RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT TWIN HILLS RACING CLUB – SATURDAY 28STSEPT, 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRTRAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T HudsonStewards – J AdamsClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – B Dennis/P BirdVeterinarian – Dr A.GuilfoyleSwab Official – C SpencerStarter – G Scharf General - All runners who competed at the Ewan and Twin Hills meeting on the 27th September were examined by the Veterinarian and passed fit to start. Race 1: CLONMELL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 800 metres RAPT IN RUMBA – Slow to begin DISTRICT – Following its win at Ewan on the 27th September, was penalised 1.5kg and carried 62.5kg in this race. Raced wide in the early stages. ABSOLUTE BONZA – Laid out throughout the event and near the vicinity of the 300m, became awkward on the heels of RAPT IN RUMBA and was obliged to steady. WE ALL LOVE LUCY – Slow to begin. Jockey H Phillips reported that the mare felt awkward in its action when placed under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.Trainer T Cook reported that it was now the stables intention to retire the mare. Race 2: BUNDABAROO/NOEL O’SULLIVAN MEMORIAL/JIM TURNER CUP – BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1100 metres ZUKAZ – Jumped awkwardly. OAKFIELD COSTA – Was a late scratching acting on veterinary advice at 1.25pm, when the gelding became cast in the raceday stalls. Trainer S Seymour was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next start. TYRANNIZE – Jockey R Oakford pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(2)(i) in that he used his whip on consecutive strides. Jockey R Oakford was issued a reprimand. STARANTE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced in restricted room near the 800m to the inside of TYRANNIZE and as a result became awkward in its action for a number of strides. COMBATTANT DE RUE – Jockey H Phillips reported the gelding, which tailed off in the event, didn’t handle the quick backup, resented the kickback, firm surface and in her opinion, is better suited over a longer distance. OTTO’S BROTHER – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. Race 3: CLERMONT CONCRETE/ CLERMONT QUARIES QTIS MDN PLATE – 1200 metres MILITARY PRINCE – Slow to begin. CAMBOOMYA – Raced wide and was inclined to lay in in the early stages. Jockey M Barnham reported that the mare which was having its first start on the dirt, failed to handle the firm surface and was disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. LUCKY BEE – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. JILTED GIRL – Slow to begin and overraced in the early and middle stages. BUSH BEAT ROCKET – As no other rider was available, R Oakford was permitted to ride the filly 1.5kg over its allotted weight. Race 4: EPPING FOREST/ BENTLEYS TWIN HILLS CUP – OPEN HANDICAP – 1300 metres CALYPSO BAY – Slowly away and hampered shortly after jumping. Jockey R Oakford reported that after being hampered, he was forced to race behind runners in the dust and as the horse was carrying 65kg, he wasn’t able to make any significant ground on the runners throughout the event. SENSATION ALLY – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in onto TADWEEN. TADWEEN - As no other rider was available, M Barnham was permitted to ride the gelding 2.5kg over its allotted weight. Hampered on jumping when SENSATION ALLY shifted in. ARCHIE’S SON – Trainer J Manzlemann was fined the sum of $100 under AR106 (1), for presenting the gelding without a tongue tie which is part of its approved gear. ISLAND BAR – Slow to begin. Race 5: ADANI MINING / C GUILFOYLE & ASSOC / CLERMONT VET SURGERY – BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1300 metres DEL DIAVOLO – Trainer T Cook reported on returning to the stables, the gelding was found to be lame in the offside fore leg. Trainer T Cook further stated the mare would now be retired. He was then advised that if the mare was to ever resume a racing career, a veterinary certificate would be required. ISIS JECTALE – Following its win at Twin Hills on the 27th September, was penalised 1.5kg and carried 60.5kg in this race. Trainer K Miller reported that the mare didn’t handle the back up from its run on the 27th September and would now be spelled.
