SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

28-03-06: Stewards inquired into the reason Bryce Dieckmann rode in the barrier trials at Clifford Park, Toowoomba on 21-03-06 whilst not the holder of a current appropriate licence. After taking evidence from B Dieckmann stewards charged B Dieckmann with a breach of LR85 in that on the 21-03-06 he rode 3 horses in the Toowoomba barrier trials, LEGAL EDITION (heat 1), BACI (heat 5) and LAMBADA LASS (heat 6) whilst not the holder of a current appropriate licence. B Dieckmann was found guilty of the charge and was fined the sum of $500. B Dieckmann was given 3 months to pay.

The track was upgraded from slow to dead at 3.00 pm.

RACE 1: PACIFIC SEEDS MR BUSTER 2-Y-O MAIDEN H’CAP – 900M.

BIONIC BLAZE and STRONG CAPER were slow to begin.

Shortly after the start PREY FOR PEACE was steadied when tightened for room between GALLANT PILOT and ZDARSKY, which shifted.

A warning was placed on ZDARSKY, which attempted to buck in the early stages.

Near the 700m PREY FOR PEACE was steadied when crowded for room by ZDARSKY, which was taken in by REINCARNATION (C Bumstead). C Bumstead was reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.

Apprentice C. Bumstead (REINCARNATION) was found guilty of a careless riding charge, the careless riding being that near the 600m she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of ZDARSKY (K Banks) resulting in that horse being tightened onto the running rail and making heavy contact with the rail. C Bumstead was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 meetings as of midnight 1-04-06 and to expire at midnight 16-04-06

A veterinary examination of STRONG CAPER and BRACADALE, which finished at the rear of the field failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 3.47 PM.

RACE 2: RAY WHITE RURAL 3-Y-0 MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M.

J. McKinnon (ETERNAL FORTUNE) replaced P. Wolfgram who failed to arrive on course by the required time. P Wolfgram will be interviewed at a later date.

GO’OH. which became fractious in the barriers was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

At the start OUR MACADANEA was tightened for room between JUST LARRY, which jumped out and HOFBRAU, which jumped in.

Shortly after the start SCATTER DELIGHT shifted in coming into heavy contact with DIRECTOR’S CHOICE.

HOFBRAU shifted in coming out of the chute taking JUST LARRY and GO’OH in.

Near the 700m LEGAL MISS (S Drake) shifted in and bumped DIRECTOR’S CHOICE onto the heels of EAR’S ROCKING, which shifted out marginally. S Drake was advised to exercise more care when her mount is shifting ground. Shortly after WIDE BAY was forced wider on the track by DIRECTOR’S CHOICE, which hung out across the heels of LEGAL MISS.

Near the 250m IN AWHIRL was steadied when crowded for room between HOFBRAU, which shifted out and ETERNAL FLAME, which shifted in.

ETERNAL FORTUNE raced wide throughout.

WIDE BAY raced very wide throughout.

Time off 4.31 PM.

RACE 3: SUNSTATE AG CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1100M.

Apprentice S. Nakamura (EMPEROR’S HOPE) replaced apprentice C. Gilby who was unable to claim his full allowance. C Gilby was fined the sum of $100.

On returning to scale jockey R Goltz (JEROME’S STAR) asked the stewards if the film of the start could be viewed to determine if his mount was denied a fair start. After viewing the film stewards and R Goltz were satisfied JEROME’S STAR was not denied a fair start.

JEROME’S STAR, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start MILLIMAC and STAT were crowded for room between FRISCO’S ROSE and SWEEP TO VICTORY, which shifted in.

Near the 400m EMPEROR’S HOPE was eased from the heels of the tiring SWEEP TO VICTORY.

MISS HOEY MOEY and VITRUVIUS raced wide throughout.

A veterinary examination of SWEEP TO VICTORY, which weakened from the 500m revealed the gelding to have a heart rate considered faster than normal. Dr McAuliffe recommended to trainer P Richardson to have the gelding examined by his stable veterinary surgeon. Trainer P Richardson was advised a veterinary clearance is required for SWEEP TO VICTORY prior to its next start.

Time off 5.05 PM.

RACE 4: SOUTH EAST ENGINEERING SERVICE FILLIES & MARES CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1200M.

A veterinary examination of MISS STRONGHOLD, which was kicked whilst parading behind the barriers, passed the mare to start.

A warning was placed on ROMANOVA, which was slow to begin.

At the start HALIBUT was tightened for room between DAPPLE EXPRESS and MISS STRONGHOLD, which jumped out.

Near the 250m CANDY APPLE ROSE, which shifted in was steadied from the heels of HALIBUT, which shifted out to obtain clear running.

ROMANOVA raced wide from the 700m.

PREMEDIATE raced wide from the 600m.

Stewards inquired into the reason MISS STRONGHOLD (S Apthorpe) lost ground near the 1000m. After taking evidence from S Apthorpe, K Banks (LIPINSKI), C Bumstead (HALIBUT), S Nakamura (PREMEDIATE), J Warrington (CANDY APPLE ROSE) and A Parramore (ROCK THE CLOCK), it was established initially MISS STRONGHOLD and HALIBUT, which was lying in and away from PREMEDIATE were placed in restricted room between LIPINSKI and PREMEDIATE (S Nakamura), which shifted in. When attempting to relieve the pressure S Nakamura was unable to do so as his mount started to hang in. Shortly after ROCK THE CLOCK (A Parramore) shifted in taking CANDY APPLE ROSE in, which tightened the running of PREMEDIATE causing further tightening to HALIBUT and MISS STRONGHOLD, resulting in MISS STRONGHOLD losing ground and CANDY APPLE ROSE being restrained from the heels of ROCK THE CLOCK. Stewards advised S Nakamura he must straighten his mount prior to placing riders to his inside in restricted room. Stewards reprimanded A Parramore for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear. Stewards advised A Parramore if they had not taken into account PREMEDIATE had HALIBUT and MISS STRONGHOLD in restricted room prior to his mount having any input into the incident, he may have had a more serious penalty imposed.

Time off 5.43 PM.
RACE 5: SUNCORP AGRIBUSINESS CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1300M.

APACHE WHITE SOCKS was withdrawn on veterinary advice at 8.20 am.

Trainer D Gollan was fined the sum of $100 for failing to declare the rider for DARBY ROSER by the required time.

A warning was placed on PEARL OF PICCOLO, which was slow to begin.

At the 700m GOLD IN MIND was forced wider on the track by PEARL OF PICCOLO, which shifted out. Both horses then raced wide for the remainder of the race.

On the home turn TORDACITY was tightened for room between PEARL OF PICCOLO (P Randall), which shifted in and STAR OF ALASKA (J McKinnon), which shifted out. P Randall and J McKinnon were advised to exercise more care when their mounts are shifting ground.

A veterinary examination of TORDACITY, which finished at the rear of the field failed to reveal any apparent abnormality apart from coughing 2 or 3 times.

When questioned why he elected to come off the fence from behind DARBY ROSER near the 700m to go wide and forward, apprentice P Randall (STAR OF PICCOLO) stated he has won two races and finished a close second on the mare in the country by going forward from the 700m. Stewards advised P Randall, they accept he has been successful on the mare in the country by riding her in that manner, but by going forward from the 700m and wide in Toowoomba is setting the mare an enormous task. Stewards further advised P Randall that they are aware he has had limited experience riding in Toowoomba but in the future they expect to see him ride with much more judgement.

Time off 6.20 PM.
