GENERAL
As K Yoshida was indisposed due to illness, replacements were made as per the race day summary.
 
As App K Cowan was delayed at the Eagle Farm meeting, she was unable to fulfil her engagements in races 3 and 4 and replacements were made as per the race day summary.
 
Race 1: HYGAIN Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FIRST CROWN – Near the 1100m, when racing keenly, had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of SNAP ON. 
 
ISSAQUAH – Stewards permitted App N Fazackerley to ride the gelding without claiming his allowance of ½ kg.
 
TREASURE OF GOLD – Bumped on jumping making contact with the outside barrier partition. Approaching the 1000m was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of DREAMTIME MAGIC (Beau Appo), which shifted in momentarily. Jockey Beau-Dene Appo was subsequently reprimanded for careless riding. (AR131(a)) Upon return to scale Jockey L Tilley reported some soreness to his left foot.
 
GOOD HUMOUR - Raced wide and hung out throughout.
 
TERRAJOHNA – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 2: HARVEY NORMAN COMMERCIAL BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1300 metres
 
SHORT SARA – Inconvenienced on jumping. Raced wide and without cover and was permitted to stride forward to obtain a leading position near the 800m. Performed below market expectations. Rider L Tilley reported that in his opinion racing wide in the early stages had a detrimental effect on the mare’s finishing effort. He further added that the mare failed to respond when placed under pressure in the home straight and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
VIVID FORTRESS - Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
COUNT THE COIN – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Approaching the 400m was restrained when disappointed for clear running. Jockey S Bogenhuber was reminded of her obligations when improving into positions where there is insufficiently room.
 
HEADSPACE – Laid in near the 800m. Raced wide throughout. Bumped and shifted wider rounding the home turn when COUNT THE COIN shifted out to improve. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
DIVINE ROCA (NZ) – Approaching the 800m was bumped when HEADSPACE laid in.
 
LITTLE JERRY – Hampered on jumping.
 
EXPLORATION – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Race 3: THE KELLSTORM QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed when AUTUMN DAZE dislodged its rider S Tomlinson en route to the barriers before travelling a short distance before being recaptured. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as was passed suitable to race. App Tomlinson was examined by QAS and was passed fit to fulfil his engagement. The start was further delayed when AUTUMN DAZE again became fractious behind the barrier and as a result underwent a pre-race examination and was again passed suitable to race.
 
DEVIL'S RITE – Bumped on jumping. Rider B Nothdurft reported that the gelding laid in throughout.
 
JACK BE LUCKY – Raced wide and without cover throughout.
 
TWILIGHT BOOM – Near the 900m was restrained to avoid the heels of DAZZLING FLASH (G Cartwright), which shifted in marginally.  Jockey G Cartwright was reprimanded under AR1319(a) for shifting in when insufficiently clear to do so.
 
RIPPIN’ READY – Approaching and passing the 200m raced in restricted room.
 
SPIRIT OF QUIN – Trainer T & M Sears were fined $100 for the late declaration of App I Rabjones as the rider of the gelding. Slow to begin. Rider App I Rabjohns reported that the gelding hung out throughout.
 
WITCH DAY – Near the 200m was tightened for room and as a result was awkwardly placed on heels and had to be checked.
 
MISHANI UNTAMED – Dislodged its rider in the parade ring after becoming fractious. C Caserta was examined by QAS and passed fit to fulfil his engagement.
 
GOLDEN GROOVE – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Trailed the field throughout. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
 
RIPPIN’ READY – Near the 200m was steadied when tightened for room and forced wider. Jockey G Cartwright was pleaded guilty to a charge to careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of RIPPIN’ READY which was taken out on WITCH DAY resulting becoming awkwardly placed at heels and checked. Jockey G Cartwright license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 17th August 2021 and expire midnight 27th August 2021.
 
Race 4: KNIGHTS LAUNDRY Class 2 Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately three minutes when SIR WARWICK refused to load. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SIR WARWICK were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 7:20pm:
29 cents in the dollar for the win – SHE’S A TIGRESS  
20 cents in the dollar for the place of winner – SHE’S A TIGRESS
18 cents in the dollar for 2nd place – SHOTGUN SONNY
26 cents in the dollar for 3rd place – MISSLLEERS
 
Trainer J Capewell was advised that the gelding would be required to officially barrier trial on two consecutive occasions prior to racing again.
 
SHOTGUN SONNY - Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MISSLLEERS – Raced wide and without cover throughout.
 
STORMTROOPER – Passing the 600m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels.
 
GLOBAL FACTOR – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
JONDY ROCKET – Stewards permitted S Lacy to rider the gelding half a kilogram over its declared weight of 54kgs.
 
Race 5: SANDER PARTNERS ACCOUNTANTS AND ADVISORS BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1000 metres
 
MADDIARA – Performed below market expectations & market drifter. Rider N Fazackerley reported that the mare travelled well during the early and middle stages however failed to respond when placed under pressure. He further added that in his opinion the mare would be benefit racing over distance further than that of tonight’s event. Trainer J Thomas advised that the mare had been working well and that he was satisfied with the performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not identify any abnormal findings.A post-race swab sample was taken for analysis.
 
NEW ALLIANCE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
COPPER SUNSET –Raced wide for the majority. Rider L Tilley reported that the horse hung in throughout.
 
SIMPLY SO – Entering the home straight raced in restricted room momentarily when COPPER SUNSET laid in.
 
Race 6: SEDL AGENCIES Maiden Handicap 870 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 11 minutes when GUESS WHO shied dislodging rider C Eaton whilst behind the barriers and galloped riderless for a considerable distance. The gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching at 8:33pm by order of the Stewards. All monies invested were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 8:33pm.

The declaration of correct weight was delayed due to issues with the official price deductions system.
 
AVOIDING HER - Stewards permitted S Lacy to ride the filly half a kilogram over its declared weight of 54kgs.
 
TISANI EMPEROR – Raced wide for the majority.
 
HISGRACE – Slow to begin. Performed below market expectations. Rider M Wishart reported concerns with the geldings actions during the event. A post-race veterinary examination identified HISGRACE revealed it to be lame in near hind leg. Trainer B Azel was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.

RED DRESS – As Jockey L Tilley was unable to make the weight, he was replaced by C Caserta as the rider. Jockey L Tilley was fined $200 under AR190(3). Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MILLCHESTER – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: RACING NATION, SATURDAY MORNINGS ON POWER FM Maiden Plate 1625 metres
 
The start of this race was rescheduled to start at 9:18pm due to delays prior to Race 6.
 
DOUBLES CHOICE – Near the 1500m made the crossing awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
GENERAL ELLIOT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
GOLDEN WHITT – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
TAKE THE LEAD – Bumped on jumping.
 
BLUE CORNER – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
EVA THE DIVA – Due to App M Wishart being indisposed following race 6, Stewards approved Jockey Bradley Appo as the replacement rider. Stewards also permitted Bradley Appo to ride the mare one kilogram overweight as no other rider was available. Began awkwardly.
