As A Thompson was unable to fulfil his engagement in Race 1 he was replaced as per the race day summary.
 
Due to a delay in Race 5 and to avoid the horses parading during a fireworks display occurring at a nearby location, in the interests of safety, the start times were amended as follows:

Race 1: RAMS HOME LOANS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1210 metres
 
Better Ethics – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Nick The Skip – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted approaching and rounding the home turn, Apprentice A Bakos explained that approaching that point she felt as if the gelding was weakening and as a result failed to handle the home turn as tractably as she would have hoped. She further explained that at a point whereby Count the Coin improved to the inside, she was unable to hold that runner to her inside and instead shifted out. Stewards noted Apprentice Bakos’s explanation, however advised her that in similar circumstances it would be beneficial to her mounts chances to have raced tighter with Count the Coin at that point of the event.
 
Keep On Loving You – Began awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Maddiara – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Trainer J Thomas was advised that a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of the mare.
 
The Minivan – Slow into stride.
 
Count The Coin – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Treasure of Gold – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 2: SHANE PRATT PAINTING Class 2 Handicap 1210 metres
 
Pivotal Motion – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Performed below market expectations. Apprentice M Kennedy reported that the gelding failed to respond from the 700m and was disappointing. Trainer D Duryea advised that he was very disappointed in the performance and that the gelding will be spelled. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Drop The Pilot - Hung out near the 650m. Rider A Jones was reminded of her obligation to ensure that her helmet is properly affixed whilst mounted on a horse. AR122(1).

Snap On – Change of tactics, to be ridden quieter. Settled midfield. Trainer J Thomas was reminded of his obligation to advise stewards of a change of tactics by the prescribed time. (AR100) Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
East Esplanade – Shifted in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
High I Cue – Near the 600m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of Drop the Pilot (A Jones) which shifted in. Apprentice A Jones was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a). Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Sheindlin – Raced wide and without cover throughout.
 
Race 3: SUCCESS REALTY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Corajillo – Change of tactics, to be ridden further forward. Settled outside the leader. Improved performance queried. Trainer K Mothershaw advised that the mare appreciated the drop-in class today and was benefited from being ridden more positively. Stewards noted his comments.
 
She's A Tigress – Bumped and forced wider approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
Heart Of Kings – Stewards acceded to late gear request to remove the concussion plates (front) from the approved gear of the gelding.
 
Kobang – Began awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Brazen Dynamo – Slow to begin. Laid in approaching the home turn. Performed below market expectations. Apprentice A Jones could provide no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Loveson – Over the concluding stages, whilst weakening, had to be steadied when placed in restricted room by Kobang (G Cartwright) which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Rider G Cartwright was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding.
 
Global Factor – Slow into stride.

Crafty Aquila – Momentarily tightened for room on jumping. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Steadied near the 600m. C Meehan (Zaidin) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 600m he permitted to his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Crafty Aquila resulting in that runner having to steady. After considering submissions on penalty, including his exemplary record under this rule, stewards issued a severe reprimand.
 
Race 4: THE FITLAB Class 2 Handicap 1650 metres
 
Stewards inquired into an incident near the 400m whereby Unique Journey was forced wider resulting in Striking Emerald becoming awkwardly placed on heels and forced wider and Pucko, Enchanted Reign and Kirro all being steadied and forced wider. Rider C Jokic pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 400m she permitted her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear. C Jokic’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of eleven days to commence at midnight 4/9/21 and to expire at midnight 15/9/21. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful that the carelessness was deemed to be in the mid-range, her guilty plea and her good record in relation to this rule.
 
I'm Hitchin' Bro – Began awkwardly. Laid in near the 800m.
 
Unique Journey – Near the 400m was forced wider.
 
Pucko – Began awkwardly. Laid in near the 800m. Steadied and forced wider near the 400m.
 
Ultimate Power – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
Kirro – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Steadied and forced wider near the 400m. Weakened over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Waikato – Raced wide and without cover throughout. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Stryking Emerald – Stewards permitted jockey M Hellyer to ride the gelding one kilogram over its declared weight of 54kgs. Inconvenienced and forced outwards on jumping. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Near the 400m became awkwardly placed on heels and was forced wider.

Enchanted Reign – Steadied and forced wider near the 400m.
 
Front Page News – Rider C Eaton reported that the mare overraced throughout.  
 
Race 5: 5 INTRAFINE CEILINGS AND PARTITIONS Maiden Handicap 1300 metres
 
The start of this raced was delayed approximately 6 minutes due to A Glass of Bubbles (Nz) being reluctant to proceed to the barriers and Mamma Media having to be resaddled.
 
Oracle's Drummer – Near the 800m raced in restricted room and lost ground.
 
Max's Source – Jockey B Appo pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) that he used his whip on 20 occasions during the race. Bradley Appo licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven days to commence at midnight 1/9/21 to 8/9/21. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful that this was his first offence under this rule.
 
A Glass Of Bubbles (Nz) – Stewards permitted rider V Venkaya to ride the gelding half a kilogram over its declared weight of 54kgs. Reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Trainer P Busuttin was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.  Slow into stride.
 
Ironstone Gal – Raced wide and without cover.
 
Mamma Media – Resaddled at the barriers.
 
 
Race 6: OBADARE GROUP QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1210 metres
 
Larundel – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
Whittcross – Slow to begin.
 
Damiani – Began awkwardly. Near the 900m was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of Rippin’ Ready (Z Lloyd), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Z Lloyd was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a).  Passing the 500m improved onto heels and was forced to restrain. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Lady Fey – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
Lady Lawrodge – Shifted in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Bumped leaving the 600m. Accidently dropped her whip upon entering the home straight.  Performed below market expectations. Apprentice A Jones advised that whilst the performance was disappointing, the filly would derive benefit from the run tonight and would appreciate distances further than that of tonight’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will speak to trainer L. Hatch regarding the filly’s post-race recovery.
 
Sutto's Gal – Raced wide throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 7: TRICARE WILLOW GLEN Maiden Handicap 1875 metres
 
Doubles Choice – Began awkwardly.
 
Agent Ninety Nine – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and lost ground. Leaving the 1700m was placed in restricted and lost ground when Oceania Princess shifted in and away from Espanyol, which was over racing.  Performed below market expectations. Eased down in the home straight. Rider G Cartwright reported that it had been the intention to go forward however after being slow to begin she settled further back than anticipated. She further added that after travelling in a rearward position, she placed the mare under pressure from the 600m and as a result it was left without a finishing effort and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Oceania Princess – Began awkwardly. Hung out near the 1600m. Shifted in when place under pressure in the home straight.  
 
Gentle Prince – Jockey C Meehan was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful that this was C Meehan’s eight offence in the last year.
 
Espanyol – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
