GENERAL
 
Due to the transfer of this meeting from Sunday 14 June 2020, Stewards accepted the explanations provided by a number of trainers regarding the late declaration of riders as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: WIN LOCAL NEWS QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1110M
 
FIVE OXFORD – Laid in under pressure in the home straight, and made contact with the running rail passing the 100m.
 
DRAGON MISS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the filly had tied up.
 
JUDDER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
Race 2: PRO-CLEAR MAIDEN PLATE – 1210M
 
KNUCKLEBOX – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WOODY WOOD DUCK – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
LICENCE TO ROCK – Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
REG ‘N’ KATH – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
D’OR DAME – Bumped when tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
SIZZLING DIAMOND – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
HEAD CHEF – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
GARTMORN – As the gelding had not raced for over 12 months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Bumped shortly after the start.
 
Race 3: VALE MORGAN O’BRIEN BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 870M
 
TWO ‘N’ WELLGO – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
REMLAPS ROCK – Lost the near hind plate in running. Apprentice N. Keal was reprimanded for using his whip in consecutive strides whilst rounding the home turn.
 
MAGIC INK – Jumped with its head in the air and lost ground.
 
MIDNIGHT MATINEE – Began awkwardly, and was then tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Momentarily steadied and eased to avoid the heels of WOOHOO GIRL which shifted in abruptly near the 500m.
 
Following the running of this race, jockey B. Stewart, the rider of MAN IN MOTION, reported that he had injured his foot in the barriers at the start of this event.
 
Race 4: HYGAIN MAIDEN H’CAP – 1640M
 
EL RANCHOS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting a poor post-race recovery, and to be suffering from the thumps.
 
MORE THAN CHARGED – Raced keenly in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 800m.
 
GOLDEN JAZZ – Jumped with its head in the air. Bumped by another runner near the 1300m and forced wider on the track.
 
PEBKAC – Declared a late scratching at 11.30am due to transport difficulties.
 
RUFF IT UP – Raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained for a considerable distance in the early stages.
 
Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 62 H’CAP – 1640M
 
HARADIFY – Raced in restricted room whilst racing keenly for a short distance near the 1200m. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
MISS SILKY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NORTHERN DRAGON – Forced to shift to the outside off heels to secure clear running passing the 200m.
 
ROULETTE ROYAL – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which compounded from the 700m, revealed it to be exhibiting a poor post-race recovery.
 
Following the running of this race, jockey B. Stewart advised that he was suffering some discomfort in his foot, and would be unable to fulfil his remaining engagements. Jockey Stewart was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to resuming riding. Riding replacements were made in Races 6, 7, 8 and 9 as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 6: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 62 H’CAP – 1640M
 
HELLAVA BABE – Tightened for room at the start. Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 900m and, as a result, raced wide for the remainder.
 
RERUN – After being caught wide in the early stages, the gelding was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader approaching the 1200m.
 
INCHING CLOSER – Disappointed for a run passing the 100m and, as a result, went to the line without being fully tested.
 
TERRIUS – When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance, trainer T. Sears advised that, in his opinion, the gelding is better suited in races when able to lead and, for that reason, he had instructed jockey M. Cahill to stride forward to obtain this position if possible. He added that the gelding was fitter for its second run over the 1640m today, and based on these factors, he had expected a forward showing from the gelding. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
MISHANI ROMANCE – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early and middle stages.
 
ELECTRIC ELLYSE – Tightened for room at the start.
 
Race 7: POTTERS BOUTIQUE HOTEL CLASS 3 PLATE – 1300M
 
MISTER WARD – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
TABARD – Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority.
 
MURLESS – Dipped of its own accord near the 400m.
 
PROUD ROC – Slightly slow to begin.
 
COMMANDER SARA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FLAUNT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HIGHFALUTIN GAL – Slightly slow to begin. Lost the near hind plate in running.
 
Race 8: AUDI CENTRE TOOWOOMBA QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1050M
 
PATCHES – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority.
 
SPINNING SPIRIT – After being crossed by another runner leaving the 800m, the filly was steadied to avoid heels whilst racing keenly. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
BETTER THINKING – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
MAD IRISH TYCOON – Stewards accepted the explanation provided by trainer T. Button regarding the late scratching of the gelding at 9.45am.
 
KASITA – Steadied to avoid heels shortly after the start. Steadied to avoid heels shortly after straightening.
 
TOP SOCIETY – Slow to begin. Checked to avoid heels shortly after the start.
 
GIBBO’S GIRL – Raced in restricted room and lost ground when runners to either side shifted ground shortly after the start. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority.
 
Race 9: TOOWOOMBA PLASTICS BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 1210M
 
The start of this race was delayed when ESSAKA, which became fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
BUZZER BEATER – Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels near the 900m. Improved onto heels and was steadied passing the 50m.
 
BELLE’S PLUCK – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RUN THE CUTTER – Bumped on jumping, and then raced in restricted room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
GUNNOBE – Momentarily forced wider on the track near the 900m. Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully tested.
 
FRENCH OCEAN – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
