Race 1: SHANNON SIGN COMPANY Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
BRUTUS- As App. K Cowan was unable to fulfil her engagement due to the time changes at the Doomben meeting, App. M Savva was the replacement rider on the gelding. After being caught wide in the early stages was restrained to a position one off the fence with cover passing the 800m. Apprentice M Savva was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
MUZZLEFLASH- A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have bled from both nostrils during the event. Trainer R Stephenson was advised that as this is the first occasion on which the gelding had bled it would now be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and further will be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to next racing.
 
KANAVU- Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and shifted in abruptly near the 150m.
 
BESTERS- Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages and raced 3 wide without cover throughout the event.
 
RERUN- Jockey N Evans pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner during the event. Jockey N Evans license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence midnight 28/11/20 (the expiration date of a suspension previously incurred) and to expire midnight 06/12/20.
 
TURBO TEDDY- Near the 1100m raced in restricted room for a short a distance.
 
Race 2: EZYWALKER Maiden Handicap 1300 metres
 
LET'S BOOM- As App. K Cowan was unable to fulfill her engagement due to the time changes at the Doomben meeting, D McGillivray was the replacement rider on the gelding. App D McGillivray was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount to the conclusion of the event.
 
MONACO DELUXE- The gelding dislodged is rider during the preliminary and galloped a short distance before being captured. On arrival at the barriers was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start. Near the 700m improved onto heels and was eased. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
MOOK- Began awkwardly. Leaving the 900m was bumped and momentarily forced wider. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority of the event. Jockey P Randall was issued a reprimand  under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
ROKATANNBY- Slow to begin.
 
JET ESPRIT- Near the 900m, raced in restricted room for a short distance.
 
MAKE MINE MAGIC- Near the 700m improved onto heels and was eased.
 
MYKISS FROMA ROSE- Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority. App M Savva was fined $200 under AR211 for returning to scale in excess of 0.5kg overweight. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account App. Savva’s prior good record in relation to this rule.
 
TOP TINKA- Leaving the 900m, was steadied when momentarily placed in restricted room by MOOK which shifted in after briefly being forced wider on the track. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 3: VALE PETER GARROD RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 870 metres
 
GODFATHER'S GIRL- Knuckled on jumping and was then bumped heavily shortly after the start and as a result lost ground. Made contact with the running rail near the 700m.
 
SPECIAL CASE- Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THIRTEEN BUTTONS- Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with another runner.
 
Race 4: MNP SECURITY BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1625 metres
 
RECALL EVENTS- When racing keenly near the 1000m shifted out abruptly and as a consequence raced 3 wide for the remainder of the event.
 
DUSI CANOE- On retuning to scale Jockey S Bogenhuber reported that in her opinion the gelding failed to run out the 1625m of tonight’s event which she felt was the major contributing factor to the below market expectation performance.
 
DOMINANT WITNESS- Near the 1000m was momentarily steadied to avoid heels.
 
ALIRAAJ- As a result of racing keenly in the early and middle stages, Jockey L Tilley elected to ride the gelding forward to assume a position outside the leader near the 800m. Laid out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 5: HIGHFIELDS BUILDER Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
HIGH GLAMOUR- Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
COURTING VERITY- Slow to begin.
 
MYOLA MILLY- Slow to begin. On returning to scale Jockey J Stanley reported that the mare failed to travel strongly during the event which he attributed it to it stepping back in distance for tonight’s race. He added the mare had a tendency to lay in throughout the event and in his opinion only finished the race off fairly in the home straight.
 
Race 6: COCA COLA AMATIL Class 2 Handicap 1850 metres
 
BRACKEN- Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
OPEN ROAD- Began awkwardly.
 
Race 7: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT Maiden Plate 1625 metres
 
ANACHEEVA LAD- After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position one off the fence near the 1200m.
 
FIORCAST- Approaching the 400m steadied and lost ground when racing to the inside of ANACHEEVA LAD which shifted in after being taken in by A’YUN (N Tomizawa) which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey N Tomizawa was advised to exercise more care. Near the 350m was momentarily steadied when attempting to secure clear running to the inside of another runner.
 
AYUN- Jockey N Tomizawa was reprimanded for using his whip excessively during the event.
