Due to the covid protocols the following overweights were approved.Race 1 – PETITE ELLE – C Meehan +1kgRace 2 – MR NODDY - C Meehan +1kgRace 7 - REALLY REALLY GOOD - L Tilley +1/2kgRace - - M Gray + 1/2kg Race 1: TAYLOR BUILDING GROUP BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres WAIT A MINUTE – Slow to begin. HARRYANDTHETIGER – Began awkwardly and bumped with DYNAMIC DUO. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Leaving the 300m was placed in restricted room between EAST ESLPANADE and PETITE ELLE which hung out. REPUBLIC – Bucked shortly after the start and failed to finish. Trainer W Nugent was advised the gelding will be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards. DYNAMIC DUO – Tightened on jumping. DROP THE PILOT – Slow to begin. Jockey B Appo reported the gelding hung out in the early stages and proved difficult ride. BRAZEN DYNAMO – Began awkwardly. DRAGON PINS – Raced keenly early and middle stages. Near the 600m improved into a narrow run to the inside of BRAZEN DYNAMO and as a result had to be restrained. STYLISH HABIT – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide in the early stages. Laid in for the majority. EAST ESPLANADE – Raced keenly in the early stages. PETITE ELLE – Hung out rounding the home turn. Race 2: PRYDE'S EASIFEED THREE Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres LITTLE CAESAR became very fractious in the enclosure, reared, made heavy contact with the enclosure fence and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 6:52pm. All monies invested on were LITTLE CAESAR ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 6:52pm:0 cents in the dollar for the win - WINNEBA1 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - WINNEBA1 cents in the dollar for 2nd place - SOUTH STREET BOSS3 cents in the dollar for 3rd place – SET TO GO WELL A post-race veterinary examination of LITTLE CAESAR identified a minor laceration to the near side nostril and a cut high up on the gelding’s neck. Trainer C Saunders was notified that LITTLE CAESAR will be required to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards and will also be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again. SET TO GO WELL - Trainer B Ahrens was fined $200 for the late declaration of Jockey G Goomany as the rider. LONGSHOT LIZZIE – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced three wide throughout. Near the 250m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of MY BIG BROTHER. SOUTH STREET BOSS – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Near the 800m was steadied from heels. Approaching the 600m whilst racing keenly shifted out to improve and made contact with MY BIG BROTHER. STORMTROOPER – Raced three wide without cover throughout. SHELLEY'S SPIRIT – Began awkwardly – Near the 50m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of SET TO GO WELL which shifted out to under pressure. Jockey G Goomany was reprimanded under AR131(a) for shifting ground when insufficiently clear. MADAM OF THE HOUSE – Bumped heavily by SOUTH STREET BOSS on jumping. WINNEBA – Tightened on jumping. CALINDA – Tightened on jumping MR NODDY – Raced three wide for the majority. Jockey C Meehan was fined $400 - Use of whip prior to 100m – 6 times - AR132(7)(a)(ii). DEUBANK – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 200m until a point passing the 100m. MY BIG BROTHER – Near the 600m was bumped with SOUTH STREET BOSS which shifted out to improve. Near the 250m was restrained when awkwardly placed at the heels of CALINDA which shifted out. Jockey S Lacy was reprimanded under AR131(a) for shifting out when insufficiently clear. Race 3: PRYDE'S EASIFEED RACING CUBE BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 870 metres ORSETTO - Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SADDLE BOY – Approaching the 100m shifted in abruptly and as a result was awkwardly placed at the heels of SPEACIAL CASE. ILLICIATE AFFAIRS – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room shortly after the start. SIMPLY SO – Momentarily held up for clear running near the 400m REMEMBER MARY – As the start was effected the mare put its head down and then reared dislodging its rider and failed to begin. Trainer B Azel was advised that the mare will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate. Rider S Lacy was subsequently examined by the QAS and clear to fulfil remaining engagements. GOOD GRAB – When questioned into the seemingly improved performance Trainer M Callaghan reported that its previous two starts were over longer distances proved disappointing. He further added that with the step back in distance today, he expected a forward showing performance. Stewards noted Mr Callaghan’s explanation. SPECIAL CASE – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: PRYDE'S EASIFEED ENERGYPAK Class 1 Handicap 1625 metres HAIL TO THE CHIEF – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 800m was restrained when improved onto the heels of TAKE THE LEAD. FIORCAST – Began awkwardly. Laid in throughout despite the efforts of its rider. Trainer M Kropp was advised that a warning will be placed on the geldings racing manners. GOLDEN GOAL (GER) – Saddle shifted forward shortly after the start placing its rider at a disadvantage. TAKE THE LEAD – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels near the 800m when the pace slackened. DOUBLES CHOICE – Disappointed for clear running leaving the 300m until a point near the 200m before shifting out to improve. WEALTH'N'POWER – Raced keenly in the early stages. HARRY'S STYLE – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room approaching the 800m to the inside of TRIPPER which shifted in momentarily. Jockey G Cartwright was reminded of her obligations when allowing her mounts to shift ground. TRIPPER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages and was forced wider near the 1300m by GOLDEN GOAL. