Race 1: HELLO HARRY FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1210M
 
PIGINARKI – Raced in restricted room near the 800m, and had to be steadied for a short distance. Laid in for the majority of the home straight.
 
DIARIST – Began awkwardly. Commenced to overrace and got its head in the air after being crossed by another runner near the 1100m and, as a result, had to be eased from heels for some distance. Made contact with the running rail passing the 1000m. Eased when placed in restricted room near the 800m. Commenced to lay out and had to be eased when awkwardly placed at heels near the 550m, and again near the 400m. Shifted out and bumped another runner leaving the 300m when attempting to obtain clear running and, as a result, was obliged to shift back in to secure clear running. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no significant findings.
 
THIS GIRLS ON FIRE – Raced 3 wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
 
ROTINDY – Slow to begin, and then had to be eased from heels when tightened for room shortly after the start. Got its head in the air whilst being eased from heels near the 1100m. Bumped by another runner upon entering the home straight.
 
GOLD EPAULETTE – Knuckled shortly after the start. Apprentice H. Phillips was reprimanded for using her whip on the filly whilst it was out of contention.
 
ROSEXCEL – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start.
 
LADY SELKIE – As jockey R. Faehr was unable to attend the meeting due to personal reasons, Stewards permitted the late scratching of the mare at 2.28pm when no other rider was available.
 
STAR OF COLUMBIA – Began awkwardly. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
Race 2: PRO-CLEAR CLASS 3 PLATE – 1640M
 
The start of this race was delayed to enable the broadcast of an intrastate event.
 
EARL OF FORDYCE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
TOORAK COMEDY – Improved onto heels and had to be steadied near the 800m.
 
BOLTIN’ DESIRE – Bumped and taken in by another runner leaving the 300m.
 
FLYING COLOURS – Got its head in the air whilst being steadied from heels near the 800m, and again near the 600m.
 
ROSENDAHL RED – Shifted in to obtain clear running leaving the 300m and, as a result, bumped another runner. S. Apthorpe, the rider of ROSENDAHL RED, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
VANDALUSCIOUS – Eased near the 1400m when placed in restricted room by EARL OF FORDYCE (App. H. Phillips) which shifted in. Apprentice H. Phillips was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages, and had to be eased on a number of occasions.
 
Race 3: THE BAVARIAN MAIDEN PLATE – 1640M
 
ADSUM – Became fractious prior to the start being effected, and was slow to begin. Apprentice B. Nothdurft accidentally dropped his whip shortly after straightening.
 
BRAZEN CHOICE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Buffeted between runners near the 400m.
 
SHINING BLUE – Laid out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
UBIRR ROCK – Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted out to avoid heels whilst racing keenly approaching the 1200m which resulted in BENCISTRESS being taken wider on the track for a short distance.
 
FAKE NEWS – Buffeted between runners near the 400m.
 
MORE OF MARY – Held up rounding the home turn, and again upon entering the home straight. The tongue-tie on the mare became displaced in running.
 
BENICSTRESS – Shifted out abruptly near the 1300m to avoid the heels of UBIRR ROCK (S. Apthorpe) which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey S. Apthorpe was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
Race 4: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1110M
 
AXLROWS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
CANFORD TREE – Raced 3 wide without cover until the 800m when jockey K. Yoshida permitted his mount to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader approaching the 600m.
 
HEARTS LIKE OURS – Eased from heels shortly after the start. Hung out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Hanna was advised that the gelding will require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start.
 
JETSEVENTEEN – Shifted in and brushed the running rail approaching the 1000m, and again near the 900m. Steadied from heels approaching the 800m, and shifted wider on the track. Forced wider on the track by another runner leaving the 500m.
 
DAME ELLIE – Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Checked from heels approaching the 800m when AXLROWS (App. H. Phillips) shifted in and slowed the pace excessively. Apprentice H. Phillips was reprimanded as a result of this incident. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
LET SARA ROCK – Laid in in the home straight.
 
TOUGH TIMES – Bumped another runner shortly after the start.
 
Race 5: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 1000M
 
The start of this race was delayed when CAMBOOYA ROCK proved difficult to load.
 
THE REAL BOSS – Trainer T. Sears was fined $100 for the late declaration of N. Tomizawa as rider. Jumped in the air at the start, and them knuckled shortly after the start. Heavily bumped by NOW YOU SEE near the 750m. Jockey N. Tomizawa could offer no tangible explanation for the disappointing performance. Stewards will question Trainer T. Sears at a later date in relation to the performance. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings.
 
NOW YOU SEE – Heavily bumped by THE REAL BOSS near the 750m. Shifted in under pressure whilst laying in over the concluding stages resulting in THE REAL BOSS (N. Tomizawa) being tightened for room and taken in onto CAMBOOYA ROCK (E. Ljung) which was also tightened for room at that point. NOW YOU SEE (App. M. Wishart) continued to shift in over the concluding stages resulting in CAMBOOYA ROCK having to steady from heels. Apprentice M. Wishart was reprimanded for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in.
 
CAMBOOYA ROCK – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition and, as a result, jockey E. Ljung lost the use of her right stirrup for a short distance. Steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
TYCOON ZIP – The tongue-tie on the gelding became displaced in running.
 
Race 6: FURNEYS MAIDEN PLATE – 1210M
 
KINGSTON CAUSEWAY – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
NORTHERN DREAMS – Tightened for room on jumping away.
 
SKIPPER’S CALL – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
ZOUZOUZALO – Slow to begin. Jockey R. Goldsbury reported that her mount hung out from the 800m until straightening.
 
CASINO BEACH – Slow to begin. Laid in in the home straight.
 
OUR LIL’ HUSSEY – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 7: LIVING TURF COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1210M
