Woodham SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT From Friday 30 October 2020 Stewards today inquired into the circumstances surrounding App. M Wishart being dislodged from ALERT AND READY near the 500m in Race 5 (The Pat O’Shea Plate 1000m) at the Toowoomba meeting on 26 September 2020. Evidence was taken from App. Wishart and Jockey N Evans the rider of GOLDEN GROOVE. Subsequently Jockey Evans pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that as the rider of GOLDEN GROOVE he permitted his mount to shift out near the 500m when insufficiently clear of ALERT AND READY resulting in that runner clipping heels, blundering and App Wishart being dislodged. Jockey Evans license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 weeks to commence midnight 7 November 2020 and to expire midnight 28 November 2020. Race 1: MOORE LEWIS & PARTNERS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1210metres TISANI MAGIC- Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. MADAM SHAZAM- Stood Flat footed at the start and lost ground, before failing to muster speed and trailing the field throughout. A post-race Veterinary Examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer C Rogers was advised that in light of tonight’s performance the mare would be barred from competing at provincial TAB meetings until its form improves at country venues. RIDEONABIGJETPLANE- Jumped with its head in the air and lost ground. KEEP ON LOVING YOU- Rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m. Race 2: LEASELINK BUSINESS FINANCE BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1300 metres BRUTUS- Due to a clerical error, K.Cowan was incorrectly displayed as the rider of the gelding and as such M Savva was the replacement rider. The start was delayed to allow the broadcast of an interstate event. FAT MAX- Rider reported that the gelding travelled comfortably during the event, however when placed under pressure, failed to run on as she had expected and proved disappointing. Trainer K. Kemp expressed disappointment with the run of the gelding however could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance. Mr Kemp did however advise that in light of the performance he may experiment with the horse’s gear for its next start. THE IRONS- Raced 3 wide without cover from the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and shifted in bumping another runner near the 100m. MISHANI ISTANA- Raced 4 wide without cover from the 800m. Jockey B Moffat was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. CINCINNATI RED- Laid in under pressure in the home straight. MISS DYNAMIC- Bumped by another runner near the 100m. LOVE YERS ALL- Laid out rounding the home turn. Race 3: CAW BOOKKEEPING Class 1 Handicap 1100metres AURORA CHARM- Slow to begin. FOREVER VOLO- Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. NO NO NINETTE- Began awkwardly losing ground. After being caught wide in the early stages was restrained by its rider to a position closer to the rails approaching the 600m. GHABBIE- Laid in from the 400m. DRAGON MISS- Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. THE EXHIBITIONIST- Tightened for room and eased near the 300m when GHABBIE laid in and away from FOREVER VOLO which shifted in slightly. HER OPTION- Tightened for room on jumping. Had some difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight. LIGHTHORSE- Jockey H Phillips was fined $300 for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. Race 4: TOTALLY BAKED GRAND CENTRAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1880 metres BASIL- Laid out rounding the home turn. GOTTA BE FIRST- Slow to begin. IN YOUR ELEMENT- Jockey M Savva was fined $300 for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. RHYME TIME- Began awkwardly. SARASUN- Began awkwardly and settled further back than anticipated.Steadied from heels and shifted wider for a short distance near the 800m. Disappointed for a run upon straightening. AIRLIE MAN- Raced with its head in the air whilst be restrained for some distance passing the 1500m. RIVER OF LOVE- Tightened shortly after the start. Laid in and was steadied from heels near the 100m. Jockey A Spinks was fined $500 for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. Race 5: PETA SORENSEN BOOKKEEPER QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1300 metres COUNT THE COIN- Steadied when placed in restricted room by ALL GAIN (J Morris) near the 500m. J Morris was advised to exercise more care. Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn. FOREVER BEN- After being caught wide in the early stages was ridden forward by its rider to assume the leading position near the 800m. Momentarily raced in restricted room in the early stages of the home straight while commencing to weaken. ALL GAIN- Raced with its head in the air whilst being retrained near the 1100m. COMMANDING SPIRIT- Bumped heavily by another runner rounding the home turn. FINAL CRIME- Raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained near the 900m. Laid in rounding the home turn making heavy contact with another runner. GOLD JET- Raced keenly in the early stages and was eased from heels near the 950m. Race 6: CARPETONE TOOWOOMBA Maiden Handicap 1210metres The start was delayed when a number of runners were fractious behind the barriers. TINI TEE- As Jockey J Morris was overweight he was replaced as the rider of the mare by K Yoshida. Jockey Morris was reprimanded. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that Jockey Morris was resuming from an extended absence from riding. TWO SHADES- Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. BOLD ANGEL- Fractious behind the barriers. A warning was issued against the mare.Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. HE'S ALL READY- Slow into stride. MISTER QUICKSTEP- Raced greenly during the event. Raced wide without cover throughout. CRIBBY MISS- Stood flat footed at the start and lost ground. KRUSTALLOS- Proved difficult to load. Trainers representative Ms N Hemmings was advised she would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for the mare prior to next racing. Laid out rounding the home turn. Stewards questioned trainers representative Ms N Hemmings in relation to the improved performance. Ms Hemmings advised that the mares form prior to its first up run from a spell in her opinion was sound. She further advised that the mare has a history of hitting itself in trackwork and races and therefore with corrective shoeing this issue had resolved which may have also been an assistance to the mare. PERSIAN KING- Laid out from the 400m. LET'S BOOM- Held up rounding the home turn. Race 7: HAPPY 50TH ANGUS CORKE Maiden Plate 870 metres LITTLE MISS ADDI- Raced in restricted room in the early stages. STELLAR ROAMER-Slow to begin. TINY TEE- Slow to begin. BLUE HARMONY- Bumped shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 8: AUDI CENTRE TOOWOOMBA Maiden Plate 870 metres SINGLE RISE- Tightened for room shortly after the start. JONDY ALL SET- Jockey H Phillips was fined $300 for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. NAYTELLRHI BIRD- Raced greenly in the early stages.
