A number of trainers had difficulties obtaining riders due to the number of meetings in the area.
RACE 1: TOOWOOMBA CUP CORPORATE MARQUEES CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1006M.
SINISIN was withdrawn by stewards on veterinary advice at 3.57 pm. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 16 cents in the $1 win and 14 cents in the $1 place.
SURPRISED jumped in making heavy contact with FLYING MAIZCAY.
CHILLA NOVA jumped in making contact with the gate.
Approaching the 800m. PEEPING THOMAS was steadied when crowded for room by FLYING MAIZCAY.
ENGLISH TYCOON raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Leaving the 800m. GRAND CHEVAL was eased when tightened for room by FLYING MAIZCAY (B Appo), which shifted in. B Appo was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.
Time off 3.59 pm.
RACE 2: WEETWOOD CORPORATE MARQUEES MAIDEN H'CAP – 1610M.
The track was upgraded from slow to dead at 4.05 pm.
REGAL GLARE, which was slowly away, hung out throughout. Trainer R Rivett was advised that REGAL GLARE was required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.
EGYPTIAN SEAS was slowly away.
WAITAWHERO GOLD jumped in making heavy contact with SPEEDITO.
Leaving the 400m. ZACOBBA was held up for clear running for a short distance.
Time off 4.40 pm.
RACE 3: 2 WEEKS TO WEETWOOD CLASS 2 H'CAP - 1307M.
MISTER SQUEALER, which hit the parade gate whilst being led onto track, dislodging the rider, was withdrawn by stewards at 5.15 pm. after completing a circuit of the track. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 7 cents in the $1 win and less 8 cents in the $1 place.
ST. VIDGEON jumped in making contact with AMPHORIA.
OVERSLADE LANE jumped awkwardly.
GREAT EXPECTATIONS and LOCHDHU were slowly away.
Near the 1000m. GREAT EXPECTATIONS got its head up whilst being steadied from the heels of MRS. COSGROVE, which shifted out marginally.
At the home straight entrance FOR A LARK was buffeted between DANCING SOUND, which shifted out and NOBLE MOSES.
Time off 5.19 pm.
RACE 4: CLIFFORD PARK TWILIGHT RACING CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1207M.
HOO HA and MALLEE FIRE made contact on jumping.
MALLEE FIRE then shifted in making contact with PATRICIA CATHERINE.
Time off 5.55 pm.
RACE 5: WEETWOOD PRELUDE OPEN H'CAP – 1207M.
ROCKET BALL and ANCIENT PRINCE made contact on jumping.
Approaching the 800m. ROCKET BALL was momentarily crowded for room by CEFFYL.
Approaching the 550m. GET GOING got its head up whilst being eased from the heels ROCKET BALL.
Near 550m. TRISTRAM’S SHOW made contact with the running rail when tightened for room by DOUBLE KINGDOM (N Evans), which was lying in.
Time off 6.37 pm.
RACE 6: SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES 2-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1207M.
MUSTANG MAGIC jumped in making contact with SEEK THE BEST.
KISS AN ANGEL was slowly away.
Shortly after the start BECKWORTH, MIGHTY PHUN and CAWDOR SUNSET were hampered by COVET THE CROWN, which travelled out for some distance.
Near the 1100m. GREY TRIST (A Morrison) bucked dislodging the rider. Trainer L Ross was advised that GREY TRIST was required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.
KISS AN ANGEL was eased in the incident.
On the point of the home turn MUSTANG MAGIC, which was disappointed for a run, was eased from the heels of POSH TOSH.
Near the 100m. CAWDOR SUNSET shifted out across the running rail of SAAMI KNIGHT, which then ducked in sharply.
Time 7.12 pm.
RACE 7: WEETWOOD FASHIONS ON THE FIELD MAIDEN H'CAP – 1207M.
VIA CHARIOT and TRANSPORT PRINCE was slowly away.
Shortly after TRANSPORT PRINCE hung out and onto the heels of ADAM’S CURSE.
PENTHOUSE VIEW jumped out making heavy contact with MAYNE EDGE.
BOONAMIN jumped out as the gates opened.
Leaving the 400m. BOONAMIN was steadied from the heels of BLAZING PRINCE, which shifted in.
RAPADAMA hung in over the concluding stages.
Time off 7.50 pm.
