QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT TWIN HILLS RACE CLUB INC22nd September 2023 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D MacklynStewards – G MeekClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – G. CampbellVeterinarian – Dr M. ChinchillaStarter – G. Scharf Race 1: BURNETT CARRYING Maiden Plate (800M) MANHATTAN FIRE – was squeezed at the start between LOST ‘N’ FOUND which jumped in and TAKING STEPS which jumped out. Raced wide throughout. SHESABOMB – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination 1.05pm and was cleared to start. Approaching the 500 metres had to check and shift out wider on the track to avoid the heels of STAR DAZZLER which shifted in when insufficiently clear. TAKING STEPS – Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer Terry Kenny for the late declaration of apprentice jockey Gemma Hogg as the rider. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at 12:25pm and was cleared to start. Jumped out at the start and bumped MANHATTAN FIRE. GROVERS PREDICTION – began awkwardly. LOST ‘N’ FOUND – jumped in at the start and bumped MANHATTAN FIRE and raced wide in the early stages before going to the fence at the 600 metres. STAR DAZZLER – Trainer Darryl Johnston presented STAR DAZZLER to the enclosure with the incorrect gear. Trainer Johnston pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms AR106 and was fined the sum of $200.00. Approaching the 500 metres shifted into the running rail resulting in SHESABOMB having to check and shift out wider to avoid heels. Jockey Damien Boutet pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR131(a) for careless riding for shifting ground when not clear to do so. Stewards determined the matter to be a minor incident and suspended jockey Boutet’s license to ride in races for a period of 8 days to commence at midnight 30th September 2023 up to midnight 8th October 2023. Race 2: ROBERT O’SULLIVAN FAMILY BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (800m) SPLASHER – Stable representative Lachie Manzelmann presented SCARLET DESIRE to race instead of SPLASHER. Stewards acting under the terms of AR99(1) issued a charge for the presenting the incorrect horse, stable representative L Manzelmann pleaded guilty and was fined the sum of $500.00 TORQUE SENSATION – cross over nose band had to refitted in the barriers and raced wide throughout. LILLY ALLEZ – began awkwardly as a result was slow into stride. UNCLE FRANK – raced wide throughout. Race 3: BULLIWALAH Class B Handicap (1100m) LENNY ROCKET – near the 1000 metres ducked out and bumped DAWN REBEL then over raced for some distance and raced wide around the home turn. DAWN REBEL – fractious prior to the start, began awkwardly and near the 1000 metres was bumped by LENNY ROCKET. MISS CONFIDANTE – raced wide throughout. Race 4: MT DOUGLAS LADIES BRACELET Open Handicap (1100m) VAINSTREAM – began awkwardly. FANAAR – fractious prior to the start, began awkwardly as a result was slow into stride and raced wide throughout. Race 5: DISNEY QTIS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1300m) CAPITOL GIRL – after having raced at Mackay on Tuesday 20th September underwent a pre- race veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. KINGMATE – began awkwardly as a result was slow into stride and failed to show any speed throughout. Stable representative L Manzelmann was advised a warning was placed on KINGMATE for being uncompetitive.
