Race 1: COCA COLA AMATIL QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1050M
 
SIDTHEKID – Had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 400M.
 
THE GROOM – Jockey Brad Appo was reprimanded for using the whip 8 times prior to the 100m.  Stewards took into account jockey Appo’s previous good record in relation to this rule.  Slightly inconvenienced approaching the 400M when placed in restricted room between runners.
 
TRUST IN CASH – Bumped on jumping away.
 
LONGING FOR – Began awkwardly and shifted in.  Shifted wider by another runner at the 500M and raced wide for the remainder.
 
MILLY MUNCHER – Hampered on jumping away.  Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.  Raced greenly over the final 100M, and shifted in over the concluding stages of the event.
 
NAUGHTY BUT NICE – Forced to shift wider at the 550M to avoid the heels of another runner.
 
SHEMAGICSMY WORLD – Bumped on jumping away.
 
SURE DEAL – Hampered on jumping away.  Overraced in the early stages and had to be steadied off heels leaving the 600M when PROLETAIRE, who was racing greenly, shifted out abruptly.
 
MISHANI WRANGLER – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 2: STRATHAYR WINTER PROVINCIAL SPRINTERS SERIES (HEAT) BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 1100M
 
The start of this race was delayed when REBEL ROVER and MY MAISIE both dislodged their riders at the barriers and galloped riderless around the circumference of the track.  Both horses were finally recaptured without harm.  Jockey N. Tomizawa (REBEL ROVER) was examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers and cleared of any injury.  Jockey W. O’Connell (MY MAISIE) was also examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers, and was found to have sustained a dislocated finger on his left hand and, as a result, was stood down from his remaining engagements.  Rider replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
REBEL ROVER and MY MAISIE were declared late scratchings by order of stewards at 5.52PM. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on REBEL ROVER and MY MAISIE be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
6 cents in the dollar for the Win #7
7 cents in the dollar for place of winner #7
9 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #5
9 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #8
 
I AM BOSS – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
LIMERICK MOON – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
SAIPAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
START DREAMIN – Slow to begin.  Held up for clear running rounding the home turn, and was then disappointed for a run on a number of occasions in the home straight, and went to the line without being tested.
 
TURBO TEDDY – Raced wide throughout.  When tiring in the home straight had a tendency to lay in under pressure.
 
FAIR RULER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and then had an interrupted run until a point passing the 100M.
 
Race 3: UBET CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed due to a stable hand receiving Ambulance attention.
 
NAVAJO PRINCE – Had to be steadied off heels over the final 100M, and as a result had to alter course to the outside to obtain clear running.
 
NOTHING TO DANCE – Raced wide from leaving the 700M.
 
PATCHE GIFT – Bumped and then hampered by HIDDEN ANGEL (Apprentice H. English) passing the 900M when that horse was taken in by PONTY (Apprentice A. Spinks) which shifted in whilst hanging in.  Apprentice Spinks was severely reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he will be expected to make more effort to straighten his mount sooner than he did. 
 
HE’S ALL HEART – Began awkwardly.  Had to be steadied off heels at the 900M.  Raced wide from leaving the 700M.
 
MY CRIMSON LAD – Slow to begin.  Bumped heavily when OUR BOY BOLT shifted out approaching the 200M.  Apprentice N. Keal was reprimanded for using the whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100M.  In determining penalty, Stewards took into account Apprentice Keal’s previous good record, and his inexperience.  Stewards also reminded Apprentice Keal to be mindful of using the whip on a horse when out of contention.
 
OUR BOY BOLT – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.  Became unbalanced after bumping MY CRIMSON LAD approaching the 200M.
 
PONTY –  On returning to scale, Apprentice A. Spinks weighed in in excess of 0.5kg over his allotted weight.  Apprentice Spinks was fined $200.
 
CONNOR – As W. O’Connell was stood down due to injury following the running of Race 2, S. Apthorpe was substituted as rider.
 
Race 4: GC EVENT HIRE CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1300M
 
The start of this race was delayed when LOFN was reluctant to proceed to the barriers.  Trainer C. Smith was advised that the mare would now be barred from racing at TAB venues until its manners improved at non-TAB meetings.
 
PALACE TYCOON - Trainer T. Sears was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
SANKARA SPIRIT – Forced wider on the track passing the 800M when LOFN shifted out to improve. 
 
I’VE GOT FRIENDS – Raced three wide without cover for the majority.
 
TRUMP IT UP – Held up rounding the home turn, and again from the 400M to the 200M.
 
DRIVING WHEELS – Slow to begin.
 
LOFN – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 1625M
 
STREET SAVVY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.  Shifted three wide to improve after leaving the 800M and raced in that position for the remainder.
 
VIMZIG – Slow to begin.  Had to be steadied off heels rounding the home turn when attempting a doubtful run and had to alter course to the inside to obtain clear running, and was further held up for clear running until a point passing the 100M.  Apprentice N. Keal was advised by Stewards that he should not attempt a run that could put him in danger, and he was also advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future.
 
UNASSUMING – Raced wide rounding the home turn.  Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALWAYS A GIBBERER – As W. O’Connell was stood down due to injury following the running of Race 2, Apprentice B. Stower was substituted as rider.  Overraced and raced keenly despite the efforts of its rider in the early and middle stages, and also got its head up on a number of occasions.
 
Race 6: DARLING DOWNS BRICK SALES BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 870M
 
PAYBACK – Severely tightened for room on jumping away.
 
CORRYVRECKAN – Blundered on jumping away.  Had a tendency to lay in approaching the 100M and had to be steadied off the heels of another runner.
 
INVITTO – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
ZOUZOUKAKIA – Jumped away awkwardly.  Had a tendency to lay in in the home straight despite the efforts of its rider.
 
CAMBOOYA ROCK – Bumped heavily at the start.  Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight restricting the rider from riding her mount out.
 
AMENZEL – Severely tightened for room on jumping away.
 
Race 7: SEDL AGENCIES MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
HAYNATRID – Slow to being.
 
MISTER CALYPSO – Raced three wide without cover throughout.  Jockey Brad Appo was reminded of the rules relating to whip use, and he was further advised to be mindful of his obligation to ride his mounts out right to the line and not leave himself open to question.
 
PHAR CZAR – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with the barrier partition.  Apprentice N. Keal was reminded of the rules relating to whip use, and he was further advised to be mindful of his obligation to ride his mounts out right to the line and not leave himself open to question.
 
WILY MISS – Slow to begin.  Jockey N. Nishio was reminded of his obligations regarding the use of the whip on a horse when out of contention.
 
MARANETTA – Raced three wide with cover throughout.  When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, jockey Beau Appo advised that he was instructed to obtain a leading position today if possible, however after his mount began fairly the horse was unable to muster enough speed to obtain such a position.  Jockey Appo advised that he elected to obtain a position with cover behind SAY CAVALLO, the eventual winner of the race, and his mount then travelled reasonably to a point approaching the 500M, however jockey Appo added that, in his opinion, the horse then failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing over the concluding stages.
 
SAY CAVALLO – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