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. DIAMOND MOMENTS – Approaching the 100m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of FIORCAST which laid in despite the efforts of its rider. STELLAR WAY – Raced wide in the early stages and was permitted to stride forward to obtain a leading position near the 1200m. Race 5: PRYDE'S EASIFEED EASIPERFORMANCE Class 3 Handicap 1850 metres PUCKO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced three wide in the early stages and raced ungenerously throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and bumped with MORNING FARE near the 200m. Performed below market expectations, rider M Savva reported that the raced ungenerously throughout and failed to respond to her riding in home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormal findings. ULTIMATE POWER – Over-raced in the early stages. BRACKEN – Over-raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. LIKEABEEL – Slow to begin. Laid in from the 400m. Jockey S Fawke was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip 16 times throughout the event. AR132(5) OPEN ROAD – Slow to begin. MORNING FARE – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages. Near the 200m was bumped by PUCKO which laid in under pressure. Race 6: PRYDE'S EASIFEED EASILYTE Maiden Handicap 1050 metres SWEET WIND – Leaving the 800m whilst racing keenly was placed in restricted room when MISTER QUICKSTEP shifted out to avoid heels. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. BEARNAS – Bumped shortly after the start. Leaving the 400m shifted out to improve and bumped with ROSEAMI. Rounding the home turn bumped heavily with LADY FEY which had shifted out to improve. ARTIE BEATSOME – Began awkwardly. CYCLONE DIVA – Began awkwardly and bumped with ROSEAMI. LADY FEY – Rounding the home turn shifted out to obtain clear running and made heavy contact with BEARNAS of two occasions. COUNTY LOVE – Slow to begin. MISTER QUICKSTEP – Leaving 800m was checked and lost ground. Jockey S Lacy (ARTIE BEATSOME) pleaded guilty to a charge to careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MISTER QUICKSTEP resulting in that runner being checked and lost ground. Jockey S Lacy licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 2October 2021 and expire midnight 10 October 2021. Improved onto heels near the 600m and was steadied. Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn. ROSEAMI – Buffeted between runners on jumping and blundered. Weakened noticeably from the 400m and took no further competitive part. A post-race veterinary revealed poor post-race recovery. Trainer P Wallace was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again. Race 7: TRICARE - WILLOW GLEN Maiden Handicap 1050 metres BELLITA – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide with cover throughout. Performed below market expectations, rider N Evans could not offer any tangible excuse into the disappointed performance only to advise he raced wide throughout and the mare failed to. A post-race veterinary examination failed to revealed any abnormal findings. FRANKIE BLUE EYES (NZ) – Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn. REALLY REALLY GOOD – Laid in the early stages. Over-raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained. Raced greenly throughout. IN A MINUTE RILEY – Began awkwardly. LIGHT UP THE DAWN – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until a point near the 250m. OUTASTEP – Slow to begin. Raced three wide for the majority. TWOGOBOOM – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 8: ASH & PAUL'S WEDDING Maiden Handicap 1625 metres TYPHOON TALAYAH – Began awkwardly. Rounding the home turn shifted out to improve and made contact with PATTI WAGGIN. PULP – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. PATTI WAGGIN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward and take up a position outside the lead. Near the 1500m shifted in and away from LEADBURN LION which was laying in. Performed below market expectations, rider B Appo expressed disappointment in the geldings performance, reporting that after working hard in the early stages and after being placed in restricted room rounding the home turn the gelding failed to respond when placed under hard riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings. BLUE CORNER – Raced three wide without cover throughout. CUTABRI – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly with its head in the air for some distance near the 1400m. LEADBURN LION – Laid in in the early stages. After being caught wide in the early stages was permitted to stride forward to leading position near the 1200m. FLECKERL – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. MAMMA MEDIA – Near the 1500m was tightened for room to the inside of PATTI WAGGIN which shifted in and away from LEADBURN LION. SENSE OF EXPENSE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until a point leaving the 300m.
