GENERAL
 
Trainer M Boland was issued a $300 fine under AR68 for failing to scratch SINGLE SKIP by the prescribed time.
 
Race 1: MOORE TRAILERS Class 2 Plate 1300 metres
 
EXCEED ROCK – When questioned in regard to the below market expectation performance Apprentice N Fazakerley advised the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the event however when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to quicken as expected and, in his opinion, proved disappointing.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
HEART ATTACK – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
PROVOCATIVE MAN – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority.
 
EGO DANCER – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
JABALIC – On retuning to scale Jockey J Murphy advised his mount felt uncomfortable in its action. A Post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be showing signs of soreness in both forelegs trainer M Boland was advised the filly would require a veterinary certificate prior to next racing.  
 
 
Race 2: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1000 metres
 
BETTER BE BETTER – As apprentice W Peel was unable to fulfill her engagements due to commitments at another venue, she was subsequently replaced by apprentice T Wheeler. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
HEADSPACE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MASTER BAYLEE – Began awkwardly losing ground. Steadied from heels near the 600m. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DAD'S LAD – Tightened on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
KAARCHI – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LUVACTION – Jockey L Tilley was permitted to ride the mare 0.5kgs overweight. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
MAGIC DESERT MOON – Began awkwardly.
 
BLUE HARMONY – Jockey M Hellyer was permitted to ride the filly 0.5kgs overweight. Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 600m whilst laying in.
 
Race 3: JOE WAGNER GROUP Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
REAPO ROCKY – Bumped at the start. Steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
UNSUSPECTED – Began awkwardly.
 
PIZZO – After dislodging its rider in the preliminary galloped a considerable distance riderless before being captured. As a consequence, was declared a late scratching @ 6:12pm on veterinary advice. On the declaration of correct weight steward ordered that all monies invested on PIZZO be refunded and further ordered the following deductions on all successful bets:
 
1st 30c win, 17c place
2nd 28c place
3rd 27c place
 
PATH AHEAD – Tightened on jumping. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority.
 
MY GIRL SKY – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Bled both nostrils during the event. Trainer C Geran was advised as this was the first occasion which the filly had bled it would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and further would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to next racing.
 
GULLFAXI – Steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
TAUCITY – Raced wide during the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4:  GERRY BROWN'S SHELVING & STORAGE Maiden Plate 1640 metres
 
ANACHEEVA LAD – Raced in restricted room near the 1400m. Jockey B El-Issa was issued a $400 fine under AR132(7)(a)(ii)
 
DROP THE PILOT – Hung out in the early stages and was checked from heels approaching the 1300m.
 
GENERAL ELLIOT – Slow to begin.
 
SOMNIA –Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Bled both nostrils during the event. Trainer A Boyd was advised as this was the first occasion which the mare had bled it would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and further would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to next racing.
 
SET BEAT – Raced in restricted room near the 1400m.
 
Race 5: EZYWALKER Class 1 Handicap 1640 metres
 
ENJOY THE SHOW – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SUFFICE – Approaching the 600m attempted to improve between BILL OF RIGHTS and CALL MY AGENT (NZ) which had shifted to a 3 wide position however when CALL MY AGENT (NZ) shifted in marginally SUFFICE became awkward at the heels of that runner and as a result was steadied. As a consequence, became held up approaching and rounding the home turn before securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
FRONT PAGE NEWS – Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
BILL OF RIGHTS – Began awkwardly. Steadied whilst racing keenly to avoid heels near the 1400m. Checked to avoid heels near the 150m. At a subsequent inquiry Apprentice M Savva pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) for permitting her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of BILL OF RIGHTS resulting in that runner being checked to avoid heels. Apprentice M Savva’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 01/04/2021 and conclude 09/04/2021.
 
Race 6: MOCO QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
SHERWOOD PRINCE – Bumped on jumping.
 
SHE'S HEAVENLY – Shifted out on jumping making contact with another runner.
 
SPECIALDEE – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 7: PRYDE'S EASIFEED BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 870 metres
 
SERTIN – After making contact with the enclosure fence the gelding underwent a veterinary examination was subsequently passed fit to start.
 
THE TENOR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TAPA - Steadied from heels near the 700m.
 
SPIRIT ONE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When questioned in regard to the below market expectation performance Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor could offer no explanation.
 
ZANAZOU – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
