GENERAL
 
As Jockey G. Walters was injured at the Warwick meeting today, he was subsequently replaced as per the steward’s summary.
 
 
Race 1: MOORE LEWIS & PARTNERS Class 1 Handicap 1210 metres
 
SEDGEMOOR - Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 700m.
 
I'M HITCHIN' BRO - Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 800m and again at the 700m. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. Jockey B. Pengelly was fined $300 under AR.211(2) for returning to scale in excess of 0.5 kilograms overweight. Jockey Pengelly was reprimanded under AR.115 for misconduct when he engaged in a verbal altercation with another rider.
 
COALBANK CAVALRY - Raced wide without cover in the early stages before obtaining a position outside the leader near the 700m.
 
BY BY MUSIC - Difficult to load.
 
CHEVRONS'N'ROCKERS - Began awkwardly.
 
HARRY'S STYLE - Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
IN AGREEMENT - Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
SILVAPLANA - Began awkwardly bumping another runner to the outside. Leaving the 700m shifted in marginally tightening runners to the inside. Tailed off from the 600m taking no competitive part for the remainder of the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer L. Richardson advised warning is placed on the mare.Jockey Bogenhuber was reprimanded under AR.115 for misconduct when she engaged in a verbal altercation with another rider.
 
DRAGON PINS - Slow to begin. Approaching the 800m raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained. Inclined to lay in in the early part of the home straight.
 
Race 2: AUDI CENTRE TOOWOOMBA BENCHMARK 68 Handicap
1210 metres
 
REST OF THE WORLD - Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m shifted out abruptly making contact with another runner. Approaching the 800m was placed in restricted room, checked and lost ground when HARRYANDTHETIGER shifted in. Jockey G. Goomany, the rider of HARRYANDTHETIGER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that at appoint approaching the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of REST OF THE WORLD resulting in that runner being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Jockey Goomany’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight days to commence midnight 20/6/2021 and to conclude midnight 28/6/2021. Jockey Goomany was advised of his right to a internal review.
 
HARRYANDTHETIGER - Shifted in leaving the approaching the 800m tightening another runner to the inside.
 
LINE UP - Leaving the 100m was accidentally struck by the whip of another rider.
 
B'DAISY - Bumped by another runner near the 1000m.
 
KRAMERIC - Began awkwardly lost ground. Tailed off from the 600m taking no competitive part for the remainder of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer L. Gore was advised the gelding is to undergo an official barrier trial to Steward’s satisfaction prior to next racing.
 
Race 3: SHANNON SIGN COMPANY Class 3 Handicap 1650 metres
 
HONORABLE SPIRIT - Approaching the 900m placed in restricted room when BEL BEAU, which was over-racing, shifted in despite the best efforts of its rider. 
 
VINASTA - Began awkwardly. Leaving the 900m raced in restricted room for a short distance.
 
HEATHROW (NZ) - Began awkwardly.
 
SKYE AND ME - Tightened for room on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
ZANAZOU - When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, Trainer J. Thomas advised the mare proved disappointing at its last start at Ipswich and in his opinion benefited from the further distance of today’s event. Steward’s noted Mr Thomas’s explanation.
 
 
BEL BEAU -Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Over raced throughout the middle stages. Shifted in marginally approaching the 900m tightening another runner to he inside.
 
 
 
Race 4: QUEST TOOWOOMBA APARTMENT HOTEL Class 2 Handicap
1000 metres
 
DEADLY SINS - Inclined to lay in throughout.
 
SNAP ON - Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
INTIMATE TYCOON – Began awkwardly.
 
ULTIMATE POWER -Inclined to lay in in the home straight.
 
MISSLLEERS - Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
MOCKING - Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
EAST ESPLANADE - Began awkwardly, lost ground. Upon returning to scale Jockey Bogenhuber advised she was unable to take a more forward position in the middle stages despite riding her mount along. She further added the gelding finished the race off strongly and in her opinion is better suited over more ground.
 
