RACE 1: ROYAL HOTEL / IRISH CLUB HOTEL MAIDEN H'CAP - 900M.

RUBY IN THE WOODS and HE'S A BROTHER were severely hampered between MISS CHIPS, which jumped out and BLAZING SHARI, which jumped in.

Shortly after the start ESCUDE laid on FOURAK LAD for a short distance.

N. Evans (TIZ) was found guilty of a careless riding charge in that near the 600m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of FLUTE FAIRY resulting in the latter being taken in making contact with MISS CHIPS which became unbalanced, shifting out causing FLUTE FAIRY to be checked. N Evans was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 meetings to take affect as of mid - night 30-03-03 and to expire at mid - night 13-04-03.

Leaving the 500m FLUTE FAIRY raced in restricted room between MISS CHIPS and ESCUDE.

ESCUDE laid in under pressure in the home straight straight.

Approaching the finish IN THE SUMMERTIME was steadied from the heels of BLAZING SHARI.

Time off: 4.02 pm.

RACE 2: GOWRIE ROAD HOTEL CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1100M.

SWEET LILY blundered on jumping.

PATHFINDER jumped awkwardly.

Leaving the 800m SWWT LILY was momentarily crowded for room by COUR DE LION, from that stage SWEET LILY continued to lose ground. Jockey G. Geran stated that SWEET LILY failed to handle the soft track.

Leaving the 600m SEGURA shifted out making contact with MISS DE LAGO. SEGURA then shifted back in momentarily crowding the running of SWEET LILY.

PATHFINDER and CITY ROSE forced to race wide on the home turn when KISS ME ALL OVER hung out.

SWEET LILY returned to scale minus the near-fore plate.

Time off: 4.40 pm.

RACE 3: SOUTHERN HOTEL - MOTEL CLASS 2 H'CAP - 1200M.

SPEEDITO, which reared up and struck it's head in the tie up stalls prior to the race, was withdrawn on Veterinary advice at 5.01 p.m. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 10c in the $1 win, less 10c in the $1 place.

ROYAL CONSPIRACY, CALM ACTION and TUCKERMAN were all slowly away.

STELLAR SPECTRA jumped in coming into contact with WICKED WOMAN.

Time off: 5.20 pm.

RACE 4: PLAINLANDS HOTEL / WITHCOTT HOTEL CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1600M.

BALLY BUCKSHOT pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

CAWDOR WARRIOR raced keenly approaching the 1300m.

Time off: 5.55 pm.

RACE 5: THE CHRONICLE CUP CLASS 6 H'CAP - 1300M.

DAI RAN was slowly away.

Leaving the 1000m, BENO was steadied when momentarily crowded for room by JUST GUS, which was inclined to lie in. JUST GUS continued to lie in for some distance.

TRULY BRAVE hung in over the concluding stages.

Time off: 6.37 pm.

RACE 6: CARLTON DRAUGHT TOOWOOMBA CUP H'CAP - 2050M.

Following the deterioration of the track, connections of CITY MISSION were granted permission to withdraw the gelding at 5.09 p.m. Deductions above the line were paid less 3c in the $1 win, less 4c in the $1 place. The representative for trainer R Macrae was advised that a slow to heavy track bar would now be imposed on CITY MISSION.

At the start STRANGE CONFLICT was crowded for room by DEERHILL, which was taken out by AULD HAT, which jumped out.

FORGING'S LAD and AWESOME WEATHER made contact on jumping.

TOP PLUME, which raced fiercely leaving the 1400m, was eased from the heels of BRIGHTER SCENE.

Leaving the 500m BRIGHTER SCENE, which was hanging in, made contact with DISTRACTION. BRIGHEST SCENE continued to hang in for the remainder of the race.

Time off: 7.12 pm.

RACE 7: SHAMROCK HOTEL QTIS 2-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP - 1300M.

LEICA WINNER was slowly away.

JAR JAR DANE and RAJA PRINCE made heavy contact on jumping.

RAJA PRINCE then shifted out taking JAR JAR DANE out, which resulted in DAWN SNOW being tightened onto the heels of INDARAMA.

Approaching the 800m, MITERAND, which was racing greenly in the early stages, shifted in and crowded the running of INDARAMA.

Leaving the 900, RAJA PRINCE was inclined to shift about whilst racing keenly.

Leaving the 800m, INDARAMA shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of MITTERAND.

Leaving the 500m, RAJA PRINCE shifted out making contact with ATHOL.

Time off 7.50 pm.

RACE 8:HIGHFIELDS TAVERN QTIS 3-Y-0 MAIDEN H’CAP - 1300M.

CROWN SILVER attempted to buck shortly after the start. Trainer R. Maund advised CROWN SILVER is to undergo a barrier jump-out to the satisfaction of stewards prior to next racing.

FLYING FORTUNE was slowly away.

REGAL CORINTO raced keenly along the back section of the track.

Leaving the 500m CROWN SILVER was eased when crowded for room between MICAN and PRINCE FLAMENCO, which shifted out.

MR CHIPS shifted out over the concluding stages.

Time off 8.27 pm.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
