DANCING ANGEL- Laid in under pressure in the home straight. CHAMBERLAIN- App. M Savva was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted. JAYDEE INDY- Raced keenly in the early stages. PRINCESS KAYO- Checked to avoid heels near the 150m. At a subsequent inquiry jockey B Appo (LOVE YERS ALL) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in at that point of the race causing interference to PRINCESS KAYO. Jockey Appo’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence at midnight 24.10.20 and to expire at midnight 02.11.20. RERUN- Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. LOVE YERS ALL- Began awkwardly. BEL BEAU- Near the 900m, when being restrained, raced with its head in the air for a short distance. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 2: TOTALLY WORKWEAR Class 1 Handicap 1050 metres The start was delayed when jockey R Goltz was dislodged from AVOWAL in the enclosure. Following the event jockey Goltz reported he was suffering some discomfort in his right hip and arm as a result of this incident. Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to review the start to determine if AVOWAL was afforded a fair start. After reviewing the footage stewards found that as the start was effected the horse reared high in the barriers striking it head on the barrier partition and as a consequence lost considerable ground (Approximately 50m). As stewards were of the view that the actions of AVOWAL were the sole factor in it losing ground at the start it was a confirmed runner in the event. Trainer L Hatch was advised the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to next racing. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any abnormalities. In this incident Jockey R Goltz was struck in the jaw by the head of AVOWAL placing him in some discomfort. IN AGREEMENT- Slow to begin AURORA CHARM- Near the 900m momentarily placed in restricted room and eased when DRAGON MISS shifted in. Race 5: SPRINGS CHILDCARE CENTRE QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 11metres As a result of the fall in the previous event, the starting time of this race was amended to 7:32pm. Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred near the 75m where COUNT THE COIN was tightened for room and lost ground. After taking evidence from Jockey R Goltz (COUNT THE COIN), M McGillivray (ANYWAY YOU WANT IT) and App. G Cartwright (FOREVER VOLO) stewards found that COUNT THE COIN was tightened for room and lost ground when ANYWAY YOU WANT IT shifted in whilst laying in under hard riding. COUNT THE COIN was further hampered a short distance later when ANYWAY YOU WANT IT was taken in by FOREVER VOLO which laid in despite the efforts of its rider. As stewards were unable to fully attribute blame to any one rider, they deemed the matter a racing incident and took the matter no further. Nevertheless, Jockey M McGillivray was reminded of his obligations to stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion. ANYWAY YOU WANT IT- Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. COUNT THE COIN- Began awkwardly and was bumped at the start.