Race 5: HIGHFIELDS BUILDER PTY LTD QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden
Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start was delayed when MYSTERY ROAD underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the start after the gelding was found to have sustained a laceration to the mouth. Stewards declared MYSTERY ROAD a late scratching at 7:05pm on veterinary advice. Steward’s ordered all monies invested on MYSTERY ROAD be refunded with the following deductions to apply:

 0 cent in the dollar for the place of winner - #11
 1 cent in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #8
 1 cent in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #2
 
HILL BILLY FLYER -  At a point leaving the 700m was bumped on the hindquarters BY LAST FINALE which shied in and away from JACK BE LUKY. Forced wider by another runner leaving the 200m.
 
LAST FINALE - Slow away. Shied in and away from JACK BE LUCKY at a point leaving the 800m and again leaving the 700m.
 
 
SPIRIT OF QUIN - Slow away. Tailed off in the middle stages taking no completive part in the event.  A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer T. Sears was advised a warning would be placed in the gelding.
 
SUZURIN – Leaving the 800m was placed in restricted room and forced to steady when LAST FINALE shied in and away from JACK BE LUCKY.
 
AUTUMN DAZE - Began awkwardly making contact with JACK BE LUCKY.
 
LOVIN' DE QUO – At a point leaving the 700m was tightened for room and lost ground when HILL BILLY FLYER was bumped on the hindquarters by LAST FINALE and as a result shifted in marginally despite the best efforts of its rider.
 
SHEPPEY - Began awkwardly bumped another runner on jumping.  At a point leaving the 700m was tightened for room when runners to the outside shifted in marginally. Shifted out to obtain clear running approaching the 200m forcing HILL BILLY FLYER wider on the track.
 
PUBLICAN’S PURSE – Jockey B. Appo was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Race 6: KENNARDS HIRE Maiden Plate 870 metres
 
HISGRACE - Tightened for room for a short distance leaving the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CURIC - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Upon returning to scale, requested to be assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service after receiving kickback throughout the event and expressed concerns with an injury to her mouth.
 
IN HAVANA - Tightened for room for a short distance leaving the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WATCH LIST (NZ) - Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Raced wide without cover throughout.  Upon returning to scale Apprentice A Patis reported on jumping her mount’s head made contact with her face and as a result she was unable to ride her mount out to the best of her ability. Apprentice Patis was subsequently assessed by Queensland Ambulance Service and was passed fit to resume her duties.
 
CUTABRI - Began awkwardly.
 
COOL ESPRESSO - Apprentice W. Peel was stood down on medical advice after being assessed by Queensland Ambulance Service and was replaced as per the steward’s summary. Apprentice Peel was advised she will require a medical certificate prior to returning to race riding.  Began awkwardly. Approaching the 800m shifted out marginally tightening runners to the outside.
 
 
Race 7: LASER CLINICS AUSTRALIA Maiden Plate 1875 metres
 
BURN THE BOATS - Improved onto heels and was forced to restrain leaving the 1600m.
 
MONTBARD (NZ) - Tightened for room shortly after the start lost ground. Leaving the 1600m steadied and got its head up when awkwardly placed at heels.
 
MR REDDINGTON - Began awkwardly. Taken in and placed in restricted room leaving the 1700m
 
SHORTAZ – Shifted in leaving the 1700m tightening runners to the inside.  
 
DUSTINS - Raced wide in the early stages without cover before obtaining a position behind the leader leaving the 1300m.
 
A'YUN – Taken in and placed in restricted room leaving the 1700m
 
FERGUS EN MARCHE - – Tightened for room leaving the 1700m when A’YUN and MR REDDINGTON were taken in by SHORTAZ. Jockey C. Eaton, the rider of SHORTAZ was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR.131(a) in that at a point leaving the 1700m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of A’YUN, MR REDDINGTON and FERGUS EN MARCHE, resulting in A’YUN and MR REDDINGTON being tightened for room and FERGUS EN MARCHE being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. As Jockey Eaton left the stewards room and refused to return prior to penalty being handed down, the panel was of the view that the appropriate penalty Jockey Eaton’s license to ride in races be suspended be a period of eight days to commence midnight 28/6/2021 and to conclude midnight 6/7/2021. In determining penalty stewards took into consideration Jockey Eaton’s prior good record. Stewards will speak to Jockey Eaton regarding her conduct in the above Stewards inquiry and her failure to remain on course when requested to do so.
