Race 1: NUTURF CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1300M
 
AROUND THE WORLD – Bumped with another runner at the start. Steadied to avoid the heels of another runner near the 900m.
 
STORMY GREY – Bumped with another runner at the start.
 
MOUNT PERRY – Raced wide throughout.
 
DINA’S DRAGON – Apprentice R. Williams was reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to GOOD 3 retrospective.
 
Race 2: FURNEYS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000M
 
ROGER THAT – Slow to muster early speed.
 
TRUE PASSION – Trainer M. Nolan was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse’s identity papers. At the request of Mr Nolan’s stable representative the horse was examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to be tying up.
 
INTERLUDE – Steadied to avoid the heels of another runner near the 500m.
 
MISS SUGAR PUSS – Began awkwardly. On return to scale apprentice E. Ljung reported that her mount weakened badly in the home straight and did not feel comfortable in its action on returning to scale. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg. Trainer D. Baker was advised that the mare will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
COSTA LOTSA – Steadied to avoid heels near the 500m.
 
Race 3: MITTYS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
REDSERA – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Again held up for clear running over the concluding stages of the event.
 
SOPHIE’S DESTINY – Tightened on jumping.
 
LONTANA – Trainer P. Sexton was fined $100 for the late declaration of E. Ljung as rider. Dipped on jumping. Raced wide throughout without cover. Laid out during the middle stages.
 
JUST LIKE ERROL – Raced wide throughout.
 
SAVAGE HOOD – Raced wide without cover. On returning to scale apprentice T. Brooker reported that her mount wanted to lay in in the home straight.
 
IT’S NOT CRYSTAL – Momentarily steadied to avoid heels near the 100m.
 
SEQUASI – Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 150m.
 
DESTINY’S DESIRE – As P. Romeo was to be overweight, B. Newport was substituted as rider. Stewards accepted P. Romeo’s explanation for being unable to fulfil the engagement. Began awkwardly.
 
Race 4: SHANNON SIGN COMPANY QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M
 
GOLDEN DEPART – Forced to steady momentarily leaving the 500m to avoid the heels of HOT TALK, which shifted in when not completely clear. Beau Appo, the rider of HOT TALK, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care.
 
THUMBS UP – Jumped in at the start and bumped another runner. On return to scale apprentice E. Ljung reported that her mound did not travel comfortably in the prevailing track conditions.
 
RED BEACH – Bumped at the start. Steadied from heels at the 900m. Raced greenly during the middle stages.
 
ROTINDY – Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 200m was steadied from the heels of REAL MYSTIQUE, which shifted in when not completely clear. Apprentice J. Oliver, the rider of REAL MYSTIQUE, was advised to exercise more care.
 
REAL MYSTIQUE – Began awkwardly.
 
CENTENARIO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
Following the running of this race and after rain had fallen, the track was downgraded to SOFT 5.
 
Race 5: GRAND CENTRAL MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
 
THE SPIRIT OF JAZZ, which dislodged rider E. Ljung during the preliminary, was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 7:28 pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on THE SPIRIT OF JAZZ be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
            0 cents in the dollar for the win #2
            6 cents in the dollar for place of winner #2
            7 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #3
            1 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #7
 
CHEVYS DESIRE – Raced wide throughout.
 
LITTLE DUTCHY – Raced wide throughout.
 
CLANG’S ROSE – Began awkwardly.
 
MERINDONNA – As apprentice L. Tilley was unable to claim down to his riding weight, apprentice A. Spinks was substituted as rider. Stewards accepted apprentice Tilley’s explanation. Began awkwardly and was then tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
PRINCESS SIDEREUS – Tightened for room and had to be checked passing the 800m when tightened for room by HOT TALK, which was tightened for room when LIBERTY JANE was taken in by LITTLE DUTCHY. Apprentice B. Panya, the rider of LITTLE DUTCHY, was charged with careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that approaching and passing the 800m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of those runners. After hearing submissions from apprentice Panya’s master, trainer Mr P. Duff, Stewards advised apprentice Panya that they would not proceed with the charge.
 
Race 6: AUDI CENTRE TOOWOOMBA CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1625M
 
DAKOTA ROCKS – Steadied and brushed the running rail near the 1000m when SHOW COMMAND shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice B. Panya, the rider of SHOW COMMAND, was advised to exercise more care.
 
MADAM SHAZAM – Near the 1400m raced in restricted room to the inside of SAID WRITTEN, which shifted in. Apprentice J. Oliver, the rider of SAID WRITTEN, was advised to exercise more care. Steadied from heels near the 1100m.
 
Race 7: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE MAIDEN PLATE – 1850M
 
BENICSTRESS – Checked rounding the turn out of the home straight on the first occasion after making the turn awkwardly.
 
RED GLAZE – Laid out rounding the turn out of the straight on the first occasion.
 
FETHARD – As apprentice E. Ljung sustained an injury after being dislodged prior to Race 5, T. Brooker was substituted as rider. Took charge of the rider in the early stages and established a considerable lead before weakening over the concluding stages.
