BrennanStewards Secretary – M. Weir SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT Toowoomba – Wednesday 31.10.18 – Inner Hurry (R1)Trainer J. Judge advised Stewards that following the event a veterinary examination revealed that the mare had tied up, was suffering from a virus, and will be treated accordingly. He added that the mare will be sent for an immediate spell. GENERAL As Queensland Ambulance Officers were required to attend to an ill patron following the running of Race 4, the starting times of Races 5 and 6 were amended from those originally advertised as follows: Race 4 – 7.40pmRace 5 – 8.10pm Race 1: PG AGRIFOOD CLASS 1 PLATE – 1625M MR MISUNDERSTOOD – Steadied from heels whilst overracing when rounding the turn near the 1300m. PANALLEY – Raced in restricted room and was eased when BY THE LAW (R. Ride) shifted in when not completely clear approaching the 1300m. Jockey R. Ride was reprimanded as a result of this incident. PETAIN – Held up and unable to improve from the 500m until the early stages of the home straight. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. THE SHOWMAN – Raced keenly in the early stages. CROSSING THE TEE – Steadied to avoid heels near the 850m. JET’N’WILD – Slow to begin. Jockey R. Goltz reported that after being slow to begin the mare failed to muster early speed, and despite his efforts to improve trailed the field for some distance in the early and middle stages before making strong late ground in the home straight. BOLD TEMPTATION – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Race 2: OAKEY ELECTRICAL BI-RITE/BLACK ISUZU UTE TWMBA BENCHMARK 62 H’CAP – 1100M ARCHIE’S SON – Jumped in the air at the start, and then bumped shortly after the start. Race 3: CHRISTINE TULLY CHIROPRACTIC MAIDEN H’CAP – 1300M ASHES TO ASHES – Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 700m and, as a result, raced wide for the remainder. IGNITE THE MAGIC – After being caught wide in the early stages, the gelding was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader near the 900m. FAKE NEWS – Restrained near the 400m to avoid the heels of ROSENDAHL RED (G. Geran). App. S. Sweeney, the rider of COSTA BLANCA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 400m she permitted her mount to shift out in an attempt to secure clear running, and in doing so bumped FAKE NEWS (E. Ljung) which resulted in its rider having to take hold to avoid the heels of ROSENDAHL RED. App. S. Sweeney’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 8 days, to commence at midnight on Thursday 8 November 2018 and expire at midnight on Friday 16 November 2018. Race 4: B&B MACHINERY TOOWOOMBA MAIDEN H’CAP – 1050M After being fractious in the enclosure, STAR BOOM was examined by the veterinary surgeon upon arriving at the barriers and passed fit to start. PRICE ONA GOODTIME – Slow to begin. HAMBURGER – Bumped at the start. Momentarily steadied when placed in restricted room leaving the 400m. ALTERNATE ROUTE – Steadied whilst weakening near the 300m when placed in restricted by PIGINARKI (R. Goltz) which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey R. Goltz was reprimanded as a result of this incident. HOT CORONA – Bumped at the start. BOOMTOWN BABE – Shifted out abruptly after being brushed by another runner near the 700m and, as a result, raced wide for a short distance. STAR BOOM – Bumped on jumping away. Race 5: OAKEY TYRERIGHT BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 1625M JUST AS LOYAL – Slow to begin. Race 6: LANDMARK OAKEY, PITTSWORTH & COLONSAY CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1300M CAPTAIN CARTS – Dipped shortly after the start and lost ground. FRENCH JET – Laid in in the home straight.
