RACE 1: ALQUIP / DAVE CARY MEMORIAL MAIDEN H'CAP – 1303M.

At the start NOR NOVA jumped out making contact with BECKWORTH.

WIRRADILLA and JAMMARGEO were slowly away.

Leaving the 950m IGRESSE was eased from the heels of CATCH A CLASSIC.

Approaching the 850m NOR NOVA was crowded for room by BECKWORTH, which shifted in.

Near the 800m NOR NOVA, which was racing keenly, was eased from the heels of BECKWORTH.

Leaving the 800m IVRESSE got its head up and shifted out.

BECKWORTH shifted out leaving the 200m.

Approaching the finish CATCH A CLASSIC was eased from the heels of BECKWORTH, which shifted in.

PALESTINE SUN raced wide throughout.

BECKWORTH returned to scale with a cut to the near hind leg.

Apprentice C Spry (CRASH LIGHTNING) reported that his mount felt sore over the concluding stages. A subsequent veterinary examination of CRASH LIGHTNING failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 3.51 pm.

RACE 2: LEN PATTI MOTORS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1303M.

At the start TONTEN jumped out making contact with HEALER.

At the start FLUENT ROAD jumped in making contact with FIERY ASPECT.

Leaving the 1100m ENGLISH TYCOON (B Appo) shifted in making heavy contact with ALCO MICK causing that horse to be taken in tightening the running of FIERY ASPECT, HOW NEAT and FLASHING JACK, resulting in FIERY ASPECT being checked. B Appo was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground. Stewards took into account that when ENGLISH TYCOON made contact with ALCO MICK it then appeared to lie on that horse for some distance.

Leaving the 500m CAWDOR SUNSET was forced wider on the track by FLASHING JACK.

Approaching the 250m TRINEWAL was eased when HEALER (J Sharp) shifted out to obtain clear running. J Sharp was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear to do so.

Leaving the 100m FLUENT ROAD was inclined to lie in under pressure.

ELEGANT CHOICE, which returned to scale with blood in both nostrils was stood down from racing for a period of 3 months.

Time off 4.30 pm.

RACE 3: ALQUIP / BILL BAMBERRY MEMORIAL CLASS 5 H'CAP - 2056M.

MR FIORELLI, which refused to go to the start was withdrawn at 5.04 pm. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 33 cents in the $1 win and 29 cents in the $1 place. Trainer L Hatch was advised that MR FIORELLI is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

MIDNIGHT MOON and TOP PLUME were slowly away.

Leaving the 550m MIDNIGHT MOON made contact with the running rail on a number of occasions.

Leaving the 500m MIDNIGHT MOON, which was held up for clear running, attempted to shift out, making contact with WAITAWHERO GOLD on a number of occasions.

Leaving the 400m TOP PLUME was held up for clear running.

G Lynch (WAITAWHERO GOLD) dropped his whip near the 50m.

Time off 5.05 pm.

RACE 4: AUGUST MOON CHINESE TAKE – AWAY CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1203M.

Shortly after the start MISTER SQUEALER and TANZARA were hampered between MY VANITY FAIR, which had jumped with its head in the air and CHRISTMAS HANDOUT, which shifted out.

Approaching the 800m TANZARA was steadied from the heels of CHRISTMS HANDOUT.

Leaving the 400m BAT AN EYE was held up for clear running.

A veterinary examination of KIDBURG, which weakened badly, revealed that there is some concern over his heart function. Trainer G Banks was advised that an ECG and a veterinary clearance are required for KIDBURG prior to his next start.

Time off 5.40 pm.

RACE 5: COCA – COLA H'CAP – 1103M.

BOOM SOUND jumped in the air as the gates opened.

SCORSESE and BISHOP BILL made contact on jumping.

Near the 850m NO INTENTION was steadied when crowded for room by AVON JEWEL, which was taken in by SONIC SWITCH, which shifted in whilst lying in.

Time off 6.15 pm.

RACE 6: CALEDONIAN PIPE BAND CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1103M.

On returning to scale Jockey G Geran (AFRICAN QUEEN) made application to stewards to have his mount declared a non - runner as he believed it was denied a fair start. After viewing the head on film, stewards declared AFRICAN QUEEN a non - runner as the film confirmed that the filly was denied a fair start. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 31 cents in the $1 win and less 21 cents in the $1 place.

SPUD jumped awkwardly.

DEVIL’S CLAW was slowly away.

At the start ARBEE was hampered between DO AS I SAY, which jumped out and BEAU TANGO, which jumped in.

DO AS I SAY shifted out over the concluding stages.

Time off 6.56 pm.

RACE 7: TMBA PRIVATE HOSPITALS PHARMACY MAIDEN H'CAP – 1003M.

PICCOLO PLAYER jumped in making heavy contact with AKTHAR.

MAIDEN BREEZE and SHYON were slowly away.

Shortly after the start LUNK was eased when crowded for room by GEORGE THOMAS, which was taken in by CHINA GREY.

Time off 7.38 pm.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
