Race 3: TASC NATIONAL LTD BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP– 1200M

As Jockey Brad Appo was ill he was replaced on  HALFETI by Jockey K. Yoshida.

As it was DAZET’S third run this week the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.

On return to scale, K. Yoshida rider of the third placegetter, HALFETI lodged an objection against DAZET being declared second place, alleging interference leaving the 200m and over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards were of the view that leaving the 200m HALFETI was momentarily crowded for room between SEMTEX and DAZET. Then over the concluding stages commenced to shift in away from DAZET on its own accord. Therefore for those reasons stewards could not be satisfied  to alter the placings also bearing in mind the margin between the runners at the conclusion of the event. Therefore stewards dismissed the objection.

RICH TRADITION – Began awkwardly, making contact with the barrier gate resulting in the rider becoming unbalanced. Rider reported that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout.

HALFETI – Momentarily crowded for room between runners leaving the 200m. Shifted in on its own accord over the concluding stages and bumped another runner.

SEMTEX – Bumped over the concluding stages.

HENRY’S ON COURSE – Laid in over the concluding stages.

NAMO KEKENI – Began awkwardly. Rider B. Appo could offer no tangible excuse for the seemingly disappointing performance of the mare. Trainer representative S. Iverson advised that the mare would now be spelled.
