BrennanStewards Secretary – P. Carey RACE 1: HANNAS RATINGS BAND 0-62 H'CAP – 1625M MADAM AUBERGE – As apprentice S. Lacy was riding at another venue, jockey K. Yoshida was substituted as the rider of the horse when no other apprentice was available. Began awkwardly. SHE’S A KICKER – Began awkwardly and then further hampered at the start when bumped by another runner. BO ROSSA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. RACE 2: K & R PLUMBING SUPPLIES CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M TWO UP TILLEY – As N. Evans was riding at another venue, N. Nishio was substituted as the rider of the horse. THIN DISGUISE – Became fractious in the gates and was slow to begin. Had to be checked near the 800m to avoid the heels of RALPH THE DRAGON, which shifted in when not completely clear. S. Drake, rider of RALPH THE DRAGON, was reprimanded. Obliged to steady from heels near the 500m. RALPH THE DRAGON - Near the 500m, whilst racing keenly, had to be checked away from the heels of another runner. SURF SKI – Raced wide for the majority of the race. RED WARNING – Raced wide for the majority of the race. RACE 3: COCA COLA AMATIL CLASS 3 PLATE – 1050M BAY RUST – Began awkwardly. GOT NEWS FOR YOU – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. INTERLUDE – Tightened for room at the start. JETTY BETTY - Placed in restricted room near the 900m when racing to the inside of MINIVER, which was taken in by INVITTO, which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey Beau Appo, rider of INVITTO, was reprimanded as a result of this incident. CELESTIAL DRAGON – On return to scale, apprentice S. Lacy reported that her mount dropped the bit at the 700m and from that point never travelled comfortably for the remainder of the event. Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination of the horse revealed cardiac arrhythmia. Connections will be advised that an ECG must be performed on the gelding and that it also must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. RACE 4: SEDL AGENCIES CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200M ORCHARD – When racing keenly passing the 900m raced ungenerously with its head in the air whilst being restrained. SUITE MOVER – Momentarily held up approaching the 300m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. GUMDALE BOY – Raced 3 wide without cover. Jockey S. Alam was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. RACE 5: TOOWOOMBA PLASTICS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M SHADES OF SERENA – As R. Plumb was indisposed, S. Drake was substituted as the rider of the horse. Raced in restricted room near the 500m for a short distance when the tiring BLACK KULWADEE, which shifted out. BLACK KULWADEE – As apprentice J. Hodge was unable to claim down to his riding weight, apprentice A. Spinks was substituted as the rider of the horse. Stewards accepted the explanation from apprentice J. Hodge in relation to his failure to claim down to his riding weight. Placed in restricted room approaching the 800m. Bumped by another runner and forced wider near the 700m. WILMA – At the 800m was steadied to avoid the heels of another runner, which shifted in whilst hanging in despite the efforts of its rider. TEMUJIN’S RULE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. STELLAR KNIGHT – Jockey Beau Appo advised following the event that he intended to ride the gelding in a midfield position tonight, however after being caught wide in the early stages he allowed his mount to stride forward and obtained the leading position near the 700m. RACE 6: GC EVENT HIRE QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1625 VENETIAN BEAUTY – Declared a late scratching at 4.50 pm after sustaining an injury when being transported to the track. CAPTAINS WAY – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. ILLUSTRIOUS DEAL – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early and middle stages.
