushing ZOUHOPE near the 100 meters.
 
VALENKI – Jockey Lacey Morrison reported she had difficulty obtaining clear running on the final straight.
 
KING SAMUEL – On returning to scales jockey Ryan Wiggins reported the gelding felt awkward in its actions. A post-race veterinary examination found no significant abnormalities. Trainer Graham Hughes gave an undertaking that he would advise stewards should anything come to his attention in the coming days that may have had a bearing on its performance today.
 
 
Race 2: 5 STAR FITNESS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M
 
KUROMI SAMA – Delayed the start proving difficult to load. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners. Began awkwardly. Was momentarily held up for a clear running near the 250 meters. Jockey Jackson Murphy dropped his near side rein for a brief distance near the 200 meters.
 
FAIRYBOWER FLYER – Began awkwardly.
 
COACHMAN – Began awkwardly. Compounded over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which raced below market expectation, revealed no abnormalities.
 
POLLY HOFFA – Slow to begin.
 
OAKFIELD PANTHER – Raced wide for the majority. Improved onto heels near the 500 meters and shifted wider.
 
DYNA POWER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SHIHO – Commenced to lay in shortly after entering the final straight and could not be ridden to full advantage over the concluding stages. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the fillies’ racing manners.
 
 
Race 3: CITY LANE TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 M
 
MISS FARSTAR – Began awkwardly and hampered shortly after the start.
 
THE EIGHTH I AM – Over raced early. Shifted out rounding the home turn forcing MY LITTLE VIKING out which in turn shifted out forcing RUN FREDDIE RUN and bumping with TWENTY THREE WALL.
 
MY LITTLE VIKING - Raced wide for the majority. Forced wider rounding the home turn bumping with RUN FREDDIE RUN.
 
RUN FREDDIE RUN - Forced wider rounding the home turn bumping with TWENTY THREE WALL.
 
TWENTY THREE WALL - Raced wide for the majority. Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
HARDTOCRACK – Post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration on its off- hind leg consistent with being galloped on during the running.
 
MUMMIFICATION – Raced wide for the majority. Jockey Tyler Leslight advised Stewards on returning to scale that the horse felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BOGAN PRINCESS – Shifted in contacting the inside running rail on its own accord near the 250 meters.
 
I'M FAMOUS – Hampered near the 250 meters.
 
 
Race 4: EXPLORE PROPERTY MUNRO & CO LADIES BRACELET FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1300 M
 
DON'T TELL LEEANNE – Slow into stride.
 
LADY RAIN – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
WINNING SAGA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
OLD SCHOOL – Raced wide for the majority; Brushed near the 300 meters.
 
LADY DAMUS – Shifted out to obtain a clear run near the 300 meters brushing OLD SCHOOL. Held up rounding the home turn until near the 250 meters.
 
BRAVE MASO – Held up for a clear running rounding the home turn. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Rider Lacey Morrison reported, at the conclusion of the meeting, that after being dislodged from LADY RAIN following the finish of Race 4, that she was now experiencing some discomfort  in the thigh region. Ms Morrison undertook to update the Stewards with respect to the matter.  
 
 
Race 5: EXPLORE PROPERTY MUNRO & CO BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000 M
 
ZORAYDAH (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ZI WIN – Bounded in the air on jumping. Restrained off heels near the 700 meters.
 
YOU ARE KING - Raced wide for the majority.
 
WANNA TWEET – Raced wide for the majority.
 
NORTHERNONTAP - Raced wide for the majority; dictated wider on the home turn.
 
VIBURNUM – Shifted out to improve rounding the home turn dictating NORTHERNONTAP wider. Jockey Tyler Leslight momentarily dropped his off-side rein near the 200 meters. Jockey Tyler Leslight was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground out to improve.
 
YAMABUSHI – Reminded of his obligations when shifting out to improve.
 
 
Race 6: LADBROKES WINTER CUP OPEN HANDICAP         2000 M
 
The start of this race was delayed significantly when SAYL reared prior to the start being and contacted the front of its front barrier gate, forcing it open and in consequence, the gate of THIRD REALM, resulting in both horses travelling a short distance before being restrained.
 
THIRD REALM (GB) – barrier opened prematurely resulting in the gelding travelling a short distance before being restrained -  a veterinary examination at the barriers cleared THIRD REALM to start.
 
SAYL (GB) –Was declared a late scratching at 4.13pm after refusing to return to the barriers. All monies invested on SAYL were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 4.13pm. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.

FORTIFIED (NZ) – Reared on jumping.
 
OLYMPIC KORCHNOI (BRZ) – When questioned regard to its performance today rider Tyler Leslight reported the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
 
 
Race 7: HIGGINS GROUP QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1300 M
 
CRAICARO – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping heavily into YELLOWSTONE BETH. Stewards noted rider Pietro Romeo exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 meters (+2) Under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totally of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
FEEASHIN MOON - Slow to begin.
 
DATINKA – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages.
 
ROTH 'N' BUBBLE - Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1100 meters. Laid out approaching the 500 meters having to be restrained off heels.
 
YELLOWSTONE BETH – Bumped on jumping.
 
I EFF OH – Was inclined to lay out from the 600 meters.
 
RELIABLE WITNESS - Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages proving difficult to ride. Near the 150 meters shifted in and bumped into BEAU RAIN and had to be straighten.
 
 
Race 8: TOWNSVILLE CITY COUNCIL MAYOR'S SPRINT OPEN HANDICAP 1200 M
 
FOCUS – Slipped in the tie ups after arriving on course. Following a veterinary examination the gelding was declared a late scratching at 3.40pm by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer Mr Alby Malino was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness must be provided prior to its next race start or trial.  
 
HE'S XCEPTIONAL – Bounded in the air as the start and lost ground. Commenced to race fiercely soon after the start and had to be restrained off heels for some distance.
 
REBEL SALUTE - Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
SMART IMAGE – When questioned in regarding the run, jockey Ashley Butler stated that after beginning only fairly and getting back in the field, he was further disadvantaged when, after electing to move forward leaving the 400 meters was obliged to race wider on the track. Rider Butler further stated given all circumstances, including the weight carried, he was not disappointed with the gelding’s performance.
 
DEMON AWARD – Made contact with the barrier on jumping then made heavy contact with REBEL SALUTE.
 
CHILLI JAM – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Crowded when weakening passing the 200 meters. When questioned regarding the run of CHILLI JAM apprentice Isabella Teh reported that after being slow in the early stages the mare had travelled comfortable forward however when pressured round the final turn, had failed to respond and was disappointing. Ms Teh added that she was of the opinion that the mare may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
 
REGGIE'S BOY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
FULL RECOGNITION – Shifted in near the 350 meters crowding CHILLI JAM.
 
GO GETABOY – Laid out near the 200 meters crowding CHILLI JAM.
