RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT TOOWOOMBA TURF CLUB, SATURDAY, 7 SEPTEMBER 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING - GOOD 4 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – L. HicksStewards – J. Hackett, L. Wain Race 1: Toowoomba Hospice Benchmark 62 H’cap – 1050m ANAKYN DARAXES: Slow to begin. INKBLOT – Began awkwardly and was hampered shortly after the start. SPECTRUMS RHYTHM – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in bumped another runner SNIPETRON – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Following the race the horse was found to have bled from one nostril. Trainer R. Lyford was advised that the horse must galloped 1000m in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again. SAILOR GERRI – Disappointed for a run approaching the 200m and shifted wider to obtain clear running. MISS BENETEAU – Inclined to lay in in the straight. Race 2: Neil Mansell Transport Benchmark 62 H’cap – 1625m OUR DILEMMA – Jumped awkwardly and blundered. Approaching the 400m momentarily became unbalanced and shifted in brushing the running rail. When questioned, apprentice M. Wishart reported that after her mount became unbalanced and did not respond to her riding and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. HARADIFY – Raced wide in the early stages before taking up a position approaching the 1100m CHICAGO NIGHTS – Held up rounding the home turn and upon straightening became awkward and at the heels of the tiring YOUL BEATEM and momentarily tightened CHOPPA to its inside who was also weakening at that point of the race UNO TOPS – Slow to begin and raced greenly in the middle stages. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Jockey J. Grob was fined $100 for excessive use of his whip in the straight. CHOPPA – Overraced in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead approaching the 1000m. Momentarily tightened for room on straightening whilst weakening STORMY LEO – Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn Race 3: Wilmott Accounting Class 3 Plate – 1300m SIR BAM – Due to transport difficulties, apprentice N. Masuda replaced apprentice C. Frater-Hill. Steadied from heels of NICCONI BAY approaching the 900m and began to overrace for a short distance thereafter. TEJAAN – Jumped away awkwardly making contact with the barrier partition and lost ground. STELLAR JEWEL – Raced greenly in the early stages BEL BEAU – Shifted out rounding the home turn to improve, making contact with a runner to its outside, BLUE MONTE, which in turn shifted out on to TEJAAN. JUST FAVULOUS – Disappointed for a run when rounding the home turn between LUKEY DEE and A LITTLE WICKED. Approaching the 200m had to be steadied from heels and laid out under pressure. When questioned, rider M. Wishart reported that when she steadied from heels approaching the 200m her mount became momentarily unbalanced and failed to respond to her riding from that point on. Race 4: Austbrokers HCI Maiden H’cap – 1300m RABOLINI – Jockey M. Wishart was dislodged from her mount en route to the barriers, the gelding made heavy contact with the outside running rail and traveling for some distance. The horse was declared a late scratching by way of the Stewards at 7.28 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on RABOLINI were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable. 10 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets8 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place9 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets13 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets Trainer K Jones will be advised that gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. Correct weight was delayed to allow the rider and connections of the 2nd placegetter, CLEAR SAILING, to view the footage of the race to ascertain whether they had grounds lodge a protest against LAKE HILLIER being declared the winner. Subsequently, they did not wish to proceed and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings. WOOLLAHRA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey G Geran reported that when he pressured his mount leaving the 600m it failed to respond to his riding and he had some concerns with the geldings action therefore elected to retired it from the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards advised connections that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before being permitted to race again. PADDLEPOP – Slow to begin and overraced for a short distance passing the 1000m. Leaving the 400m became awkward at the heels of MOSS ‘N’ DIAMONDS and shifted out to obtain clear running and bumped REG ‘N’ KATH. LAKE HILLIER – Inclined to lay in in the straight MOSS ‘N’ DIAMONDS – Overraced in the early and middle stages. REG ‘N’ KATH – Shifted wider when bumped by MOSS AND DIAMONDS passing the 400m. DOONYA – After beginning well from a wide barrier was caught 3 wide and raced in that position throughout Race 5: Morgans Plumbing Class 5 H’cap – 1100m ANOTHER SIN – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out making contact with the runner to its outside MAC’S GAL - Shifted in at the start and made heavy contact with ARCHER’S TREASURE and became momentarily unbalanced. Raced 3 wide. ARCHER’S TREASURE – Bumped heavily by another runner shortly after the start MAGINOT LINE – Tightened between runners upon jumping LAST ARMAGEDDON – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in LWAZI – Slow to begin Race 6: Sharpe Workplace Solutions QTIS 3yo Class 2 H’cap – 1050m SHOOTING LOVE – Laid out under pressure in the straight. EMOTIVE MOUNTAIN – Shortly after the start was tightened between MOCKING, which shifted out, and BLUE’S READY, which shifted in. KASITA – Hampered by PATCHES, which shifted in shortly after the start and had to be steadied and lost ground PATCHES – After beginning well from a wide barrier was caught wide and obliged to race 3 wide for the remainder Race 7: Wilsonton Meats Maiden H’cap – 1100m LEOPARD QUEEN – Was examined at the barriers and declared a late scratching at 9.01 pm on veterinary advice after the horse was found to be lame in the near hindleg. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable. 6 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets8 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place6 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets8 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start. LITTLE ALBERT – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running for some distance rounding the home turn. Shifted wider on the track approaching the 200m to obtain clear running. COUNTESS NATALIE – Shifted in shortly after the start, making contact with GIVEMEAMINUTE on a number of occasions. GIVEMEAMINUTE – Placed in restricted room when crossed by ABITOFACARD shortly after the start when not fully clear. Jockey G. Geran, rider of ABITOFACARD, was reprimanded for shifting ground when insufficiently clear. ABITOFACARD – Approaching the 800m had to be checked and shifted wider across the heels of HEART ATTACK. Jockey N. Evans, rider of HEART ATTACK, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that he shifted in at this stage when insufficiently clear. Jockey Evans was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 14 September and to expire at midnight, 22 September. SURPRISE SELECTION – Raced wide throughout.
