Apprentice A Patis advised that after beginning awkwardly, the gelding settled further back than she had expected. She explained that near the 1100m after being crossed by HEAVENLY ARCHER her mount commenced to over race and at that point, she elected to obtain cover behind that runner, instead of a position three wide. App. A Patis further added that in her opinion the gelding may not have been suited by the quick back up from its most recent start. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings and a post-race swab was taken for analysis.
